Great product, works flawlessly, an expensive item but worth the money to have mobile wifi. Will come in handy when overseas. The fact it was unlocked means I can place any international sim card into and it’ll work.

    UPDATE – December 2016
I’ve now had this for 12 months and it’s still working perfectly. I would say the only negative about this device is the battery life.

Of continuous usage you’ll get 5-6 hours, with no more than two devices using it simultaneously (this was proven on a week long holiday with the Mrs). Other than that it’s great and perfect for my needs when out and about.

I have bought a new sim card from Bell inserted into the unit but it does not read the card. Bell tried to get it going with no luck. It keeps saying Insert sim card. In other words does not read bell sim card. I have contacted supplier 5-6 times with no responds. Wasted my money.

    This is a GREAT product.

I bought this to take on holiday (to Malta), as the place we were staying did not have WIFI.

Concerned about some of the unlocked reviews, I tested this before I left, by purchasing a Three SIM – as the comments said it was locked to the EE network. I had NO problems using it. All you need to do is create a new profile using the console/UI (see manual) for your relevant SIM (in this case Three) and you’re good to go. For help with the settings just google APN settings and enter the relevant ones for your SIM

When abroad, I created a new Profile for my GO Malta SIM (again new APN settings) and it worked amazingly well. I suggest disabling the roaming so it doesn’t keep disconnecting. You can do this using the console/UI – this happens as a safety thing.

We had 3 phones, an iPad and an Apple TV (yes we are an Apple household) and all connected, with no problem (home and abroad). The Apple TV ate up LOADS of data, but that’s my fault 😉

I also have hopefully ‘future-proofed’ myself as it’s 4G enabled…My SIMs (mentioned above) were 3G (because 4G coverage is currently a bit unpredictable), but I still got great speeds… Approx. 18 Mbps – Yes, I did a speed test 😉

I have just taken delivery of my E5776s-32 for which I paid £76.71 including Prime delivery and VAT.

The order was sold by and fulfilled by Amazon. The E5776 is an “original” Huawei unit WITHOUT any EE firmware.

According to the Huawei branded box the LTE coverage is B1, B3, B7, B8, B20.

In Spain all LTE coverage is B3 & B7
    Portugal is B3, B7, B20
    Germany is B3, B7, B20
    France is B7
    Belgium is B3

    In the UK
    3 uses B3 & B20
    Vodafone uses B20
    O2 uses B20
    EE uses B3 & B7

Amazon appears to have sold me a truly “unlocked” E5776 which will cover all the LTE/G4 channels in use in Europe for a very good price. I put a 3 sim in the unit which was recognised and set up automatically.

    So far, so good.

It came on time as promised. I got a data sim card recently so I was able to test it and it works. Can’t complain.

We bought the midi as we travel a lot and thought this would be ideal. We went to France Aug/Sep 2014 for a month and we went to Orange who managed to provide a data sim for €9 and they tested it in the shop and it worked brilliantly. We then went to our farmhouse and sadly it did not work anywhere in the countryside. Over the month we found that it only worked in one large town (where we bought it) and at the airport. We tried it everywhere we went. Also, Orange only sell the standard sized data sims in an adaptor format ie the micro sim is the data card which the gadget says not to use. We are now wondering if the fashion is for all cards to move towards the micro size and wonder if our mifi will be out of date before we have used it??

I use this as a test device in my company to test connectivity using roaming SIM cards. It’s super easy to use and network selection is simple through the web interface.

They have made it as easy as possible to use, like seriously simple, that is a big plus point. The only downside is performing manual network searches can be a little slow at times.

For the price this is an excellent solution for on the fly Wifi using a data sim. It’s really sleek looking and battery life seems good so far too.

I purchased this device a long time ago. I would give five stars for quality and performance and price – once you have set up the operating system properly. There is just not sufficient guidance from Huawei, the sellers or the SIM card providers to get these devices set up quickly and easily. So they collectively lose two stars for poor guidelines on set up and usage. They could stamp “NERDS ONLY” on the box to warn us.
Now that I have learned the procedure I use the device all over the world and change the SIM and set up quickly and easily. I would not be without it. I think this inadequate service to new users is limiting more widespread usage of MiFi technology.

Manual says to use a Micro SIM card and not a Nano SIM in an adapter. So I used a Micro SIM but once inserted in the slot good luck getting it out. Tried using hair pin, needle, sliver of a credit card as a shoe horn, etc. It got pushed in past the contacts. In the end I had to forcefully and destructively open the unit.
Otherwise configuring the unit is straight-forward.
