Pascal from Sydney –
Received the FreedConn TCOM-SC system 3 weeks ago and very happy with it. Simple to set up (worth taking the time figuring out how to best position the cable so nothing moves when putting on / removing the helmet)
Bluetooth works quick and well, decent sound quality, easy to switch from calls to music etc. Great value.

I read a bunch of reviews, and figured I’d try it as a cheap alt for a second rider. Compared to my much more expensive Sena headset, there is a noticeable difference. Perhaps it would work well for some situations, but at cruising speed on a sport bike, it wasn’t usable and so defeated the purpose regardless of the price. Wasn’t a good fit for my use case.

The product installed easily. The instructions were clear (plus there a bunch of videos online).
My wife and I use the intercom function when were are out on our motorbikes. For that purpose it works very well. My wife got stuck in traffic in town, and we lost sight of each other. It was invaluable. We did stray out of range, but we were in a built up area and I had pulled into the side streets to do a loop to wait for her to catch up. I did check it was about 800kms (which is to spec). Once back in range, the intercoms reconnected, and we were able to meet up again. For that mini adventure alone, it was worth the money. We also use it to communicate back and fore as we keep an eye out for each other.
We have only used the intercom function, and so cannot comment on music quality, etc.
My wife has a Shoei and finds that the volume is great for her. I have an Icon, and I find that I have the volume turned up full. Having said that, my Icon has a thin helmet liner over where the earpieces sit, so I guess that is to be expected.
The 4 stars for the noise cancellation is because we do find there is some wind noise at 110km/h. Having said that, we are at 110km/h… What do we expect ??
All in all, we are very pleased with the product. I did wonder if it might be better to go for something a bit more expensive, but so far so good. At this rate, we would definitely recommend it.
Update…
Firstly, I obviously meant 800m in my initial review, not 800kms !
Secondly… We have had them for a couple of months now and we use them every time we go out, whether just to work, or longer trips. They are fantastic. We have had no problems with them, bearing in mind that we only use them as intercom. We have not tested the radio/MP3 music function. We are not interested in that. Purely as an intercom, we would not ride without them. Excellent purchase.

I bought these units so I can talk to my riding partner and also listen to music and GPS instructions We took them on a long (2,500 km) trip so we had three days to thoroughly test them out. Unfortunately the units we had did not work properly.
They:
– Randomly turn themselves off
– Emit a series of “beeps” where you never know if they are on or off
– Lose the blue-tooth connection with GPS and phone and then reconnect over and over again
-BEEP BEEP BEEP relentlessly
And, while all this is going on, you are riding a motorcycle so you can’t stop to take your helmet off and find out what is going on! Useless.
I’m a “tech” guy, just for reference, so you can be assured that I was using them properly.
I cannot recommend this product.

Nomes –
Great for its price, but it has 3 clear problems.
1 it falls out of the holder very easily
2 music play interference happens very easily. I have three spots where it happens all the time on my drive home
3 you can only call on your phone the last number dialled. You cannot interact with Siri to dial particular numbers and the dial functionality happens often when you are turning on or turning off the device. Super annoying to me and the people I call.

Honestly, the product was great value for money. Sound quality was okay (a bit tinny, and the shorter headphone was significantly louder), and call quality was good. However, I noticed that the headset had a tendency to fall out of its clip (if adjusting the volume for example). The clip itself was more of a slide in/out – there was no real lock. The headset eventually fell off whilst riding last week. I wouldn’t buy it again for this reason.
Christopher Sheppard –
Communication between riders is great at lower speed, and sound quality of music and battery life very good…very happy

It does its primary job of intercom full duplex communication very well, and the price is very reasonable compared to other solutions. My wife and I use these for talking to eachother while we’re out on our ATV’s.
Pros
Pairing was quite easy
Battery life is excellent, still had charge left after a 5+ hr adventure
You can stream music from your mobile device
FM radio is a nice feature
Extra set of velcro stickers are included
good range – upto 1/3 mile away
Compact
Easy to hear the other person, even on a lound ATV
Notes
Placement of earpads is critical, it took me a bit to find the ideal placement. Ensure you don’t put it behind any padding as the sound will be muffled. I ended up putting mine right above the straps, which is an ideal position.
Ekin –
Design is very ergonomic, easy to activate intercom, play music, change volume. LCD is helpful for quickly checking battery level.
This was a great buy and highly recommended for anyone in the market for this type of product.
Customer service responded to minor issue quickly and satisfactorily.

These items are ok. The inside of the helmet ear piece can be felt on your ear, making it a bit uncomfortable. The outside piece does not clip on securely and keeps coming off. You have to be constantly checking the it is still there. We had to put a piece of something behind it to try to keep the clip in place. But that does not always stay there either. The clarity of voices is not great.

Easy to install but controls aren’t fixed to helmet. Happy with purchase 7/10
