Let me count the ways by which I reach such a conclusion. It is noteworthy that others have had better luck with these people and this machine. In some cases (e.g. WIFI limitations and multiple screens) that may be caused by the fact that most people are happy with the thing as delivered. In others (e.g. loud and rattling fan and the hassle of an not-activated operating system), beware no matter how intense your demands of the computer..
(i) The machine was shipped with Windows 10 as promised but in a version or copy that had not been activated (read not legal in the minds of the gods at Microsoft). The cure for such things is to find what is called a product key and to furnish that to Microsoft at which time, if one holds his or her mouth correctly and asks nicely, Microsoft will validate Windows for them. When USTecno (the refurbisher) people were asked about the problem, one could sense some head scratching on the other end. They then said that the product key was on a sticker on the machine but that one had to rub it (this is not a joke) to expose it. Don’t rub it too hard or you will destroy it (no this is not a joke either). I did rub it and was able to interpret the key and soive the problem after the expenditure of perhaps one-and-a-half hours of discovering that the problem existed (through some of my software being sufficiently smart to know that it was about to join a questionable enterprise) and what to do about it (learn how to get the product key so that I could convey it to the gods of Redmond). It also must be said that the attitude of the people at USTecno was decidedly arrogant and rude as though it was my problem that I had obtained a machine with an invalid version of Windows. Ultimately they would be correct in that assertion. It was my problem and a big one! Their attitude led me to resolve both to write this review and to never deal with them again or maybe with any other Amazon refurbisher.
(ii) When I tried to connect the computer to a wired connection (RJ-45) it didn’t work. I never solved this problem (read on and know that I gave up) but I expect that the issue is the fact that the old network adapter ran well on Windows 7 and will not run on Windows 10 (know that this core machine is that old and see below). At least this problem may not go back to the halcyon days of XP as described below! And you ask yourself how could a company ignore such a problem–and I would profess not to know short of some unintelligible comment about their competence. A possible cure is to buy a pci card video adapter, install it and hope that it works to recognize multiple monitors. Be ready to spend a couple hundred dollars and several hours of your time and then not to be certain about the Windows 7/10 problem and the form factor of the card until the big moment when you fire it up and learn the truth.
(iii) A corollary to the above is that the machine is apparently delivered with a dongle WIFI connector. Mine would only detect my 2.4 network and didn’t recognize the 5.0 that I wanted to use (my 2.4 is loaded and the wired connection did not work as previously stated). The reason for this failure is likely either an operating system issue (this machine was originally delivered when new with Windows 7) or a process of simply buying the least expensive thing that would facilitate a WIFI claim and cover over the non-functional wired connector described above.
(iv) When the machine was first fired up, I immediately noticed that one or both of the fans (It seems that the model likely has fans in the power supply and over the CPU) was/were very loud with an attendant rattling noise. If you have ever kept an old computer for a while, you will be familiar with the sound and maybe the results. Again one wonders if the people who rebuilt the system ever turned it on. The cure in this case in part is to buy a $135 power supply (price from Amazon) and install it yourself. If that doesn’t sound difficult, it becomes three times more so in a small form factor machine. That does not address the potential fan over the CPU. In any case the loss of a fan in a power supply is usually enough to produce toast. Another alternative is of course to wait until it dies and run the risk of losing the computer and everything on it while maybe smoking up your office or home.
(v) When I tried to connect two monitors to the system, it would not recognize and display on the second monitor. It turns out that the driver in this case is very old and was originally designed for Windows XP sometime in the distant past (with apologies to those of you who may not be sufficiently old to remember such things). The problem of the video adapter not working with multiple displays is well-known and discoverable with a bit of web research except perhaps for the people who rebuilt this machine. The cure in this case is to find the right driver in the anals of intel, download it and install it. Good luck with that if you’re not a technical guru with time on your hands.
(vi) And finally the ultimate insult. Amazon policy with this particular rebuilder, and maybe all of them, is to invoke a process which consumes one-and-a-half to two weeks before one gets money back or replacement product. If you are accustomed to Amazon’s typical accommodating process, don’t be misled. This is anything but sensible or accommodating. Amazon in this case works with these people to deliver a piece of junk and then tries to make it difficult for the customer to rectify the problem. And this ain’t a widget which is obviously bad “out of the box”. It takes work and several hours to learn about all these problems. And one strongly suspects that further persistence would only lead to more unpleasant discoveries. Like I said: “Don’t even think about it!”.

