I had an Airplay (v1) speaker from Panasonic that had been working great for a few years but it has been flaky with wifi connections and I was keen to find something that had better sound.
The Roku Streambar appeared to be a winner, as it would work with Airplay (v2 actually) and it would also be a very power efficient Netflix/Prime streamer as opposed to using a game console to stream.
Things got far too complicated when I tried to use it. What I wanted was to be able to have my game console audio come through the TV and/or through the Streambar, and I wanted the option of having the game console audio through the TV while having Airplay through the Streambar (so literally playing a game on the game console while listening to music from iTunes, it seems like this would not be a unique situation?).
What actually happens is that the Roku will simply switch its audio feed from Airplay to the TV. It doesn’t ask, it just assumes that if there is audio from the TV then I couldn’t possibly want to continue to listen to audio from Airplay. It will unilaterally just preempt my choices and then only play the TV audio. If I then switch the Airplay back on again (changing the Roku source) then the Roku will override my after 30 seconds or so and go back to TV, because I couldn’t possibly be allowed to choose what I want to listen to.
So close to being a great product, but it seems like the people at Roku simply haven’t used this in a real world environment.
I contacted support and so far they cannot help aside from “restart the streambar, check for updates, factory reset”. And of course I’m not outside of Amazon’s return window.
Very disappointing. Great sound, almost a great product, but let down by extremely poor user interface.

This is my first Roku Device. I upgraded from a Samsung sound bar with subwoofer to this. I could not be happier. It’s 3X smaller and has 5X better sound. It is crisp and clear and the bass is just right. I like a little more bass and through the settings you can boost it. I will be buying more Roku products in the future. Excellent speaker for the price and size!

This is the perfect soundbar for us. We have an ‘old’ TV, a 30″ Samsung 1080 with HDMI ports. Now we only use the Roku remote to control everything. The sound is WAY better than the TV speakers. Very easy to use, and much less expensive than buying a smart TV.

Finally I can hear things in streaming services without blasting the volume only to have the music be at 1000 and the vocals inaudible. Roku did it.

Perfect addition to my setup as my TV does not have and arc-hdmi port. Before the stream bar I was forced to have a direct connection from the roku3 to my tv leaving me with TV quality audio.
Sound is substantially better than tv speakers, not just louder but clearer too. Is it comparable to discrete 5.1 or 7.1? No but I’m not looking for that investment for the family room.
Setup of the stream bar with Roku, network etc, took less than 5 minutes.
Unfortunately it doesn’t have a wired network connection like the roku3. I added a USB Ethernet adapter based on the Roku supported device list. (Minus 1 star)

We have had a Roku (3 actually for years) and have recommended them to everyone but the sound bar heats up and doesn’t like to work after being off for up to 12 hours. There is adequate air flow, they are not stuck on a shelf but consistently they stop working! I say they because we bought 2, they both do this so it isn’t an anomaly.

After 45 days of usage, the power button of the remote control failed. The other buttons work fine, but the power button. Called Amazon Product Support, got transferred to Roku Customer Service and did all the troubleshooting with the Roku agent. In the end, he said my control would be replaced. Few days later, I started receiving e-mails from Roku to troubleshoot my remote again and, if the email was not answered in 3 days, the ticket would be closed. I did all the troubleshooting over again and the power button still does not work. After another email, I kindly told them just to replace the remote already as was promised by the first Roku CSR. Now, the latest CSR says the remote isn’t covered and I need to send the entire Streambar back to them **at my expense** and they will replace it. Just for a remote? Nowhere in the warranty replacement policy booklet (or on Roku’s website) says anything about the remote not being covered. Great when everything works fine, hell to deal with when you have a problem. By the way, the sound bar is not great anyway, I just wanted to upgrade from the Stick. Should have got the stick. What waste of time and money. The completely unnecessary bureaucracy to just replace a defective remote control is utterly unacceptable.

We live in an apartment, so the Roku streambar saves us a lot of space and provides quality sound. Before, we had the Roku box, but there was no real way for us to get stereo sound from it. Besides shows, I use the Sirius XM app to access my satellite radio channels, and use tune-in radio too. It probably works really well with Spotify. I can also cast my Android phone to it as well. Best bit of tech I’ve bought in a while.
