Great product and brand recommended by many professional BBQ pit masters. Accurate and good connectivity between the plugged in unit and the the wireless hand held unit.

Easy to operate and I believe they will replace the probes as part of a running warranty.

I think this is a pretty great product and it has helped me improve my BBQ temp control and the doneness of my cooked meats especially; a proper meat thermometer like this has been a game changer.

Can recommend and I am definitely a fan of the TP20 and of ThermoPro as a brand.

I’ve used this a couple of times now. Once to BBQ a whole chicken – not something I would attempt to do without a decent thermometer. If you’re into smoking on the BBQ, it works really well. One probe can be used to monitor the BBQ temperature and the other is inserted into the meat. The BBQ temperature is really useful since it gives you a warning of when you need to light some more charcoal. Both the transmitter and receiver units display the temperature so you could use it with just the transmitter (albeit with some loss of functionality). With the whole unit you can sit back, drink beer, and wait for it to beep and tell you the meat is done.

As an Englishman starting out on my American BBQ journey, with the help of some patient, dedicated US friends who were prepared to teach me, I bought this thermometer as a product they had both used and highly recommended. It has proved to be every bit as easy to use as they suggested and has really helped me to learn the art of slow-cooking large pieces of meat (I don’t know how anyone would do it without a top drawer BBQ thermometer). The reason I am writing this review so long after my purchase is that, having used the product for 15 excellent cooks, one of the prongs broke (my friends have used their thermometers for many years and for far more cooks without a problem so I must have been unlucky) and I found out that not only is this a great product but it is supported by an amazing company. I messaged them, told them what had happened and they instantly got back to me and have shipped me a replacement. If you know you can get a great product AND you are buying it from an awesome company that actually cares about their customers, what more could you ask for?

I bought a cheaper thermometer to replace my old one that broke, and it was incapable of reading temps over boiling. I needed something better for smoking meats on a charcoal Weber. My wife saw this and suggested I get it. I’ve never been happier with a BBQ thermometer!

It’s rugged and durable, as long as you hide it from direct sunlight. I’ve even grilled in the rain with it with no canopy or anything by wrapping it in a plastic shopping bag! Used it for a large chunk of the summer, probably 30 to 40 times now including on camping trips.

The sending unit into which a maximum of two probes can be connected, shows the temperature of each probe (rotates between them every few seconds). It then sends remotely to the receiver which displays both temps at the same time and has customizable options and a sound alert!

Using this, I’m able to provide delicious smoked meats for nightly dinners (my office is in my home, so why not slow smoke all day?!) or have two BBQs going for parties!

It’s great not having to run out every 10 minutes to check a non-wireless thermometer as well. My BBQ setup is about 30 meters from the house and the wireless receiver picks up the signal literally anywhere in the house (I don’t have a basement though so you’re on your own there).

If you read this and think “hey this guy sounds kinda like me when it comes to BBQing”, buy this. Spend the money. It’s totally worth it and you won’t regret it. We are considering getting a couple of these as gifts for family members who are into the same thing! Would make a fantastic gift for Father’s Day (or Mother’s Day if she’s into that kind of thing :P), Christmas, birthday, etc. If you don’t know what to get someone but you know they love to BBQ — this could be their favourite present. No joke, it’s that great.

Note: the probes will get a thick layer of black on them from smoking. If you wet them and run steel wool up and down them for about 5 seconds it will come right off. Any other method requires vigorous scrubbing for several minutes.

Another note: at some point the sender and receiver will desync and you’ll need to sync them again by holding some buttons on the receiver for a few seconds. It’s only happened to me one time so far, but I thought the unit was broken until I researched it. You just have to re-sync and all will be fine! So read this part in the instruction manual before you even start using it — even if you read nothing else in the manual.

I did plenty of research before buying this. Two factors made my mind up:
    1. Two probes, with both temperatures displayed all the time (no need to press a button or wait for it to cycle through temp 1, temp 2, and timer. I know some others do this. Means you have a constant read out of the smoker / BBQ temperature and the cooking meat; and
    2. Great customer service / warranty. After only a few uses I can see that the probes take a real hammering (heat / grease / smoke / snagged leads so knowing that they willl replace them is a big bonus.

