We use that descaler with a Saeco Via Venezia espresso machine, every six months or so. Our water is quite hard and deposits accumulate rapidly in coffee pots, humidifiers and espresso boilers. Used this descaler several times so far and machine still works well, hasn’t clogged, and taste remained the same. Just make sure to follow the instructions for rinsing.

Cheaper than the Saeco brand descaler (which I suspect to be the same thing…). Recommended!

WARNING! Be careful using this product. Flush your device several times after use. I followed the directions and I ended up burning the back of my throat as not all the solution had been flushed. It took an additional five flushes of the full espresso water tank to clear the taste. But wow did it work! Removed the De-Scale light on my Delonghi espresso maker.

I find that the manufacturers of descaler product do not use a standard measuring system. It would be easier to compare Cost Per Clean if they did! I have a Delonghi Magnifica. It holds 2 litres of water. Use 100ml of this product for one clean. As there is 900ml in the bottle, this means I should get 9 cleans for the $24 (incl tax) that I paid, which equals about $2.60 per clean. This is the least expensive that I found on Amazon. Some like Durgol work out to $5 per clean. You will have to decide for yourself if the 2x price is worth it.

In this format its cheaper to use this than vinegar and works better in a drip machine.

-1 star for lack of instructions. Says 100g/2l, this is too much. I run 2 tbsp for a whole carafe with a double rinse, done. At this rate the tub will last over a year.

I have used Urnex products before and this one is great for descaling my home Breville Infuser machine! Didn’t leave any residual taste like most descaling options do and my machine was definitely working better. Was quite surprised how much residue came out despite me keeping my machine very clean (I use Urnex Cafiza tabs). It just shows how much gets left behind over time. One thing I made sure to do was to rinse well after the Dezcal was run through – a full tank of water as per the instructions. If you get lazy and don’t do it you’ll be tasting it for a while. Overall I love Urnex products and Dezcal did not disappoint.

I made a big mistake before, I descaled my traditional pump expresso coffee machine with vinegar unfortunately it didn’t work great and ruined my machine at the end. I learned from the lesson, I should use this proper descale powder to clean the machine. If you willing to pay £200 for coffee machine, why don’t you buy a proper cleaning stuff to maintenance your coffee machine. Buy this big bottle it’s a really good deal, it could use over 15 months per an instructions. Take 56g mix with 1L water. Easy to use, put 56g powder in the measurement jug, pour some hot water to melt it and add cold water to fill 1L, then pour it into the tank and do the descaling, then use another 2L plain water to finish it. Now I use it for my Nespresso (capsule) machine, really happy with the purchase and the result. Better tasting and smell after descaling. Highly recommended this product.

It works. I have an expresso machine that I never cleaned. It was getting slower until it stopped, so I pulled out the manual to see why. De-calcify every 2 months. It was two years old, but I could hear the pump working. It was worth a shot.

I ran it through the filter, but nothing came through the steamer. The water was black. An hour later I had black stuff coming out of the steamer wand. I let it sit.

Long story short… Run/sit/run until the water became clear. The machine now works like new and my milk is beautifully frothy.

I have a Sage Duo Temp Pro and didn’t feel like £13.95 was a decent price for 4 descaler packets when this is only £15. While it’s not the easiest product in terms of understanding the label instructions, it did a good job when I figured it out.

Works on kettles and other items better than oust.

I use it on my Sage Barista Express to fix poor steam wand performance. 20 mins and all done.

After trying all sorts of descaler products for our warm mist humidifier, none of which worked very well, I was very happy with this stuff as it cleaned the scale off completely.

The only complaint I have is that the instructions tell you to mix 3.5 ounces into a half gallon of water, or there abouts. Problem is, how many of us keep a weigh scale on hand to measure the weight of something other than food?

I had to experiment to find a strong enough solution that would work, gradually adding more until I had it right. I found that 1 heaping tablespoon per cup of water works perfectly.

Despite this one shortcoming, I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Works very well at descaling. Should be more cost effective over time than the stuff you get in the supermarket. Just be aware there is a warning on it about use with aluminium. So best to check the compatibility of your espresso boiler before use.

I only used a tbsp in a large coffee pot.. I have now put 6 pots of clear water through .. the made coffee and it tastes bitter.. the chemical taste of this stuff.. so poured out the pot and put more water through .. still bitter taste:
It’s ruined my morning coffee .. I have no idea how long it is going to be like this. It’s disgusting. From now on I will use vinegar .

I will use this for cleaning calcium deposits but never again in my coffee pot !
