Huge disappointment and expensive too. USB-C port burned out in the first month, taking the USB-3 port next to it. Now, 15 months after purchase, the hard drive has become corrupted. The technician reported that the hard drive has been used for 20,000 hours (3 years). It appears my computer had a long life before it got to me… 🙁

Très bon produit , compact, silencieux et très performant .
Très facile à évoluer (Ram et Ssd)
Le capot s’ouvre simplement en retirant une visse à l’arrière .
Parfait pour la bureautique et streamer comme deuxième ordinateur

I normally don’t write reviews, however, I felt this deserved one. I purchased the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 Mini Business PC from the seller. What I received was the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF which is much larger. I work in the Information Technology Industry dealing with programming, software, and hardware which makes me think that I have at least a little credibility when dealing with PCs and knowing what should and should not be.
The purpose of this system did not require high-end hardware and I was fine with the system being “Renewed” as I can deal with most problems that arise. What was a problem is that the item I received was not what I ordered, that and it was pretty beat up making me question the “Renewal” process. The top cover could not even be removed as the latching mechanism was damaged.
So, I started the communication process with the seller. At first, they were pretty responsive. We exchanged a few communications with the last one requesting photos of the PC I received. At this point, I was fairly confident that they were going to correct their mistake. I submitted the photos as requested and then nothing. No response, other than the automated response confirming that they received my submission. Over the course of several days, I sent messages requesting a status update, however, I did not receive a response to those either.
I should have known better, as did read “Customer Service’s” review citing the same exact problem, but I was thinking that maybe this was an isolated incident. Apparently not.
This seller has many positive reviews, but I urge you to use caution when it comes to this product. Purchase at your own risk.

Ordered this for a friend, who needed a cheap media PC for TV. Decent enough specs, much cheaper than the NUC’s and the like.
First package was lost by Amazon delivery, had to wait few extra days to make sure it didnt arrive then got a refund and had to re-order. Second package arrived on time. Well packaged, and the computer itself was in excellent shape, not a scratch on it. Also in the box was a wired keyboard/mouse, which I did not expect. Cheapie stuff, but nonetheless it came included so it could be used out of the box.
Upon startup, Windows 10 Pro setup booted up quickly and setup was completed in no time. It was quite outdated (build 1809), but no big deal, I upgraded it to 1909 then 2004. The unit doesn’t come with HDMI (I knew that), but I had several DP-HDMI dongles, so I just gave one to my friend to use. However, only the middle DP port seems to output audio via HDMI dongle. No big deal but at first I used the one on the left, and it only output video. Center one seems to output audio properly. Not sure if its a driver issue or something else. not a big deal in this case since its gonna be used with a single TV.
Curiosity got the best of me so I had a peek inside to see what the guts are, and I was somewhat surprised to see an unbranded SSD.. My guess the refurbisher replaces the 2.5″ hard drives that came with these(or they come with no drives), with low cost SSD’s. I tested the speed on crystaldiskmark, 550 read, 350 write. The system works fast and responsive, but who knows what the longevity of this SSD will be. Ram was 8GB DDR4 2133, single stick, so not dual channel. But the path to 16gb upgrade is easy if need be without replacing the other stick. There’s also a M2 NVME slot, so that can be upgraded to much faster SSD.
All in all, not a bad little machine for the price.

Great PC’s fr the money great support. I have ordered two of this one had a defective power supply and the seller sent me a new one within a few days to replace the one I had issues with. Looking at picking up two more this week.
** These are used/renewed PC’smy two PC’s had visible wear on the cases. Windows Key activated fine on both from the internet/windows when I typed it in. If you want a new computer then pay the price and look at something else. If you want a great deal on an SSD, i5 windows Pro pc these are hard to beat.

I’ve worked with these before and decided to buy my own. It’s a great system for home or office and is small, light, and quiet. It’s expandable with both an M.2 slot and a SATA connector. It worked great from the start. The only draw back is the ram. 8 GB of ram is great for most uses but if you don’t want to add more it will be hard to find as it seems to only take DDR4 2133. I tried some 2666 I had on hand and it only errors out so I looked up the specks online from HP and it only lists 2133 bus as compatible. Other than that it’s a really good little system.

