Pretty sturdy. Bought it to do harder pressing than possible with a stick one. But with too hard pressure it will bend like all of these. Wish they would design the arms with an L kink to add a lot more strength, but no such thing seems to exist. So as they go, this one is very good, with thicker metal than most I’ve seen.

Less pressure, pain and blood sweat and tears this masher will give you what you want…….smooth mash potato without developing a hernia. I have owned one for some time and it is a joy to use so I purchased a second one for a family member who was struggling with the old fashioned vertical handle…..an instant hit! This is great especially if you are relatively small or not very strong and it will make mince meat of any potato!

This thing is exactly what is needed to effectively mash boiled veggies. It’s easy to hold, easy to use, doesn’t tire the hand, and is seemingly unbreakable (which is really nice!). It’s design is simple and its construction is lightweight and sturdy. Very good product. Highly recommended.

Potato masher love it’s easy to use/clean. The curve in the masher works perfectly with the curves of the pot. Makes it easy to get all the potatoes mashed. (Hope that makes sense)

The previous version of this masher, shorter, stockier, thicker metal and a better grip, was brilliant, last us over 3 years. This one, sadly, has last less than a month. It has too long a reach, the metal is thinner and softer so it flexes and bends but never can you get it back to it’s optimum shape again. Loved the original version, this one is just a poor parody of it.

I have had as arthritis since the age of 11. I cope with most things but mashing potatoes is one of the hardest domestic tasks I encounter on a weekly basis. Most mashers are either hard to hold or have a hanging loop which doesn’t make it easy if your hand can’t adapt. This masher would be easy for anyone to use. As long as push gently down, with one or two hands, you will be able to mash potatoes with ease. Brilliant, brilliant product.

I am giving 3 starts for quick delivery. The masher looked very good and solid but I did not use it because I found it to be too short for what I needed it for. The height of it was the problem so I returned it right away. I normally use a pot to mash my potatoes for a large family so I wish they can make a few different sizes as I would need it a bit tall.

Happy after using it to make mashed potatoes directly in my Instant Pot. Very comfortable and functional. Previous reviewer’s commented that the size is large, it is a regular size mashed potato tool….. perhaps a tad bigger but nothing to comment about

Not very hefty, awkward to use, I would pass on this one. I am buying another one. Too light to make effective work of mashing. To design makes it uncomfortable to work with.

I kept bending my previous potato masher. This masher has two columns so the force is distributed very evenly so it doesn’t bend. This is easy to use, works well and is easy to clean and store.

This potatoe masher was sturdy and well made but it is of no use to me since my pots and pans are non-stick. The potatoe masher scratches non-stick pots. So for me, it was useless, but this is my own fault. I need a potatoe masher meant for non- stick pots and pans

I was looking for a masher I could use despite having rheumatoid arthritis and peripheral neuropathy, and this one is perfect. Its nicely made with no sharp bits and it washes really well, but more than that it makes the exercise of mashing anything – potatoes, butternut squash, carrots, whatever you are wanting to squish, a much easier exercise than it had been before with my conventionally shaped/designed mashers. It takes a lot of the effort out of the wrist, and the orientation of the grip makes it much easier to work with, I am only wondering why it took me so long to realise I needed this gadget in my kitchen. Definitely recommended, and my husband – who does not have any disability – is just as happy as I am with it, we still have our old mashers but he always uses this one when it’s his turn to do the veggies. Definitely recommended.

Having had plenty of other OXO Good Grips products, I figured it would be a good move to replace our old masher that was falling apart.
Stupid mistake! The edges of the metal are particularly sharp. The handle is not up to standard (comes apart). But worst of all – the whole thing bends after a single use of mashing potatoes! Appalling how badly made this is.
I honestly have no idea how this is getting so many good reviews. Those people must either be fake or use it to mash pints of water.
AVOID!
