Love how well the attachment works. Easy to clean. Gave two stars due to the finish chipping off after 3 months of minimal use. Have handwashed only with mild soap and the chip occurred during cookie dough mixing process. Had to discard dough as I didn’t want to risk anyone injesting the chip. Not sure if it’s safe to continue using this product.

Placed the item on my mixer. Straight away the item detatches itself from the mixer. The shoulder on the item is rounded, unlike the orginal, as soon as presure is applied it detatches itself. Defective.
Plus the vendor wants me to pay the return postage to Germany. Not a good senario

Disappointed as a couple people said it did fit this model. I mean it “fits” onto the connector but is not nearly large enough for the bowl and sits about 1 inch up from the bottom so nothing below that will be mixed, nor on the sides. The only place it touches the sides of the bowl is at the very top. It is obviously much too small and would be ineffective.
It does look well made and I love that it is coated metal. The last one I had was plastic and it broke.

When I got my KitchenAid I did not get a flex edge beater just a regular on. As a result sides of the bowl and the bottom was not mixed as completely. I had to stop the mixer and scrap the sides of bowl down . The flex edge beater solves that problem. I bought this for my smaller KitchenAid mixer. I will be buying the one with the larger stem for my professional KitchenAid in the future.

If you research KitchenAid paddles with scrapers, you’ll find that some of them have additional bars sprouting from the central shaft. This paddle does a good job of scraping. But because it only has a single central shaft, you can get a mixing “dead zone” in near the center where material sits without getting blended. Probably depends on the consistent of the material being mixed, but happens with everything we’ve ever used it for.

I just got this and it didn’t work for my mixer (4KG25G7XS – 5 quart), however, I still gave it 5 stars because the product is good quality and with the right mixer it would be amazing.

The bowl on my mixer (which is well over 10 yrs old) is narrow at the bottom and that seems to be the issue as only the widest part of the beater touches the bowl at the top. I have since discovered (and as far as I know) that KitchenAid doesn’t actually make a flex edge beater for narrow 5 quart bowl. I don’t believe the type of mixer (tilt or lift) plays much of a part in the beater working. It’s more about the shape of the bowl. And before anyone jumps on me about that – I know I know! The type of mixer determines the bowl shape but what I mean is that you could pop this baby on to either a tilt or lift model, turn it on and it would swirl around quite nicely BUT chaos would ensue once you stuck it in the wrong bowl.

So now I’m back to the hell of having to scrape the bowl myself. Will this suffering never end?? Oh wait, there’s a pandemic going on – I’ve got loads of time!

I love how it mixes the batter so efficiently, I find myself preferring to use this paddle attachment compared to the normal one. Yes, you still need to scrape the batter with a spatula but I still find this a big help when mixing stuff.

Kept looking at getting this attachment for the girlfriend as she keeps saying she would like one. She kept saying i already have a beater and don’t want to spend the money on one. But I kept hearing the words i would like. Amazon sent me an email saying they were on sale and I had items in my wishlist so I placed an order. Well it showed up and I washed it off and placed in mixer bowl. Never told her anything about it. A week later she goes to make something! Can you say BROWNIE POINTS!! She was so happy. Facebook and everyone else in town knew about this attachment. She was so impressed how it worked. No needing a spatula to push non mixed stuff down to get mixed as scraper always wiped bowl clean. I guess this item works excellent.

Purchased hoping this would eliminate the need to use a spatula and scrape down the sides of the bowl as it mixes. Does not. Sporadically touches but doesnt go high enough to really help. It’s really no different than the basic mixer attachment. I’d return it if I could.

This is much better attachment than the original beater that came with my KitchenAid Classic Mixer. I love how it scrapes the bowl as it is mixing to incorporate everything that is in the bowl. The fit is good plus secure & should fit all tilt head mixers including the artisan series too.
