As advertised. I love this unit. I used an external thermometer to test the accuracy and it was dead on. It is quick and efficient. The “keep warm” function is useful as I like to walk away and take my time. I also use this for my french press coffee. It’s perfect.

Didn’t even last a year before it stopped working. Contacted Cuisinart for warranty and was told I’d have to pay shipping both ways for them to replace it which would end up costing almost as much as I paid for it.

I purchased two of these units in December 2016 (approx. 10 months ago) – both as gifts. Unfortunately the bottom of one is now leaking and soaks the counter each time it is left with water in it. I contacted Cuisinart to see if they would help, and they were open to it, however advised that we would need to pay for shipping to and from the facility. I am in Canada, and the facility is somewhere in the US …. as the unit is somewhat heavy – this cost may not even be worth it. Even at that, there would be no guarantee of what they would be willing to do. I saw a review for this unit just a week or so ago on Amazon – same issue, so assuming Cuisinart is aware they have a problem. I loved the kettles until this happened …. really wish Cuisinart or Amazon would step up and make this a good experience for buyers. Buyer Beware.

This kettle worked great for the first 7 months until it started leaking at the base. I won’t buy again.

Positives: Looks great. Feels solid. Heats quickly. Many settings. Negatives: Defaults to ‘keep warm’. Started leaking after 2.5yrs.

I actually really love this kettle. However less then a month after I received it, it started leaking excessively! I would come back after using it and turning it off and my counter and floor would be covered in water from the kettle. Because it’s exactly past one month after the purchase date – not when I received it, I am unable to return it. I bought a Square Trade extended warrantee which is basically a joke. I don’t think I’m going to see any help in getting a replacement or refund. I should have just bought this from a regular store where they would have replaced it!!

I bought this Kettle as Cuisnart has been a good product in the past. I received this kettle around Nov 08 2018 and it gets used maybe once or twice a day maybe 5 days in a week. On Mon Jun 10th 2019 I filled it with water plugged it in & pressed the temperature button then start and it was about 45 to 60 seconds later I hear a beep & all the lights were off and it hadn’t boiled the water as well as the Kettle being cold to touch. I emailed customer service the next day, Jun 11th, & it is Fri Jun 14th & had no reply. I phoned today & was told I had to send it back to Ontario @ my expense even though I have had it for 7 months. Not impressed at all. I will get in touch with Amazon to see if they can do anything. Would not recommend at all!!

After reviewing so many tea kettles, I decided to purchase Cuisinart CPK-17 Programmable Kettle. First of all, it’s made of stainless steel which preserves the taste of water and doesn’t give off hint of rusty taste. It looks so neat in our modern kitchen. I love having 6 temperature modes so you can choose a different setting for each kind of tea. I drink herbal teas all the time and it’s a big no-no to use boiling water as it ruins the taste and its healthy properties. My husband loves green tea which needs even lower temperature. 1.7-liter capacity is pleanty for a big family or having guests over.
As a mom, I love having non-slip stay-cool handle and ability to use the lowest temperature for my little one. Plus, it’s BPA free and doesn’t accumulate mineral build up on the bottom.
It’s so easy to use: one touch! Plus having light, sound and “keep it warm” function easily indicate at what stage your kettle is if you are busy running around the house. This kettle memorizes your last preference so again, it’s one touch.

I was sceptical at first. My wife wanted this because she has a tea craze now. We have enough different tea varieties in our pantry to open an artisan tea shop at the farmers market and to cure every possible disease imaginable if you believe the health benefits of each on of them. As my wife made me a North African mint that evening using our new kettle, which was supposed to calm me down after Kory from audit rattled my faith in humanity that afternoon, I noticed that the green tea leaves didn’t infuse the bitterness I was so used to loathe. I tried an oolong the next day when my wife was away. I don’t know what an oolong is, but it tasted decent and the kettle had a setting for it. I started to realize that each tea has its perfect steeping temperature and using the kettle made it easy for me to steep the perfect tea each time. Anyway, long story short, I really hate Kory but this kettle allows me to steep perfect teas which calm me down and make me a better person. I recommend it.

I am a tea lover and thought this would be too much trouble choosing what type of tea, but this is the most simple electric kettle I have ever used. Highly recommend.

Great kettle in many ways, but it started to leak after less than one year of use. I guess we’ll go through the warranty process. Cuisinart wants $10 for s/h and we have to pay for it to get to the service centre. Not sure if it’ll be worth it

Once the system is done, and you put it back on the base, it keeps flashing and is annoying. Only solution seems to be leave it off the base until it cools.

Buyer beware – we have had the kettle for just over a year, and the bottom is now leaking tremendously. If we leave any water in the kettle, you can be sure the counter and anything on it will be soaked. Kettle is great when it works, so enjoy it while it lasts – my recommendation would be to buy a different kettle and avoid the risk, particularly for a kettle that is fairly expensive like this one.
I have contacted Cuisinart with my concerns and will update the post if they replace or repair the kettle. For now, one star and buyer beware.
