Es stehen insgesamt zwei Schrauben für die Arretierung der Kugel zur Verfügung. Bei meinem anderen Stativkopf, der ebenfalls bis 8 Kilo ausgelegt ist, ist es nur eine. Mir gefallen die gummierten Drehrädchen an dem Pergear Kopf, außerdem lässt er sich sehr gut festziehen.
Die Schnellwechselplatte scheint dem üblichen Standard zu entsprechen. Die Schraube lässt sich innerhalb eines Schlitzes etwa 2 cm vor und zurück bewegen. Von dem anderen Stativkopf (KF Concept) habe ich ebenfalls eine Platte, diese ist allerdings etwa 1-2 Millimeter breiter.
Nun zwei kleine Nachteile:
Zu Beginn ging, trotz gelöster Schraube, die Schwenkfunktion etwas grob. Genau innerhalb der Nulllage spürte man eine Verunreinigung in der flüssigen “fluid head” mäßigen Lagerung. Nachdem ich den Kopf einige Male durchgedreht habe, scheint er nun in jeder Position weich schwenkbar zu sein. Das konnte mein anderer Kugelkopf aus der Box heraus besser.
Problem 2:
Die Spange zum Einspannen geht höchstens einen Millimeter weiter auf, als die beiliegende Platte an Platz benötigt. Das Set funktioniert innerhalb der eigenen Komponenten einwandfrei, meine KF Concept Platte passt auf das Zehntel genau nicht hinein. Schade, leider muss ich dort nacharbeiten. Dafür ziehe ich jedoch keinen Stern ab.
Unterm Strich kann ich den Kopf empfehlen. Es liegt sogar ein großes Mikrofasertuch bei. Der Kugelkopf reicht für den Hobbyanspruch aus, kann aber nicht mit einem großen Fluidhead verglichen werden. Doch wer nimmt einen sperrigen Stativkopf mit, wenn es mal schnell gehen muss? Kaum jemand. Deshalb bin ich mit dieser pragmatischen Lösung sehr zufrieden.

Again, I was amazed at Amazon’s quick delivery with standard shipping – ordered Sunday afternoon, arrived Wednesday morning. The TH3 ball head lives up to everything advertised. I’m using a Canon 6D with the 24-105 USM lens, which is a heavy brute, and the TH3 locking mechanism is tight. I feel so sorry to give this product 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the silk screened markings on the azimuth dial – they are white on a gold background and really difficult to see even in daylight (maybe even more so). I’d recommend Pergear think about changing the ink colour to black for better visibility. Apart from that, this is a good product for the price.

Bought this to hold a Nikon P900 – 2 lbs of camera, about the size of a DSLR. Very tough to turn the locking wheels hard enough to hold it steady without drooping. Also, there are a number of wheels on the thing and it’s not clear what they do – no instructions or manual i can find. I reached out to pergear and the seller but got no response.

Granted it is more fluid than most ball heads. I have 6 similar at least. And it is more fluid absolutely. However in a pinch it’s great but you’re not going to use for video. It’s only a couple bucks more than most out there and a solid quality ball head. So ya, go for this.

J’ai commandé cette tête après avoir lu plusieurs commentaires positifs. Cette tête est vraiment solide et dépasse mes attentes. Une personne a écrit que la tête est un peu difficile à bouger à cause de la boule qui ne tourne pas facilement et bien…tant mieux ! Ainsi elle ne deviendra pas “lousse” trop rapidement ! J’ai une autre tête sur laquelle la boule est plus lâche. Dès que la pression est enlevé sur la boule, la caméra va dans tous les sens alors…vive la boule plus solidement ancrée ! Je recommande fortement cette tête de trépied…ou mono-pod à 3 pattes. C’est du solide !!!

Purchased the Pergear TH3 Heavy Duty Photography Camera Tripod Ball Head for a small studio I was setting up. Needed something to hold an expensive camera — you don’t want to go cheap on that and have the camera come crashing down. The Pergear has exceeded my expectations, especially given it’s reasonable price. Well made. Solid. Good knobs and threads. Holds the camera exactly where I want it to.

This is a decent piece of equipment for a reasonable price. The ball movement is not fluid, more plastic on plastic friction. Smooth and not gritty, but not fluid. The base (rotation) is very smooth. There’s a minor movement that occurs when the head is tightened into lock position, so it may throw off a composition slightly. Overall though, I am pleased with it.

I needed this to attach to a slider i had, works great enough and holds up my camera good. I dont have any issues with it but its just not as smooth as I would like but when you set it up and have your camera mounted, it doesnt matter all that much anyways. Would definitely re-buy this for other things if I need it again.

Solid ball head, especially considering the price. It is made from very durable materials and it has reassuring heft. Movement of all the parts is smooth and well-calibrated. I bought it because it has tool-free attachment of the mounting plate on the camera. The ones that need a screwdriver or coin to install just don’t make sense to me, so I appreciate tripod head manufacturers who use a thumbscrew because they realize you may not always have a tool with you. I’m using this ball head on my Moza Slypod E and it works perfectly.
