With a very active toddler starting to take baths in the big tub, we needed something to minimize the risk of slipping. This bath mat is great for that! Like anything wet, make sure you hang it up after each use to avoid mould. Read on for more specifics.
The price is very reasonable, so it’s a great value in my opinion.
When you first receive it, however, you’ll need to place it outside to air out for a bit. When I unrolled mine, there was a very strong plastic smell, and when placed a small bathroom, the smell becomes really harsh. After putting on the patio for a day or so, the smell was gone.
The mat has suction cups at the bottom to stick to the tub and has these bright and colourful, soft, raised dots on the top side. Our baby loved these and kept touching them and stepping on them.
The mat did provide more grip for baby’s tiny feet and she was able to stand up, sit down and move around much easier than when we didn’t have the mat.
The one issue I have with the mat, and why I only gave it 4 stars is the size. This mat will not cover your full bathtub (we have a standard tub, nothing fancy). So while it is ok and does provide grip, if your tub is a bit bigger or if you placed the mat a bit to the side, there will be an area where baby will still slip. So please be careful.

This is by far the best bath mat we’ve had for our little one. Sure it’s pretty and has nice dots, but it also does not seem to attract/grow mould like other mats we’ve bought. No nooks or crannies for mould to grow in. It’s strong, and the suckers keep it steady (doesn’t slip). It’s quite thick, so won’t fold up small (if that’s a factor), but that’s also why it feels very durable. Rips off easily enough when you need to remove it. Very happy with this purchase.

Will not stick to my tub at all and floats up with every bath.
To be sure I’ve done everything to make it stick:
-I’ve cleaned the tub beyond belief
-Tried to apply the mat at every degree of wetness (lightly wetted, heavily wetted, while the shower is running, fully submerged and dry!)
-Individually pressed on every single suction cup while trying to apply also.
Literally an unusable product. Very disappointed.

It looks great and it is great, but only for a year. We’ve got mould under the spots. I thought it was just under the edges but one popped off, not so nice. If your happy with something that lasts a year then cool, if not get something else

If I could give this zero stars I would! The product makes me really angry as its primary function is to make the bath safer for small children and ironically it makes it more dangerous. I can’t think of a better example of style over function. Yes the dots look pretty but the trade off is they’re more slippery than a clean, polished bath. We’ve used it once and my 4 year old initially loved it as in her words, “I can even swim over this one Dad”. By that she means, lay on her stomach and slide. That should tell you all you need to know. By the end of the bath she had slipped twice and was worried about standing up. I also have a 2 year old and I wouldn’t even let her near it. Shame on you Munchkin, trading standards should look at this item!

We originally loved this mat. It was cute, our daughter loved it and never complained about the raised dots as others have. We hang it after every single use and have no trouble with mold on the back or discolouration with regular cleaning however water works it’s way under the dots…. there is no way to clean under them without distorting the mat. Gross….

I have used several of munchkin’s products and am usually quite pleased but this may annoys me beyond belief. Functionally it works fine, but I have tried bleaching, magic erasing, and soaking in borax overnight but this mat is SO DISCOLOURED, it looks absolutely filthy all the time. I have a very clean home and I’ve decided to get a new mat because it just looks so filthy. Thoroughly disappointed.

It does what it’s supposed to do, which is prevent my baby from slipping around the bath. My 10-month old enjoys touching the colourful raised dots.
However, in the words of my 5-year old “the bumps hurt my bottom when I sit on them. It’s not comfortable.”
Would recommend for babies; would pick a different one for older kids that still sit in the bath to ensure “bottom comfort.” XD

My 9 month old was ready to leave her baby tub behind and start using the big tub. I ordered this bath mat to prevent any slips and slides and it has done just that. It is a good length and fits my bathtub perfectly. My little one noticed the cute bright coloured polka dots right away and she can now enjoy the big girl tub safely.

This is our go to non slip bath mat.
We have been using this in our tub for as long as I can remember.
The colours are bright and fun and
Our daughter absolutely loves it. It is not super long but just the perfect length.
Please check the bottom however every few months or so as the bottom suction area will mild. We usually replace it with the same mat every few
Months but I am sure a good cleaning would fix the problem.
Great suction
Good price and value
Would highly recommend!

Bought for granddaughter whose going to be visiting and to use generally, we’ve had to buy a different one. It doesn’t stick to the bottom of the bath, which is new. So when my wife got it for a shower she slipped over and was lucky not to do herself an injury. Had to buy a different one which is excellent albeit not as colourful. Maybe this was a bad one or they’ve changed the material as I cannot believe it has so many positive reviews.

This mat is slippery, dangerous for use with children, and completely unfit for purpose. I bought it on the account of the many good reviews on Amazon, unfortunately I disregarded the one good piece of advice of one previous reviewer, who mentioned how slippery this bath mat is.
The white bit of the mat are non-slip, however, all of the colourful dots are super slippery. They are large enough for a child to put a foot on them, lose balance and really hurt themselves in the bath – which very nearly happened to my daughter last night. The design of the mat is very attractive, and my daughter was immediately drawn to the colourful dots – so I can understand the attraction of this product.
However, it is NOT a non-slip mat, it is completely ineffective, and to be honest I cannot believe that it is even allowed to be sold as such. If you want to buy a non-slip bath mat, avoid this one !

Update: my mother in law liked our tub mat so much she asked if I’d order one for her house. We’ve had ours now for about a year and it’s still going strong!
This is pretty true to the description. Works great and sticks very well. We’ve never had any issues with the colour dots coming up like some people have mentioned, and we’ve had it close to a year. There are only a couple minor downsides: it isn’t as “sticky” as it could be for the baby to sit on, and quite a bit of water does get trapped under it so you do have to pull it up each time to dry. I do think it’s about the best value for what we wanted of all the baby bath mats we looked at.