I am using this as a media center PC; it replaced a very old Acer Veriton Core i3 system, and the faster speeds are a welcome change. I also run Plex on this PC as a media server. Overall, this is great value for the money – you get a turnkey system at a competitive price.
The only major niggle is an audio issue. I have the PC connected via a Displayport to HDMI cable, and there are regular audio cut-outs. System appears healthy via monitoring tools, so perhaps this is either related to the cable or the port itself. I will do some more testing and will update this review if any changes are observed.
Update: audio clipping issues were related to the DisplayPort to HDMI cable. Switched to another one, and all is good now!

Reviewing the 800G2/CI5-6500T Variant.
This computer works like a charm. The only thing I had a problem with was the Realtek wireless adapter that came with it; it didn’t want to work and when it did work and finally connected to my network, it never stayed connected. Had an old netgear wireless adapter lying around so I used it instead.
Pros
-16 gigs of ram so memory is never an issue
-Efficient i5-6500 CPU that deftly handles everything I throw at it (Bluestacks Virtualization, Media Server Hosting, Multi Video Transcoding, etc)
-Plenty of USB Ports on the front panel and back panel (at least 4 at both ends)
-2+ USB 3.0 ports
Cons
-Only the supplied wireless adapter but not the computer itself
Notes
-Comes with a keyboard and mouse (both wired)
-Boatload of Updates needed once you boot up
-Wireless adapter is an external usb variant (wireless n, 300mbps, assuming single band)

Got the exact thing as seen on pictures and description, HP G2 mini(the smallest one they have). The specs match too, and it was under $250- perfect for kids school and whatever viruses they gonna pick up while playing online games lol
Very happy with the packaging, very secure, No scratches- as good as a new(in my opinion).
Running fast, booted up quick. Might get another one just because.
* i paired it with a 27” monitor, so it looks like a very fancy pc, when in fact I got less than $500 in it…, and I believe there are screens that take a mount for the PC so it looks like an All-in-one PC.
Also, didn’t realize that it comes with a keyboard and a pretty cool looking mouse…
I’m very happy.
*if you plan on running it on WiFi- you will need a dongle or a M2 network WiFi card, it’s about $14 and don’t forget to buy antennas like I did… will have to wait for another 2-3days before you can unplug the cable(another $7-15)…

Kind of expensive, $450 used, could find a little cheaper on ebay or kijiji maybe. Why I bought it? Mom needed another comp immediately for work to run her programs (excel, mainframes, databases, etc). I just wanted something basic that won’t die, and has a really small form factor. Amazon prime ftw.
Anyways, not disappointed at all, as advertised comes with: windows 10 pro, intel i5-6500T, 8gb ram and 256 gb ssd. I am pleased to see that it is samsung ram and ssd (I opened it up, please see pictures), and even included a wifi card, was planning on running an ethernet cord but it is not needed now. It also has 2 display ports and 1 VGA out the back for display, for my specific model, could be different as I found online they can vary (picture included).
I cleaned it up inside, was a little dusty, but not caked on, using compressed air. There is actually a youtube video by HP themselves on how to disassemble this unit which was very helpful. The exterior is pretty good apart from some kind of sticker residue left behind on the front, easily gone now using paper towel and water when it was disassembled. Computer is also so silent since it only has one fan. One of the pictures I included is of it idling after boot up after 6 minutes.
Keyboard and mouse were included which was a surprised but they feel cheap and the keyboard was broken upon arrival, some keys don’t work as I tried to type the internet password in, it includes the character “p” and the “p” key is non responsive on the keyboard (among many). But it’s fine, I honestly wouldn’t use their $5 keyboard they provided anyways. Mouse seems fine.
After some cleaning, and a LOT of windows updates, it’s ready to be used and its perfect so far. I can even upgrade the ram down the road if I want as well (has 2 slots total). You can search the maximum ram this computer can handle online (which is 32gb I believe).
All in all, good purchase, fulfilled by amazon, but sold by someone else.

The CPU I received in the system was an I5-6400T and the memory was (2) 4G DDR3. I returned it immediately. The service was fine. I just don’t like a deceptive advertisement.

The product itself is perfect for my needs, but I just wanted to comment that I was super impressed with the merchant’s extra “goodies”. They included a keyboard, mouse, and WiFi dongle with the product, and shipped it using UPS which means it came next day for me. Inside they provide good documentation too. Overall I was super surprised by the extra effort, and really, impressed. You cannot find good service like this these days!
Keep it up!
