Great product. Very sturdy and nothing will get stuck in the handle (& being one piece handle can’t come off in 2 years like my old masher did). Potatoes get stuck a bit in the slots, but I expected that and a couple taps on a sturdy pot helps loosen it out. I recommend to rinse or wash immediately after use. GREAT PRODUCT

This is way better than what i used before. My old one had round little holes and was so difficult to clean which is why bought this one.

Fantastic masher, and very easy to clean! Coldwater, not hot as many of the comments seems to be about struggling to clean this product. Coldwater helps break the starch down quickly, just rinse under the cold tao then hot soapy wash after – simple.

In the past we’ve had plastic potato masher’s that are easily broken by strong man trying to help in the kitchen this is nice and sturdy won’t break does a great job

Great kitchen tool, durable and easy to use.
Mashes any soft food in seconds.
The cleaning part is not a big deal: with a couple of kicks on the sides of the bowl, hot water and long-bristled brush there is no left much place to complain.
Dishwasher’s top rack friendly.
My mother-in-law used it once and asked me to get one for her (on my list of life’s achievements it’s like getting an Oscar).

I really appreciate the design for this masher’s ease of being cleaned. I eventually realised that the metal mashers I had been using over the years were causing damage to the inner base coatings of saucepans via the inadvertent abrasive action created when being used – so they have now become a no-no. There are other non-metal mashers on the market but this nylon ‘OXO’ one has had a bit of thought invested in it’s design such that it has become a winner with me. It’s sturdy enough to last a good time too, which alleviates my concerns about the price – plus it ought to save me a few bob by not having to replace saucepans I’d ended up causing scratch-damage to the coating of so often.

I like the design and how strong it is. The only thing that i am little bit not happy is that it is very big. The material is great and it is also very easy to clean. I just have to make space for it in my kitchen now since it is big.

Worst Inever used… does a terrible job and it is really annoying to wash after using… Plus, it is really bulky and hard to store properly in a drawer

As someone else already pointed out, the slots are close together and mashed potato gets stuck and will not budge no matter how hard you tap the masher on the side of your pot.
However, it takes about 30 seconds to scrap out each slot with a table knife. And since the close slats make mashing go fast, it’s no big deal. For that reason, I prefer it to any masher I’ve had. It mashes a good sized pot of potatoes very quickly without having to press down really hard.
It comes out spotless when you put in the dishwasher.

Item was completed garbage. On first use, which was on wayyy overcooked potatoes (they were practically mash already) on the second or third “mash” I heard a snap. And to my horror I look down and brand new masher is in pieces.
I should have known better, you get what you pay for – buyer beware.

This potato masher is excellent. It made a tedious job easy and effortless for my arthritic hands and with a dash of added milk and butter, made lovely creamy mash. I didn’t find it was a problem to clean any more than any other masher. A quick run under a hot tap immediately, job done.

Overall I’m really happy with this potato masher. It works really well compared to the previous one I was replacing. Doesn’t require much strength or effort to get really nice mashed potatoes.
My only frustration is that cleaning is is a bit tricky. Often the grooves get potato starch stuck to them and it can be hard to wash. I’ve started making sure I have a hot bowl of soapy water ready for as soon as I’m finished using it so I can set it to soak before anything gets too stuck on.
Would probably be fine in a dishwasher.

As a fan of Oxo Good Grips utensils and needing a new potato masher I bought one, they are at the higher price range but will last a good many years. The masher performed well, mashing the cooked potato to a lovely and creamy, lump free pile of yumminess surprisingly quickly. Providing you rinse the masher or put it in water immediately after use, it is easy to clean. I thoroughly recommend this masher
