We were looking for a simple baby monitor. Not one of the new fancy monitors with camera, night vision and x-ray to see if there’s poop inside the diaper. These work perfectly. The only complain is the way this sucks its batteries. They won’t last more than 6 hours. It comes with a cable to plug it in, but we move a lot around the house. So, if you are buying this and want to use batteries, but at least 4 rechargeable batteries.

We were quietly optimistic when we ordered these having read previous reviews and feedback.
When they arrived, we unboxed them and plugged them in….. our first impressions were… are they switched on….?….. I don’t hear anything….?….. we fiddled with the volume control….. still nothing…. just compete and utter silence….. bugger!
Then my wife said she would try speaking into it and went through to the bedroom where the sending unit was…… went up to the unit and spoke clearly and ……..loudly !!!
I nearly s#!t myself as this voice came booming through the receiver ” CAN YOU HEAR ME OK !!”
Now that my eardrum has stopped bleeding…. and I have picked myself back up off the floor…… I can quite safely advise to others…. they work very well…. they are absolutely silent ….there’s no background noise or hiss….. and pick up the faintest of goo’s and aahhh’s as your little one awakens…..
Just be mindful of the volume controls…..

It’s great for us for camping. Reaches much further than a video one and can’t beat the price. Super happy with it!

Unfortunately I bought this for travelling and did not get around to returning it in time so I am stuck with a useless product. It did NOT work the second time we plugged it in (or ever again). I am still hoping for a refund – but there is no seller to contact since it is sold by amazon. At this price point, I’m not devastated it doesn’t work, I just thought I could return it if that were the case. I probably could have, but I took to long to do it through amazon, I think.

Excellent produit, facile à utiliser. Avant l’achat j’avais hésité car plusieurs commentaires mentionnait que c’était un ‘mange batteries’. Après avoir testé des batteries ‘cheap’ et des batteries de bonnes qualité, j’ai remarqué que c’est seulement avec des batteries ‘cheap’ que leur durée de vie n’est pas grande. De plus, la portée de l’appareil est très bonne. Je recommande ce produit.

Works flawless 1 floor down. I have a loud fan making white noise in the baby’s room, and this system doesn’t light up for that noise (excellent!) It’s so sensitive that it can detect the faint sound my baby makes when sucking his thumb. I can’t hear it on my end but the first light flashes, so I can tell when he’s string so I can make my way upstairs early to see if he’ll wake up needing something (bottle or clean diaper). This system has given me my freedom back without breaking the bank!!

False advertising. Beware. THIS IS AN AC POWERED BABY MONITOR. This monitor is not meant for battery use – which is completely useless. Who wants a baby monitor that has to stay plugged in? Even the manual says you can use battery mode “for a few minutes”. Doesn’t hold a charge. When I contacted vtech, they sent me a new one, which is also misleading. This made me think the short battery life was just due to a defect or something. Not the case. Do not recommend.

This is an okay basic monitor. We keep it in our daughter’s diaper bag and use it at the grandparents for naps. I like the feature that you can turn the sound all the way down, but the monitor will still alert you to sounds by the lighted bar. The reason for the three stars, is I’m not impressed by the range of the monitor. It’s fine for inside a small house, but we’ve tried to use it at our family cottage and it doesn’t work the instant you go outside. The product states you can use it up to 1,000 ft, but it won’t work more than 85ft (and the monitor was clear of trees, etc).
