usual pyrex quality at a reasonable price

This set of Pyrex measuring cups was purchased to replace a 3 year old set, where the markings on one of the cups had worn off (I wasn’t impressed that Pyrex never returned my emails regarding this issue.) Product seems acceptable so far, but only time will tell if the markings hold up to repeated use.

Great quality and happy I bought. Before buying I read a bunch of reviews from people who were saying that it would spill when pouring and no matter what they tried it never worked.
After literally 30 seconds of testing I found their problem.
If you fill any container past the highest red line, it will spill upon pouring.
If you fill it anywhere below, or up to the red line it pours no problem.
This must be a design thing.
Cheers.

I use pyrex in the microwave. It washes well in the dishwasher, cleans up easily. The only problem with it is that eventually it will lose the paint job with all the measurements on it and that’s when I have to replace it. But this latest batch included a one cup, two cup, three and four cup. The measurements are in red and easy to read. This is a good product for a busy cook like me.

I give 2 stars because they nest, which I love. Not sure if you can tell by the pictures, but the red measurement markings immediately started disappearing. I do put them in the dishwasher, however. Also, the spouts are deformed or too small because liquid slops all over the place regardless of whether you pour fast or slow. That’s okay if you’re pouring into a large bowl, but it’s a real mess trying to fill a bottle or something small, and it sure as hell defeats the purpose of measuring when it spills. I’m ready to drop kick them to the trash for these reasons. I would not buy again and do not recommend them.

Nothing beats a classic pyrex measuring cup for cooking and baking. I love that this has both metric and imperial measurements, so I can use recipes from all over the world.

I originally was only looking to replace my 2 Cup measure, but this whole set was a really good deal compared to the listings for single 2 Cup Measures, so I ordered it – and I don’t regret it! Pyrex is a trusted name, my family has used pyrex cups for decades, and as long as I don’t drop them, I know these cups will last me for years and years. Very strong and sturdy, markings that will last for ages, dishwasher and microwave safe – everything you could ask for. I’m very pleased with my purchase.

I was so excited to get this set, especially for the larger size cups. And with the name Pyrex, you would assume quality. However, they drip when pouring to a ridiculous amount. The 4-cup measure in particular is utterly unusable for pouring liquids. I tried many times over… adapting pouring speed, angle, etc. I always ended up with water all over the counter. This is completely useless. It will only be good for measuring quantities of solid items, like chopped vegetables. As liquid measures, these are terrible. I’m stunned and disappointed.

It feels like a solid product – very thick and heavy, also the printed lines feels solid (unlike others where they fade away after a few washing cycles). Expensive but seems like a one-time purchase.

I am so glad I have my full set again, as the last one met with an accident – at different times – now, once again, I can make my sauces and creams in the 8 cupper. It’s so much easier to make and pour from the same container. Thank you so much for the speedy delivery, cheers, be safe.

What happened to Pyrex. Not the Pyrex of old, design has changed and you should read.
Replacing older cups with worn print.
The ability to pour without spilling is gone. I brew hot tea, strain it into the large measuring cup, then pour it into mugs. Hot, hot, dripping spilled mess everywhere. No worries, I can get this right, I’ll try again tomorrow. Three mornings in a row, three big wet messes and a couple of burns to sweeten the deal. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you need to pour from these cups and here is why. Pyrex simply depresses the edge of their cup to form a pouring lip. It is not formed correctly and it will drip every time, running down the side of the cup. Your fluids will rush over the edges of the cup to the left and right of this tiny pouring lip. The more you attempt to get it into your other container (tea mug), the more runs down the outside of the measuring cup! Very frustrating. In contrast, I have another design that has a hooked shaped symbol, like what would be used to anchor a boat, and it works flawlessly. Here is why. This other brand has a raised lip to the left and right of the pouring lip. This FEATURE acts as a funnel to direct the fluids (really matters when it is hot), into the pouring lip with great success.
Notice the huge difference in these Amazon pics of two different product designs. Pyrex = no thought, the other = user design form, and function features. My 2 cents. I don’t do reviews, but I also do not wish for any other parents out there to find out the hard way, these can burn you OR YOUR LITTLE ONES STANDING UNDER YOU AT THE COUNTER!

These jugs are a disappointment. The glass itself is good quality and while dishwasher safe, I have noticed some of the lettering on the side is starting fade. The pouring spouts are useless and when pouring water and stocks etc more water ends up on the kitchen bench than anywhere else. There is no point to buying them, they aren’t good for pouring and the measurement markers wear.

I love love love these measuring cups. They are solid, heavy, durable, easy to clean, and just overall seem of a good long-lasting quality. I do anticipate with regular use that the markings will fade over time, but this probably and hopefully won’t happen for a while. I think the price is reasonable for what you get and they are also stackable and easy to store away without taking up a ton of space in your kitchen cabinets.
