It serves the purpose. Clear sound. Highly recommended.

So far so good. I haven’t taken it on the highway much but in general day to day use it work great. It sounds greats, not to over powering that you can’t hear a car horn or emergency sirens. Controls are super easy to use even with gloves on while riding. Answer, ignoring and ending calls are easy plus my voice is not distorted (I use the soft mic in a full face helmet). Voice controls are good though I have only used it a few times. You do have to use the prompt button for each command but it hasn’t been an issue thus far. Right now I am just using the clip-on feature rather than sticking it right to the helmet. Seems to be holding up but again have been on the highway a whole lot yet. FM radio works just fine. No complaints. Will update if anything changes!

Quality seems good, mounting is very easy. Pairing 2 is easy , 3 or more not so easy. Using 2 seems to have good sound quality. Using 3 or more seemed to be a hit and miss at times. Can communicate with line of sight only.. Auto re-pairing was a hit and miss also.. I have these problems with my Sena also.. For their price and functions we are going to use these ones more and test the limits of them..

This is my first helmet intercom, so I don’t have anything to compare it with, but I did a lot of research before buying and the FX8 really stood out as a great value – and I must agree!

    Sound:
The audio was a little fuzzy, but at least the volume is loud enough to hear, even when doing 70mph on a noisy motorcycle, and the person I was talking to could barely tell I was going fast.

    Ease of use:
The set up is not very intuitive – YOU WILL NEED THE MANUAL – and luckily mine came with a copy because I can’t find it online anywhere. So, I scanned a copy and shared it here. You’re welcome. I had misplaced mine and tried using a youtube video to pair the intercom, but it didn’t help much and I’m not sure how I actually got them to pair up. Without the manual, you’ll never figure this thing out. But at least the buttons are all easy to press – even while wearing gloves – and I really like that the volume is a knob instead of a button. Also, the 2nd time I went to use it, the bluetooth auto connected to my phone and the FM radio was simple to use (once I found my manual to read)

Qualité est supérieure à mes attentes. S’adapte bien à l’intérieur d’un casque de motoneige. Utilisé à différente température pas de problème. Le seul bémol c’est qu’il ny a pas d’instructions en français… mais sinon rien à redire.

This headset is surprisingly great. It is really easy to use while on the bike. The large well placed buttons with with wheel to adjust the volume is so simple and intuitive. FM radio function, bluetooth, intercom and being able to use your digital assistant (Siri) and phone GPS hits all the marks for all the features I would ever need. Even using Siri to navigate. Just double click the previous button and tell her “Navigate to Walmart in Dallas, Texas” and you are on your way. Good reception with an extra boost of antenna if needed is a good added feature that shows that whomever designed this product actual put thought into it and cared about its functionality. The reason it is so good is because of the price. Other name brand headsets are over the top pricey with the same features. The sound is prefect for me. My motorcycle is LOUD. I have a full face mask with modular design. I used the foam pads that came with it to put the speakers right at my ear. It works perfect for me. I really don’t need a 7.1 surround sound orchestra audiophile playing going down the road. However, if you want a private beside your ear concert by Elton John you can always upgrade the speakers. Although some wire cutting is involved, it is very simple. Youtube is your friend. But that goes with any headset that you purchase. Overall, for the price you can’t go wrong. I am very happy. This is a great alternative to spending loads of money on a name brand headset.

I contacted the company to tell them there was something wrong and was given the amazon runaround now the unit battery dies after a full charge, 1 short ride, and turning the device off where you can hear it say powering off… 5 days later go to turn it on and DAF, for customer service lacking to help I give it a 0/10

Bought these to have multiple riders to communicate while motorcycle riding. These work well with two people but as soon as you try for 3 or 4 pairing be prepared for some serious squealing. It happens about 50% of the time. Frustrating once you get them paired and start to ride and then you loose one or two of the riders a few minutes later and then trying to get them to pair back up again is a turkey! They are supposed to automatically reconnect but nope, constantly messing around trying to get the 4 back together test your patience and then when trying you get hit with squealing in the ears.
I tried to connect with the seller for help but no response or there is some kind of email communication error. Wish there was help because they sound pretty good when they are working.

I’m not normally one to write reviews unless a product is outstandingly good or horribly bad. The FODSPORTS FX8 is, happily, the former.

While my motorcycling days are behind me, my skiing ones are not. The FX8 mounting system fits surprisingly well into a skiing helmet with an open face. I know it would have worked with my former HJC helmet with flip up chin bar, too. In both cases the boom mic makes more sense than the soft mic.

The included speakers are way better than expected. The big dial and central function mode are easy to use, even with big skiing gloves (actually Snowboarding lobster claw ones so they’re even bulkier). Very importantly for me, it interfaces well with Siri on Apple’s iOS. So whether sending and receiving text (i)messages, playing music, or taking phone calls, it all works seamlessly. I haven’t tried the intercom system but, at this price, might grab one each for my kids for when I ski with them.

The only minor drawback is that some functionality can be complicated and there’s no way you’d know it without the manual. Buttons are easy to find and press when you know what they do (even with gloves) but some systems are not immediately intuitive. Even powering it on requires pressing two buttons simultaneously and you just have to know which ones.

Overall I’m very satisfied, especially since the price really cannot be beat.

I recently purchased 3 of these units for a 1500 mile motorcycle trip we went on through the Black Hills of South Dakota. I have to say, these made the trip even more fun and enjoyable being able to talk freely with my Brother and Dad. The range on these is very good on open flat areas but once in the hills you need to be line of site or they will start cutting out. The audio is fantastic when listening to music and can go loud enough to even hurt your ears…. One issue we had is finding the correct placement for the mic on a modular helmet. I wanted to use the small mic so routing the wire so it didn’t interfere with the helmet was a challenge but attainable. Comparing to the much more expensive Sena unit (the other 2 gentlemen had) these Fodsports seemed to work better in the hills from our experience. They kept loosing signal and were not able to communicate so they gave up. I should also mention the battery life on the Fods is pretty amazing. We never ran out of juice even on full days of 500-600 miles switching between talking and music. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good quality unit at a good price!

When I purchased this there were no reviews yet but thought I would give it shot since I wanted an intercom with an FM radio built in. The mounting system on the FX8 is such that the device makes its electrical contact with the mounting plate when latched into place. There are some spring loaded pin contacts on the plate and flat contacts on the device that when clicked into position makes its connections. There is a spring loaded release button that pulls back a latch for removal. The FM radio feature was pretty nice and there is an antenna that swings up and latches down when not needed. It’s fairly well engineered, but I found that the placement of some buttons on top which are a bit firm to push then requires an opposing grip with the thumb in order to activate the function. Without opposing the push on the buttons the leverage would severely rock this thing in its mount. I could imagine this device rocking around on its mounting plate while pushing buttons could make things loosen over time. I didn’t like the fact that the speakers are hard wired into the mounting plate, so if they ever failed I would need to purchase a new mount if even available, or try to wire in replacements. I never installed on my helmet but just looked it over weighing the pros and cons of this intercom compared to the M1-S Pro. I decided to go with the M1-S Pro. It doesn’t have the FM radio feature that I really wanted but like this unit, it also has availability for tunes to be piped in through a wire (which I don’t want), or through a Bluetooth connection from a separate device.
