The tongs do not feel cheap at all. They have a good weight and the building seems good and durable. I just find all tongs to be very pricey and that’s what I felt with these. I do not find that these tongs are worth what they are sold for. They don’t stand out from the lot. They do have a good grip, but I would have been better with a silicone type for non-scratching surfaces.
As for cleaning, there’s too many cracks and holes for an easy hand cleaning like many other pliers so agaiun, these do not stand out from the lot. Better put them in your dishwasher.

2007年に買い、10年以上使いました。何度か直火の近くに置いて先が焼けてしまい、さすがに見苦しくなったので、まったく同じものを買い替えました。長年手荒く使ってこのくらいですから、きわめて堅牢な商品といえます。通常使用なら、先が変形することはまずありません。
正直のところ、最初は焼肉、ステーキを返すことくらいしか思いつかず、数年はほとんど死蔵の状態でした。が、あるときそれに限らずいろんな用途に使いやすいことに気づき、慣れたらキッチンの必需品になりました。
たとえば、炒めもの。具材をつかみ、バラしながら炒められます。ときにはつぶしながら炒めることも。菜箸より力を込めてガシガシあおれますし、ヘラより器用なことができる。
とくによいと感じるのはパスタを作るとき。パスタ側の茹でと、具材やソース側の炒めがこれ一本でいけるんです。両方を合わせるときもいい感じ。
唯一難点は、内側の形状です。わりと複雑なので、長く使っていると油汚れが蓄積して茶色くなってきます。てっぺんのストッパーのところにもネチネチがたまる。私は時折マジックリンの原液をドバッと漬かるくらい浸してピカピカにしています。
サイズは、よほど大柄な男性以外は小がいいと思います。小でも27センチあり、けっこう大きいですよ。
閉じ開きが固定できて便利なのは、言うまでもありません。開くときのワンプッシュは、いつもお腹でやってます。w。閉じるときも片手でできる方法がないですかね。

Bought this because my wife and I like the brand and found the size just about right for what we needed. We bought this one instead of the rubber-tipped tongs as I’d read that the tips sometimes came off those, as well as generally finding rubber utensils don’t last as long.
Impressed with the quality of the tongs and grip food (such as halloumi, pasta etc) well without slipping much. Should last several years. Pricier than some tongs, but not overly so, and happy with what we’ve got.

Having been so impressed with the OXO Y vegetable peeler (yes, it peels the toughest butternut squash and sweet potatoes) I’m gradually replacing all my daily-use kitchen tools with OXO as they are the best quality and more effective than other brands I’ve tried. Bring a little joy to mundane tasks – and probably not cost more long-term as they seem more robust and likely to last longer than cheap-average priced items anyway.

None of the tongs used over the years have functioned nearly as well as these ones by OXO. They do indeed make it easy to pick up and turn over food items being cooked on a stovetop or in the oven. So far have held up well through multiple uses and runs through the dishwasher; and, being able to close for storage is a great feature of the design.

I had switched to silicon tongs but noticed that they were picking up a detergent taint from being in the dishwasher – despite being advertised as dishwasher proof. I wasn’t happy with that so decided to go back to nylon heads.
These from OXO Good Grips are good quality and I expect years of trouble free use. No issues with them picking up and retaining smells either.

They work well and don’t function badly like my last pair that would constantly fall apart (another brand). They don’t seem to be too heat resistant as i’ve already melted one and i don’t leave these sitting in a hot pan ever.

I like this type of tong for use in non-stick cookware because it doesn’t scratch. Oxo is my favourite brand for this purpose. The end of the tongs are rigid nylon instead of cheap plastic or flexible silicon, which makes it much easier to pick up something in a pad such as bacon to turn it. The size of the head on other brands I’ve purchased. This is a brand that I’ve used and trusted for years. One warning, don’t set them on a hot burner. Don’t ask me how I know that.

Very well made and the perfect size for when you want to flip food over in a non stick frying pan. If you are using to toss a big salad they may be a bit on the small side but for serving the salad they are perfect. They won’t fall out of the bowl like the overly long ones. They are easy to operate with one hand in any position of the handle and the rubber grip on the handles gives you the feel of real good control. I can even choke up on them to the spoon area and they are not too wide although my hands are fairly large. The spring is nice and tight.

Turn stuff, pick stuff up… Most tongs will do this well enough. These do it really well, they feel nice in the hand and it’s easy to grip food, etc, firmly.
Rinse and repeat… Is it just me, but I like stuff to last. I’ve a few OXO items and they seem to last really well. Yes, there are cheaper alternatives. But as the saying goes “buy well, buy once”. The OXO Good Grips Locking Tongs feel solid and well built. I expect them to keep going a long, long, time.
What else do I like:
The grips, on the handle, are slightly “sticky”, it stops them slipping about.
They can be locked closed and that mechanism doubles as a hoop for hanging them, so plenty of storage options
Been through the dishwasher a couple of times and have come out looking great.

Just what I was looking for. Oxo quality. They work way better for flipping a steak or chicken breast than silicone ones. No slipping and dropping food. A little pricey though. I recommend

These pair of tongs has a good grip, easy to wash, and can easily stay closed. The plastic at the front where you grab sometimes is a bit sharp when washing, but this is an essential piece of accessory if you have non-stick or enamel cookware.

The nylon won’t scratch non-stick and can handle normal oven and stove use. The lock is handy and well designed.
