Probes are great. Colour coding is a great idea. Bluetooth has worked fine for us although it doesn’t reach very far. I love the idea of this set up but there are a lot of issues that NEED to be changed. First: biggest issue is the beeping on the actual device at the 10 degree warning. Why can’t I turn this off?!?! Super frustrating. When you are inside and the damn thing starts beeping like crazy and won’t stop until you press the button on the device. Second: why can’t I change the temperature setting on the preset options? Instead of having to create a ton of new ones I should be able to edit the preset ones as often as I would like. Or better yet just set a temperature without having to be a “preset label” Third: there is a warning setting on the app for however many degrees before it reaches your temperature of choice but not for when it actually reaches temperature?
If these things were corrected this would be a 5 star for sure

The Bluetooth phone app requires full access to everything on your phone to launch, including camera, all files and location must be turned on. Without all that, the app will not function. This is highly invasive and a security vulnerability. This app could phone home any data, location and Personally Identifiable Information (PII) from the phone with every use. It could also access the camera without your permission. I haven’t dug down to prove that anything is being exfiltrated, but the app shouldn’t need that kind of access to function unless the company wanted to data mine your Personally Identifiable Information. Strip down the app of all the invasive stuff and I’d use the product.

I bought a TP20, worked great! Gave it to my buddy because this new phone based one came out. I figured the tp20 worked so well this company might no what they are doing. NOTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do I need to add more exclamation points!
Looks great, sets up easy, connects, right away. And then it disconnects, and it disconnects.
Switch apps, disconnects. Phone sleeps, disconnects. close the app, disconnects. You get the idea! The only way to reconnect is to go over to the probe unit and turn it on/off. What a pain!
I don’t know if it’s the app or firmware on the unit but this probe is useless as is. Gotta find someone I dislike to give to to.

The probes themselves are nice in a group review though, the app absolutely blows. Last time i used it if i so much as tried to rotate my phone the app crashed and had to restart. Its not a huge deal but you do lose your estimated time to completion and graph. If you can fix the app it would be much higher rated

This product has the potential to be a 5 start product. the quality is great the thermometer it self is very accurate and the app updates its temperature less than a second after the thermometer registers a change. Sounds like a great product but, as soon as you lock your phone or change to a different app (even if you leave the thermopro app running in the background) the thermometer will disconnect from your phone thus not giving you any alerts or keeping track of what you are cooking. If the app would stay connected to the thermometer and keep track of the cook this would definitely be a 5 star product. Hopefully thermo pro can fix their app or i will have to return the product. I’m using a Iphone 11 by the way. I know other phone brands have been having issues.

We use it for cold smoking salmon. It is extremely important to monitor the temperature so that it does not exceed 30°C . It also lets us know if it gets too cold (fire could be out). It is extremely helpful that each probe can be set individually to alert both high and low temperature range. This product keeps us aware at all times.

Bought this as I didn’t want to have to carry around a dedicated display, instead I could use my phone and the app, or at least I though so, bluetooth disconnects if the app is not constantly active and phone not in sleep. Why on earth would you shut down the Bluetooth radio???????????????????????? do I need to add more question marks? if you want to cook something in 10 mins this is great but if you want to smoke something over several hours is just not usable! Again the concept is great but the implementation is terrible. Add to that the range is no where near what’s stated, I’m sure there is some small print somewhere that states direct line of sight at 25oC with no wind and no other antenna etc in 250 miles etc. Reality is we (most of us) live in multiple story properties (houses and or apartments) with multiple other bluetooth items. Until they iron out the poor implementation and the poor range issues stick with what you already have! I am going to cancel my gym subscription as I get more than sufficient exercise walking back and forth to reactivate the bluetooth radio and hence visually check temp doing at the unit when doing a 10 hour smoke.

I purchased this instead of some more expensive devices based on its Amazon ratings. I have used it one time so far. I used all 4 probes. Pros: – I have never had a 4 probe system. So nice to be able to see the temperature of everything. I even left one just on the grill to determine the grill temp. – Nice graphs for each probe – Worked from about 200 feet away. When it disconnected it would let me know by alerting me. When reconnecting it would just start working again. – Nice packaging to store it. – All hardware seems nice and solid
Cons – Alerts are pretty naggy; but I think that is a good thing also. They kept beeping, but I needed to watch a few more minutes of the game and could not get up.
So far I like it and would recommend it.

This thing has been great. I did test the distance on a cold winter’s night and made it about 325 ft from my back yard before it disconnected. The app is seamless and easy to use. I like the fact that the alarm goes off on the unit AND your phone if you’re above/below your preset temps or if you’ve reached the internal temps on your meat/poultry, etc. I bought this to use with my Weber Smokey Mountain. I appreciate the grate clip to attach one probe to the grate so I can measure the internal temp of the smoker, leaving 1-3 probes available for whatever I am smoking. Excellent features and accessories for the price. Micro USB is so-so, but at least I won’t be hunting for batteries. Great thermometer.