My computer looked like new and performed as if it was just new from Dell. Windows 10 Pro was loaded and the instructions to activate it through Micro Soft were easy to follow and quickly resulted in the computer being functional. I have had no challenges with this PC and am extreemly satisfied with my purchase.

Not actual 1T SSD. It was only 256GB of SSD.

First, be aware that the unit you are buying has been UPGRADED. Things such as HDMI and Bluetooth and SD card slots are yesterday’s news. I purchased this unit because it came with great horsepower and from a very reliable manufacturer and refurbisher. As I was out of the loop for 12 years, it appears things have improved! This is not a criticism – I am completely satisfied with TecnoCanada’s refurbished Dell – the value I have received for the dollar outlay is remarkable -AND the monitor ports are better, the SD card slots are superfluous and why do you need Bluetooth? What sold me was the 1TB SSD – I shoot RAW, and this mainframe offers me unquestioning speed, without lag and heat, as I convert my photos. Highly recommended.

2 towers from these people. 9010 7010. Neither are proper tower sized. Both noisy as all heck. I’m so glad I had a
LOW PROFILE GTX 1050 ti for my 7010 or I would have been screwed. Can’t say the same for the 9010. My msi gtx 1050 ti wouldn’t fit so I had to downgrade. I only have yhe 7010 for 2 months and I think I need to buy a new power supply. Why does the 9010 whistle? Also missing a mouse. It was there in my 7010.

It’s a ~5-year-old Dell PC refreshed with Windows 10, a no-name SSD, and 16GB of RAM (2x8GB) as advertised. It’s a quiet and compact mini-workstation w/integrated graphics.
The PC itself is a robust design, as evidenced by its survival after bouncing around in an inadequately padded shipping box. We could feel the PC moving around loose in the box before opening the carton. That said, the damage appears superficial: a chipped-off part of the case faceplate/clip (found inside the case) + the notebook-style DVD drive was slightly out of alignment, and its faceplate needed to be popped back into place. Made sure the rest of its innards looked OK, and it fired right up and seemed to work just fine.
It’s only been a day, but I’m cheering for the battered little guy to go the distance.
Tip: the Dell service sticker on the box led me to a 2018 BIOS update that was 6-years newer than what was on there – usually a good idea for running older hardware w/Windows 10.

The computer was up and running a few minutes out of the box, and has been working for over a month since. The solid-state drive is sizable and quite fast. Considering that the refurbished unit costs a little over half of the retail version, this may be the best bargain I’ve purchased on Amazon. Purchase without fear.

Judging by the comments of others, it is apparently the luck of the draw as to whether you receive an acceptable computer. The physical condition of the unit I received was totally unacceptable. The problems included: (1) a dent on the front; (2) the case could not be closed because of a bent closure tab; (3) two missing rubber “legs” on the bottom; (4) on the back, no cover where another drive could be added; (5) numerous scratches and chips on the case; (6) front loose; (7) former sticker locations not cleaned; no new stickers. The computer I received in no way had the appearance of the computer pictured on Amazon. The Amazon description said: “Our refurbishing process allows you to get a computer that is like new inside and out.” This was absolutely not my experience. I am returning the computer to BAP Technology in Conroe, Texas, and will not be ordering another like this.

