Mounted on the back of my Monitor, and with a keyboard with a numeric pad and a mouse included, I have a ready-made beast of a machine. I have been working entirely on the Google Chrome OS with all their tools for a few years now, and I will never go back to Microsoft. In fact, I find that Google has surpassed the capabilities of Microsoft with all their product developments and AI. Instant startups, no malware, and totally cloud-based.

Excellent product packaging, sets up in minutes. I have a very good internet service and my account information was availabe immediately, ah the beauty of Amazon 1 day service, acer packaging and chrome OS. I have a 27 inch HP monitor with 2 Hdmi ports. Plugged in the ethernet cable , HDMI cable, and provided keyboard and mouse. the power supply cable has plenty of length. Everything came up and ran as advertised within minutes.
Thank you to all involved.

I bought this to replace a 2012 Mac Mini in our kitchen. This is our first Chromebox, but we do have a 2GB old Acer Chromebook and a new 8GB HP Chromebook, and use Chrome on all of our Macs. I wanted to make sure it was snappy (yes it is!) and had at least 8GB of RAM. I’m not sure I see a reason yet to get a 16GB version unless I’m using it for work with 50 tabs open.
I was annoyed it came with a keyboard and mouse at first since I wanted to use my nice bluetooth apple keyboard and magic trackpad. However, they kept disconnecting/reconnecting every 10 mins or so. I read that bluetooth is not very reliable on Chrome OS so I grabbed my old Logitech K400 sitting in the basement (has a receiver rather than bluetooth). That helped. The keyboard isn’t the best and the trackpad is small, but the extra function buttons like sound seem to work, but maybe not all. I can’t always bring the machine out of sleep with the keyboard and sometimes have to tap the power button (machine is mounted to the wall behind our monitor for a clean look). I wish it used USB-C for power instead of this large brick with a long cable, which is hard to conceal.
I was able to get the Google Play store working, so it is nice to use native apps like Spotify, etc. It does NOT allow you to switch users while someone is logged in, which is a little disappointing. However, it is fast and remembers your session, so not really a big deal.
I’m using it with a 2560×1440 monitor which needed a USB-C to display port cable.
It was over $500 – I wish it was a little cheaper, maybe $400, but at least it should last me 5+ years if nothing dies and I can easily use it with a TV if I want to change my use case.

Core i5 and 8 GB of RAM in a Chromebook/Chromebox should be huge. Then why is my mouse jumping all over the screen when there are only like 2 basic web tabs open??? I’ve very disappointed in the performance of this. I’m a huge Chromebook advocate and thought this would be a better option for my in-laws who are constantly calling me for Windoze IT support. I thought that there is a lot less harm they can cause themselves (and their system) in ChromeOS so went this route. They don’t seem to be complaining about it, but I went to go deliver some of that socially distant, mask-clad tech support the other day and I was getting really frustrated at my mouse pointer hopping all over the screen when I had nothing open. Tried a restart and same thing… WTF??? My Pixelbook only has an older gen i3 and 4 GB of RAM and I never get any issues like this… Disappointed… 🙁

crucial since Chromeboxes/books only have a 4 year lifespan before google stops updating them. this one performs very well.

This is perfect for home use – mostly internet use and minimal documentation.
One thing I do not like is grey color folders shown in Bookmark bar of Chrome instead of brighter color of Chrome bookmark folders under Windows system.

I bought this to play GeForce Now on since my old computer can’t handle it. For the price this is a great deal I’m now playing any of my steam games in max graphics. I recommend to anyone looking to PC game but don’t wanna drop $1000 on a gaming rig.

I ordered this yesterday and got it within 24 hours. I unplugged my old chromebox which had reached it’s end of life for updates and plugged in this new one. I was up and running with all my stuff within two minutes. This new one (Acer CXI3-I58GKM) has more horsepower that my old one and it’s really snappy. I love it.
