Unsure why this would be an Amazon choice. I know its ‘get-what-you-pay-for’ but i was just looking for a simple toaster that worked. key word ‘worked’ – the burner on one side in each of the toaster slots is not working, and unfortunately I didn’t figure this out until after the return window closed. And when I posed the question about Mnf. Warranty – I received the standard response from Amazon that no information was available and my question would not be answered. Very disappointed that Amazon has this as their AMAZON CHOICE as I generally rely on this. Not again.

This is a no-nonsense, good old fashioned toaster. It just toasts, nothing else, just what I wanted. It only has a few extra features: wide slots for bagels or thick-cut bread, a button to extend the toasting cycle for frozen products (like waffles) and a lifter to raise the toast high so it can be snagged. There’s no electronic display or alerts, no ‘smart’ functions, none of those unnecessary bells and whistles when all you want is a competent toaster. That it blends in perfectly with my other appliances on my gadget counter is just a plus.

Our toaster of close to 20 years bit the dust. Wasn’t toasting properly anymore so we went looking for a replacement.

After researching and seeing models from cheap to expensive, one complaint that seems to be common across the board is uneven toasting. I just need it to toast bread, bagels, and egos. Anything else is a bonus. We ended up selecting this basic toaster.

A month of using it, I don’t have much to report on except that it toasts whatever I put in it just fine. You’ll have to fiddle around with the settings for the first few toasts to see what will fit your tastes but after that, it’s pretty much set and forget.

The lever mechanism to start the toaster is smooth and also allows you to lift your food up so you can retrieve it from the toaster. There is a a setting for frozen baked goods and that seems to work well. So far, I’ve had no issues with the toaster not toasting properly (uneven, burnt, etc). My only complaint is that once you depress the lever to toast and then hit the frozen button, there’s no indication that you pressed it properly and that it’s work. Minor complaint. I’ll update my review if anything changes.

This toaster looks good and worked fine for the first few weeks (just missing my return window). It has basic settings with nice wide slots for toasting bagels but the center elements totally stopped working, so it toasts only one side of the bread. Now I’m left to purchase another toaster. I recommend you save your money and spend it on another toaster. Very disappointing!
