This is my second time with this skillet, the first one lasted about five years with constant use. My failing with it was plugging it in to my stovetop electrical outlet which was a loose fit for the plug and created surges which damaged it. I plan to only use the wall outlet from now on and so hope the skillet will have a longer life. The skillet itself is great, I love that it’s ceramic and very easy to clean, I can cook huge amounts in it and it cooks evenly. I find the lid fits it well and have zero complaints about this item.

Like the big size – for when your stove already has 2 or 3 pots cooking on it & your ovens going at the same time – or even just using it on warm like a buffet – made pear pancakes this morning – no oil needed – like the idea of ceramic non-stick instead of Teflon type coating – and the heat seems to distribute evenly – I can tell a big difference between this and a cheaper version I had – how long this lasts – longer than the cheap ones for sure

I bought this product in October of 2019 and after using it for over a year and a half, I’ve decided now is the time to write a review after extensive use.
I’ve owned a Presto griddle for a few years and absolutely loved that product, so I decided to order this 16″ Presto Electric Skillet. I have to admit, I don’t love this product as much as the griddle.
Pros: Well built, sturdy (sometimes you have to tighten the legs with a screwdriver), the lid is made very well and the skillet is very deep. I needed something that I could cook big dinners in and this definitely fits the bill. The cooking surface has held up well (it isn’t peeling off), however read below for staining issue:
Cons: After a year and a half of use, it has developed an oval shaped dark stain around where the element is. We clean it right away after every use, so I’m not sure how that stain developed. The cooking surface tends to get very hot where the element is, and less hot in the middle and around the edges. So you have to really keep an eye on your food and make sure to re-position your food on the skillet for optimal heat coverage. Otherwise you’ll get unevenly cooked food.
Would I recommend this product? Probably not due do the uneven cooking surface. I will definitely hold onto this product and keep using it until it dies, but I would get a different brand next time I need a new skillet.

This electric skillet is large enough to cook for six people at once and is effortless to clean. Unfortunately it only heats over the heating element which runs along the periphery, leaving the centre of the skillet cooler. This is a problem when cooking individual chicken pieces, for example.
Update – yes it still heats up unevenly but I use it every day anyway. It is indispensable when cooking for a large family. Changed star rating from 2 to 4.

I have had the griddle for about 9 months. I use it frequently and found that it works well. It isn’t quite as non-stick as it was originally, but nothing I can’t handle. When stuff sticks on I can get it all to come off with a scotch brite scrubbing pad. The elements have made the ceramic change colour, but doesn’t effect its use. The surface has not scratched or chipped at all. I love the large size because I can easily cook a lot of food in it. I wish they made the temperature controls better, they are under the handle which makes it harder to see, plus they only go to 200 degrees and then warm.

I purchased this item a couple of weeks ago and so far, I really like it. I started using it the first day that it arrived. It’s a good size and the surface is completely non-stick and very easy to clean. It’s much better than some of the flimsier ones that I’ve used in the past. It’s fairly deep and ideal for stir-fry dishes. The temperature control seems pretty good. It is more expensive that some of the other skillets but in this case you get what you pay for. I can definitely recommend this item.

I love this product. It’s big, it’s deep, the handles are a great size to grip, etc. and it cooks very well. Easy to clean. But when you make a stew, for example, and want to simmer it, there is no simmer setting. You put it at the very bottom, below 200 degrees, just so the light is on, and still it’s way too hot to call it a simmer. It boils the liquid pretty hard. If you put it on WARM, it stays warm, but does not continue cooking. That’s inconvenient. The old one I had had a simmer, which was very useful.

This is a rally good frying pan, but it is monsterous! I would have preferred a 12 by 12 that’s the only reason why four stars! The smaller one was too much money. This frying pan though heats evening, no oil needed, non stick, easy to clean. It’s really good.
