J’aime bien la forme et l’horloge est très pratique.
I love it, the sound is good.
It was a bit complicated and time consuming for programming compared to Google Home.
I like the shape and the clock is very practical.

Good, but you know today’s technology; they want to market more and more to you until you give in – don’t fall for it. Use the mic off feature . . . and I found the sound on this version worse than regular echo dots. . . so beware if you want good sound; this one misses the mark

I needed a clock in my bedroom that I could see from my connecting bathroom. Replaced Echo Dot with this new version with clock display and with the smart bulb that came with it placed in my bedside lamp I am all set. Since osteoarthritis really slows me down, having this new echo dot that shows the time at a glance without having to waste steps to check clock or ask Alexa, and to be able to turn off and on light from anyplace in the room, makes this a real advantage for me.

Easy to use. While I was reading instructions my 11 year old grandson had it; on, changing colors, and adjusting the brightness using the “Echo” already in his room. The kid is so spoiled.

1 – After contacting their support line. I was told that the device was locked to certain flash news in Canada. Their choice is very limited and you won’t have access to some other foreign flash news channels.
2- The AI would not shut after saying stop
3- Don’t ask to translate a word. Alexa is going to say I can translate this word in Spanish

Bought this on Prime Day as a gift and guess it’s too late to return. I’ve got at least 20 some other echos between business and homes and I love them. This one I just found out is junk. The person I gave it to hates it with a passion and quit using it because it was not worth it. I thought it was them but it’s not. This thing won’t hear you lots of times unless you get within inches and shout. Sometimes it’s alright but usually not. Also seems to forget alarms at times. I connected several of my echos to their network and they perform fine. This thing is pretty, has a nice digital display, sounds good but that means little when it rarely hears you without shouting over and over.

Much smaller than anticipated. As a result I find it much more difficult to see time. Without the clock really functions like previous echo dots and I’m not sure that the additional cost is really worth the money.
This is now a second review. Tried adjusting clock to try and make it clearer to read, but still think this is a very poor feature

Nice product but we find the color of the clock itself is not conducive to night time sleeping. We wanted to replace it for our old clock radios (they have a red or blue led color), but no matter how low you dim the dot it still emits a color of light that wakes us up, especially if you look to see what time it is. I wonder if there will be a feature soon that will allow us to change the clock’s led color?

The customer tech support team calls me very promptly after i leave the original review with technical concerns. They patiently collected my feedback and provide technical solutions for the questions i have. Therefore, i update my rating to 4 stars thanks to the great customer service. The device works as expected after the initial churn of setting up.

1. Alexa setup takes 30 mins. Despite having good IT skills myself, I cannot figure out why it cannot connect to my wifi. I have to directly add it on my router admin page with its mac address to make it work.
2. The app has indeed TWO sets of serrings. One for the app itself which is useless and the real important setting for the dot is hidden. What a counter-intuitive UI??
3. The AI itself is horrible. If i want it to voice out current time, it does not understand command like “display current time”,”show current time”. And there are countless such simple examples. Come on!
I have high hopes for this device but apparently, it needs to be polished.

I’m enjoying this Echo Dot. This is new to me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Setting it up was very easy. The only thing I needed help with from tech support was using my Apple Music account to play songs. Now it doesn’t always use Apple, and that’s a little nasty, but it’s playing good music and the sound is good quality for the size. I sent the Sengled bulb back because although it was easy to set up, it’s only a 60 watt equivalent and that’s just not light enough. I wish the bulb I got to replace it was as easy to set up. If Sengled comes up with a 100 watt bulb, I’d recommend that.
I’m mostly using it to play music. And it’s much better than using a Bluetooth portable speaker with my iPhone. That’s just a little clunky and you have to keep recharging the speaker. With this, it’s plugged in, so no recharging. I really like that. I’m going to try the $99 model for the enhanced audio, and put this one in the bedroom.
It can hear me from across the room, I can ask it to start my day and it gives me a little news and the weather report. I’m still exploring it so I haven’t experienced all it can do.

The Echo Dot 4th Generation is so far a disappointment. Most of the time it does not respond to the wake word, and when it does, it then goes back to sleep and doesn’t listen to the request/command. This is a major disappointment as the other echo’s I have all work flawlessly.
***update***
It has been sent back. I would not recommend the Echo Dot 4th Gen to anyone until there are some serious issues resolved. The Dot would become unresponsive and unusable after disconnecting a bluetooth device, and the only way to resolve it was to unplug it. Sometimes it required a complete reset to make it work right. Hopefully these issues are resolved in the future as I did like the device when it functioned correctly.

First of all, It looks awesome ! I am an echo user who bought 2nd and 3rd generations of echo dot, but 4th generation has amazing look!
Second, sound quality improved! , I am not expert of music, but it sounds much more clearer and premium!!!
Lastly, I recommend to buy a echo dot with time display, it worth even if you have to pay 10 dollar more!
I wish there are black version echo dot (4th) with time display!
