I’ve been using these Oxo one-cup tea infusers for quite awhile, getting about 1 year of heavy use out of each one as they are robustly built. They have worked really well, giving a great cuppa with loose tea.
The downside is that after awhile the little holes will clog up with tea residue. But no problem, as you could clear out the little round holes with a pin, tho it’s a fiddly job and takes half an hour.
But with this, the most recent Oxo that I’ve bought, it turns out they’ve changed the design and the little round holes are a lot smaller. Which means that the the holes clog up at lot sooner, and they’re too small to clear out with a pin. I only got a few weeks out of this one.
Pity, it used to be a such a good tea infuser before the design changed.

I have a few tea infusers, this is my favourite. I love being able to scoop tea out the jar with it, and then infuse.
Washing it can be annoying as it traps leaves easily, but it’s ok.
With fine loose tea it will let it through the holes, so it;s no good for that, mak sure its larger leaf.
Whats good is that it has enough room for the leaves to swell and really infuse, some others I have don;t really work well like this.
This is the best of the three types I have, costly but I think I’ll get another now I’ve tested a few out.

I’m happy enough with this tea ball to buy another one. It’s super easy to use, is good quality stainless steel, and makes using loose leaf teas so much simpler, especially that it’s mounted on a stem rather than being on a chain. You never have to handle the ball part at all, and the twisting mechanism works smoothly. It took a couple of times to get the trick of which way to position (rotating cover up works best), but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy to use.

This is sooooo much easier to use than any other tea ball I’ve ever tried (and I’m not young). It’s sturdy and is easy to clean. After a year of using it several times a day I still LOVE IT. Never again wasteful one-use tea bags for me!

I’ve been using the tea strainer style of loose tea infusers, which can be a bit risky to clean, so I thought I’d try this one.
Sadly, it was disappointing. Tea leaves escaped quite easily between the two halves, and they don’t have enough room inside the closed ball to brew (or maybe there aren’t enough perforations in the body of the ball to allow the brewed tea to get out) – and I like my tea relatively weak.
I returned mine for a refund.

We have been looking for loose tea ball infuser. He loves his decaf sleepy time tea and the tea ball we purchased from the tea store was your basic stainless tea ball infuser. He complained that filling it was not as easy as it looks and that most of the loose tea would escape and end up in his cup. He doesn’t like loose leaves in his tea. I came across this product and suggested to my husband I buy it for him. This product is so easy to use! You can scoop your tea into the ball, no loose tea escapes and the length of the stem is perfect for any sized cup. He doesn’t complain about any loose tea in his cup and no spilled tea on the counter either. He loves it so much, we are buying another one for him to take to work. Highly recommend this product, you won’t be disappointed!

Very disappointing especially for the money. Allows tea through unless really course tea with flowers etc which in that case doesn’t allow flavour to percolate through.
Difficult to clean properly as well.
Cheaper product would do just as well and might even fair better!

So, it’s a good design overall but hard to clean inside. The holes are also slightly too large for some teas so finer particles escape into your cup. But it works well enough
After a little over a year of use it broke as the metal where the ball joins the stick is rather thin. As Oxo offer a life time warranty I contacted them directly. initially they were extremely helpful and assured me a replacement would be sent to be within 4 weeks. Well 6 weeks on and I’m still yet to receive a replacement and am starting to doubt I will ever receive it. I can only conclude the Oxo after sales support and warranty is pretty poor. Which is a shame as i like their products but will put me off buying their products in the future

A tad short for a standard glass and too long for a tea cup. If they offering a pair of these with different lengthes, I would buy them for sure. As other reviewers noted, the 2 spheres don’t close tight enough. For this price, they ought to design some lips there to close properly. Not hard to do, it doesn’t have to open all sides, just need to open enough to put teas in!
Other than this, good product.

I love how easy this infuser is to use and clean, and the fact that the straining is fine enough to prevent tea dust from getting into your cup. Durable too and no problem in the dishwasher.

It’s a a neat little product. Easy to use without fuss or complications. I can use my favourite high quality tea leafs on the go. There is no mess scooping tea. There is adequate space for larger leafs and chunks of other additives (dried fruit). Can adjust amount of tea based on preference. Everything stays in the pod. Dumping it out is easy and quick. Wet tea comes out as a small clump ball. A quick rinse and ready for the next cup. I’m happy there is no rubber or plastic materials coming to contact with tea. Absolutely recommend for those who don’t have time to use a pot and are on the go or for use at the office. Never going back to tea bags.

Glad I came across this one! Quality is great, easy to use and clean. Will stay more pristine than regular tea balls you pack and then forgot to clean out right away because you have to dig out the old/wet tea leaves. This one you just turn the handle to open and flick out the old tea, rinse and it’s clean! 🙂

This was a little bigger than I expected and because of its relative size, filled it would be too much for a single cup of tea.
It would be better suited for steeping a pot of tea, but that isn’t why I got this item.
Another thing to keep in mind would be that the holes/mesh of the ball are fairly large so if you brew very fine/small tea leaves/grains; some bits will escape into the cup which is far from ideal. I had this happen when I was brewing some barley tea
For the price, I feel that I was let down by this oxo product; so hoping to help others with my experience.