Buyers beware when buying a computer on Amazon through the PC refurbishing company (HiTech Bay Inc) sold by TecnoCanada. It is a combination of Highly incompetent and Semi competent! I bought a Dell Optiplex “Desktop” and they sent me an “SFF” PC. Your recourse is, to contact the company via Amazon and they have up to 2 days to reply before further action (maybe) required. Fortunately, they are competent enough to reply quickly. I explained the issue that I received the wrong PC. They required a picture proof and yet after sending the Proof, they still claimed that I had the right PC even though I “Clearly” didn’t!!! The Amazon (clear description for this PC) was for a “Desktop” NOT a “SFF” PC. First they offered me an insulting $20-$30 refund, if I keep the item! I asked them to honor their commitment for my purchase or issue a full refund. Luckily, they were (competent/agreeable) enough to rectify the situation after (they realized that the Amazon Picture “PC Configuration” didn’t match the description!) and I sent the item back via a UPS drop off and they received the tracking info. Then, 1 week later I had the proper PC. Also, when you reply to HiTech Bay emails, don’t expect them to answer your email requests (like, send a picture of the item before re-sending it!) they only (seem to) generate new emails or send a “very general” reply, pertinent to your delivery. The important thing is, I got the proper “Desktop” PC and it works very well for a refurbished PC (looks good) & it’s a great money saver. So, not to malign the entire company from this one incompetent initial transaction, I have to say that the people responsible for the actual refurbishing of this PC did a fine job! I would highly recommend this particular PC, the Dell Optiplex 7010 “Desktop”. I also ordered in the past, a Dell Optiplex 9020 MT (excellent PC) but it was through a different (Competent) third party vendor. *I would suggest, when you buy a PC on Amazon, make sure that the configuration of the PC (displayed in the picture) actually matches the description (rarely, the picture doesn’t match – but the description is always accurate) Take Note that Refurbished PC’s can Be Ok all depending on the refurbishing company (so do your research on the company first!) The Dell Optiplex 7010 “DeskTop” with only 16GB Ram & I7 Quad Core is a Good PC for General Home or Office purposes & the price was Good. After 2 months of constant use (at the time of this review) the PC is Performing without issues!

I was impressed when the computer arrived two days before the specified delivery date. However I did have some problem with the computer and I can’t say enough about how the support technicians tried to help get things sorted out. We did not have much luck and it was their suggestion that I return the computer for replacement or refund. I chose replacement and the new one came withing three days. This one runs like a dream. Extremely fast, lots of storage. With the support I received and how the new one works I would not hesitate to buy from this company again.

I have purchased this amazing machine to replace my Alienware X51 R3 (after losing the motherboard). It was delivered as freight (18 lbs) from “Eagan, MN, United States” to “Halifax, NS, Canada” via UPS. The machine is so clean and the package was so secured, well prepared, and surrounded by lots of foam. There was a little delay in Lachine, QC – but I have received it 7 days earlier than the estimated arrival day. This marginal delay happened because it was considered as a special item and some extra paper works, related to international imports, were required. UPS completed all the official works on behalf of me.
I bought “DP to HDMI” cable to connect the PC (it has DP connection) to my screen (it has HDMI connection). When I tried to run the machine, there was a need to reset the windows (it is Windows 10 Pro). I did that step at night because this step takes a long time .. and here we go, the machine is as it is described here; it has 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and 8-core i7 with an amazing clocking rate. I didn’t notice any noise, it is such a quiet PC. Its booting and shutdown actions are so fast.
Also, the seller, TECH MART, provided a new mouse and keyboard plus a small WiFi Dongle so no need to use an ethernet cable to connect it to the internet. Also, the customer care representative was so kind to me. They sent me a refund of $60 for some extra shipping fees that I have paid to UPS and they provided me a phone number so I can call them if I need any help or if I face any technical issue with my PC.
It is nice to have a PC with lots of USB ports; in back and front.
The solid-state drive that I have is this one:
https://www.amazon.ca/Inland-Professional-Internal-Solid-State/dp/B07FM9SSP6
which costs around 220 Canadian dollars alone.
The RAMs take 4 slots of the motherboard, and there are two remaining slots. The next step is to buy a GPU and then it will be ready for my heavy numerical analysis 🙂