Note that you can set an alarm for the temperature reaching (or exceeding) a given temperature. This is designed for use with meat (eg chicken should usually reach 75C to be safe). You can also use it to warn you if the smoker / BBQ is too hot. You cannot set it to warn you if the temperature drops below a given temperature – perhaps a useful feature for the future, albeit mostly of interest for those wanting to smoke food?

Highly recommend this product. I spent a long time looking at different models and decided on this one mainly due to positive reviews and value. It was promptly delivered and I was able to track it throughout the delivery. It was incredibly easy to set up although I sometimes forget which probe is 1 and which is 2. I mainly bought this to track temperatures in my cast iron Esse (similar to Aga design), I was concerned about closing the doors on the cables but this has not been a problem and I am able to monitor oven temp and meat temp at the same time. The temperature readings have been corroborated with an oven thermometer and an instant read meat thermometer and all agree. I have also used it on chicken breasts in the George Foreman and it’s has totally sorted me out, I was massively over cooking them and this allows me to get it right every time. Not been used on the BBQ yet. Similarly haven’t had it for a long time so can’t comment on durability but so far so good and the customer service so far seems spot on.

I used bought this thermometer based on a lot of positive reviews. I used it last night to smoke a couple chickens, Probe #1 was out by 20 degrees and Probe #2 was out by 15 degrees. Both probes said the chickens were done when in fact both were still pink on the inside. I checked the chickens with my kitchen temperature gauge and that’s how I determined the temperature difference. Tonight I decided to turn the oven on and check them again just to be sure I wasn’t doing something wrong. Both probes measured way higher than the actual oven temperature thermometer.

The seller has been contacted and there has been no reply from them one bit.

Bought this set for the past summer for my BBQ and smoking sessions and everything has been great as I get to sleep without worrying too much about the temp in my smoker. Recently, I used the thermometer for cook a turkey in the oven, I assumed everything was fine, until someone wanted to double check the temp as it was a really big turkey… And we find out it was off by 10 degrees! We had to double check with other thermometers to confirm that it is the TP20 that was off and it was true. Not sure if the probe deteriorates from being used in the smoker, but I did also notice from the product image that the probe doesn’t look like the ones I have, perhaps it’s a known issue and they upgraded the product? Nonetheless, the thermometer is good, but i had to take couple stars away because of the probes, which essentially is nothing without a good set of probes..

This TP20 device is accurate and trustworthy. It also appears durable and has allot of versatility with the dual probes and the options on the key pad. This is the best for the money, have had several that were half the price with only one probe and they were not accurate or worked well at first only to have them slowly become inaccurate over time. Nothing worse than overcooking a $100 prime rib roast. My first attempt made for a perfect result. Additional results have been the same and have used it now about 50 times. Consistent accuracy and excellent wireless efficiency. The probes have a lifetime warranty. If you BBQ Chateaubriand style large cuts of meat on your grill or pellet grill, this is the tool to have. For steaks, chicken fillets or burgers, the small hand held thermopro TP03 is also an excellent and accurate device. BBQ the perfect burgers to the perfect temp every time, make sure chicken fillets are just right, not overdone and dry. Very impressed with this product line. Well done on creating a high quality product for the home cook at a reasonable price.

Just used the ThermoPro wireless remote with dual probe and I am really impressed. I followed the directions and set up was a breeze plus so easy to do. Used on a 4 lb sirloin roast in a BBQ, it was so nice to enter the beef setting and correct taste setting and oven temperature mode, sit back and monitor the BBQ oven and roast temperature as time progressed. I like the fact that there was no need to probe the meat a few times near the end of the roast time with a regular thermometer and subsequent loss of beef juices flowing out from the probe holes. When the alarm sounded I removed the roast and it came out exactly the right temperature, perfectly juicy and delicious. Highly recommend.
