As a light, it’s great. It gets the job done and has significantly increased the quality of my videos and photos. It makes working with a green screen so much easier and smoother.
That being said, the part where you attach your camera to it in the center is not great. There is little flexibility. It does not replace a real tripod for a camera or camcorder. Obviously a camcorder does not fit, but I have placed my Canon Powershot onto it. The angles aren’t great. Instead, if I don’t need dual cam, I rather put my camera on my Manfrotto tripod and place the light right behind the camera at an angle (to avoid shadow). Sure, it’s practical to have the ability to place your camera in the center of the Ring Light, but it’s way better to use a tripod to get the precise angles you need. It’s also much lighter than I thought it would be. My Manfrotto tripod is much studier (obviously since those are professional grade tripods). The Ring Light could risk getting knocked easily, so I have to be careful where and how I place it. Once placed, it’s fine.

Most of the LED ring lights on the market don’t specify the number of LEDs contained in the light itself. I thought to myself when reading about this Neewer ring light that 240 LEDs must produce a nice bright light rather than a yellowish glow. I wasn’t disappointed. I’m really pleased with the amount of fill light for use in my video calls. Really easy to set up and store away when not in use.

I’ve been wanting to make a YouTube channel for quite some time, but the lighting in my house has always been terrible on camera. I’ve been meaning to invest in one of these for quite some time and I’m glad I finally pulled the trigger. Not only does it make the quality of my videos massively better, I actually prefer putting on my makeup with this light on. I think it will improve my makeup skills and filming skills overtime. Definitely worth the investment

I use this quite literally in my kitchen for some online Youtube videos of me sharing with the world some family slightly alternative recipes. It is a simple set up, but improves the lighting considerably compared to how my videos were beforehand. At the end of the day, I am not part of an official cookery channel and just sharing a passion which has been part of my family for years, that of food! The stand adjusts to the right height to focus and get close up shooting. A decent lighting product.

I bought two of these ring lights and they lasted 2 months. I first noticed on the first ring light that when i tried to turn it on it would only work sometimes. I had to switch the light on and off 10 times before the light actually turned on. I thought this was 1 defective light but a week later the second ring light started to do the same thing. This product is amazing when it is working but it only lasted 2 months on me. I want to buy 2 more to replace these lights but I am afraid it will only do the same thing 2 months later

Excellent, well packaged, received in very good time. Easy to assemble and staight forward to use. Perfect for make-up tutorials for our naturally made products which we need to push the marketing for ourselves to get the product better known by our existing and new clients. Bought two of these, about 6 months apart.
They work well, easy to assemble and use, super bright however…
First light :
Came with a nice heavy duty thick stable stand. I got lucky as many people I know got stuck with an anorexic looking stand.
Few months of heavy use, the screws / connector that are meant to secure the light to the stand wears out and now it doesn’t tighten anymore.. not really a problem as u set the light up and leave it anyway but it’ll easily fall off the stand if someone knocks it.

Got the shitty anorexic stand

Provides soft light – I prefer the amber filter, I find it more flattering than the white for ‘talking head’ videos. I have a tight space as I live and create out of a 420 sq ft apartment and this doesn’t take up much space. The stand is very sturdy, it has a good weight and I don’t feel nervous that it is about to topple over if I brush against it as I set up my makeshift studio.
