This sharpener exceeded my expectations! The suction to my countertop is very strong, no worries about it moving at all. It does a great job sharpening all of my knives and scissors. So glad I bought this it, it is so much easier and better than the sharpener my knife set came with.

It took a little bit to figure out exactly how to use this tool effectively. The instructions are as clear as they can be, for something that requires a bit of technique. I havent tried the scissors sharpener yet, but the two knife sharpening parts seem to work quite well. The suction cup works way, way better than I was expecting; it does not budge even a little bit, once in place. Especially if you take the advice of other reviews, to wet the suction cup a bit before placing it down. Excellent little gadget

I am not sure I used the scissors sharpening bit properly (cos they were still not cutting … but mmm I just used my sharpening stone instead for the scissors and that was great .. however the serrated knife sharpening is great ! Certainly easier that’s for sure .. I still use my normal sharpening stone for my best knives though ;P

I was amazed to see how it sharpened my knives. I don’t like to toss knives and buy new ones. If you are like that then this is not recommended. I love my knives and once they started to get blunt I was getting worried about them. I didn’t know this is an option to sharpen knives. This is so easy to use and just after few minutes of sharpening the knives have revived. My knives got new life. So happy that I get to keep my old knives and they have become so sharp as new. The suction is great it stays out in the countertop when sliding the knife blade. This is a great sharpener tool for anyone who love their knives.

I love having very sharp knives in my kitchen, as anybody that knows me will tell you, as I love to cook I recently managed to slice through a knife sharpener! while sharpening a knife. I cannot use a steel, so I thought I would try this from Amazon.
This is without a doubt one of the best sharpeners I have ever had. It even even sharpened the blade on my Magimix food processor. Saved me lots of money. I am very impressed. I would recommend anybody try this. £9.99. You can also buy new blades. It sharpens straight, serrated, scissors and lots of other metal kitchen stuff. It Even has one for sharpening ceramic knives! Small but brilliant.

Tried both knives and scissors and have no idea how this earned so many positive ratings.
Impossible to sharpen scissors because there is no guide and angle can change with each stroke.
Knives got duller instead of sharper. I can do better using the circular ridge on the bottom of a dinner plate …which is what I had to resort to so we could carve some meat.
Suction let go on a knife stroke and knife missed slicing my leg by just a hair.
For me this product is unsafe and failed on every count!
Thank you Amazon Prime for the prompt refund. I’ll try a different product.

Works perfectly, and is super easy to use. My knives are now really sharp! Sticks to my (granite) countertop with an amazingly strong hold. Worked well with my scissors, though the instructions for that could stand to be a bit clearer. I have not tried it on a serrated knife.

I like the compact size of this. It will fit easily in my kitchen drawer and therefore will be handy when I want to use it. I am not a professional chef, so I expect this will serve my needs well. I suctioned it to my ceramic countertop. It held extremely well. Perhaps with time you would have to moisten the bottom of the suction cup – which is just normal wear and tear. I sharpened only a couple of knives so far – but it worked fine. At this price I have no complaints and would recommend it for kitchen knives and scissors.

I had an old, dull knife set that I was able to make sharp again! It’s barely noticeable but some of the edges are a little jagged or uneven but some of that is likely do tp my technique. I added a little water to the suction as I read elsewhere and I was able to sharpen 12 dull knives with no problem.
Pros: Fast and easy to use.
Cheap
Small
Gets the knives really sharp
Cons: Not clear instructions on how to use the scissor sharpener
Knives arent left with a perfect edge
Note: as I was gently brushing away some of the metal shavings off a knife, using the rough green part of a sponge, it sliced right through it with so much ease that it sliced my thumb and I had to go to the ER. So I gave it another star.

For ages I have been looking for something decent to sharpen scissors, and knives. I have used sharpening stones, steels, little fiddly things I have found on here BUT this is perfect. So happy as I was trying to buy ANOTHER pair or scissors now I do not have to. Highly recommended.

I’ve used the standard knife sharpeners before but this one you can actually see it trimming the metal on the knife so it returns it to it’s previous shape and sharpness. I must admit I was dubious about how good it would be, but thought I’d give a slightly more expensive one a go and am so glad I did. Plus it does bread knives ad scissors. which some other don’t. It’s nice to be able to rely on my knives again without going to the expense of buying brand new ones. I would definitely recommend this over cheaper knife sharpeners, it’s very good.

Purchased this for my old cooking knife set. Tried using wet stone but you need a lot of experience and skill to get a good result. Used this on one of my old dull butchers knife and after about 6 passes and the course part and 6 on the fine the sharpness improved a lot.
Only issue is it’s not clear how to use the scissors part of the sharpener. I ended up using google and it works just as intended.

I probably wouldn’t use this on an expensive chef’s knife, but I have some mid-range German knives with standard edges that sharpened perfectly in this. I also have some off-the-shelf Walmart blades that also sharpened very easily and cleanly. The suction holds well to any smooth surface (note that it gave way after about 10 minutes of non-use). Not sure how long it will last, but for the price it should maintain your knives well. If you have low to mid-range knives, I would recommend this tool.
