With the regular holder I used to have piles of coffee in the water tray and would need to clean it every 3-4 days, probably losing about 10-15% each time I make a coffee. With the funnel I now retain nearly all of my coffee!
Has been a great buy and I highly recommend it if you are having same issue.

I was hesitant because the portafilter doesn’t fit in the holder under the grinder with the funnel on top, but I don’t lose grinds anymore. Turned out to be no problem at all.
It’s a must. Simple, well made and effective.

Why isn’t this included with most espresso machines? It’s super useful, and makes it way easier to avoid spilling any coffee. Just a really solid product that every coffee-lover should have

This Matow Dosing Funnel is really good quality, heavy stainless steel.
It fits onto the Breville’s 54mm group head, to funnel grounds into the filter basket, which is fine if you use pre-ground coffee.
However one of the three primary functions of the (Breville Barista Pro / Breville Oracle Touch) machines is the built-in grinder — using this funnel with the grinder support crutch is not possible, as it is too thick to fit under the grinder outlet, and holding in place will not work as the back of the ground head does not reach the button behind it, in order to activate the grinder. Fail.

It is a lifesaver for keeping the bottom of espresso machine clean. No more mess, and it catches all your grinds wonderfully.
It is a solid piece of metal that feels good in your hand and is polished and looks good

I loved it. It helps driving the consistency on having the right amount of coffee in the porta filter (no waste; and always the same amount of coffee). It also stops the mess!
Beware that you need to position on the tray and press the button with your finger. Also, it is so solid that is heavy! But after few days you get used to it.

Seemed good but came opened and was with grounded coffee leftovers by the previous owner/shopper, especially it is during the time of pandemic, Amazon definitely should do better by sanitizing these returned items before putting them back to shelf!!!!

I do not recommend it for any Breville actually. I should have read the other reviews closer – it DOES NOT FIT a Breville Grinder saddle. I will keep it, my bad. Get a 54 mm sniffer cup that fits the saddle and operates the grinder trigger. Stand alone grinders all have their own cups.
My rating is for the build quality, fit and reduced waste.
I make it work by putting the funnel on the Breville grouphead – which it fits perfectly. I place it under the grinder saddle, on the drip tray. Reach under and press the button that the grouphead would normally trigger. The top of the funnel is wide enough to make sure all the grinds do not spill all over. No need to press the button again to pause. Remove the GH and funnel from the tray, spin the tamper to spread and tamp all in one motion. Remove funnel and presto, ready for coffee. Read on for more.
**Three month edit: After using this, I have to give it a higher review than before. It is not MATOW fault that it does not fit a Breville semi. If you are willing to manually press the “magic” grind button, this works nicely. You move it around slowly under the grinder exit, while the grind is taking place, letting the coffee fill every part of the grouphead. The funnel keeps the coffee from spilling over the sides and you actually get a better dose than if you just put the GH in the saddle and let the grounds spill all over. However, it is still not convenient, loss of a star.**

A must-have if you use a standalone grinder. My espresso shots are so much better and more consistent now – with no mess!
Funnel sits perfectly well on the outer rim of the portafilter and allows tamping.

If using a Moka pot: The item looks great, but when filling the basket with grinds, the grinds sit on top of the basket rim and consequently need to be wiped off to seal. I’d prefer the dosing funnel to just sit inside the basket to prevent the grinds needing to be wiped from the rim, (which is meant to be one of the primary functions of this item to prevent stray grinds and improve efficiency).

I bought this for use with my Breville Barista Express which has a 54mm porta filter basket. It works really well. It fits well and has enough weight to it that it doesn’t slip off or get knocked off easily. It’s also a good height so no spillage. I’m very happy with it overall.

The item I got sent looked liked the dosing funnel in the pictures. However it
1. would not fit my Breville barista pro portafilter.
2. the dosing filter extended 2 Inches from the base, almost like it was meant to fit into the portafilter but did not, have since returned the item.
