Where I work we have coyotes, eagles (Bald) and retail hawks around pretty often, so wanted to be able to do a little viewing at times. This monocular was in the ball park price wise but was a little concerned about the low power (8×42 vs a 10×50). I’m going to be doing hand held primarily so thought I would get a stable image with the 8 power. Glad I did. It is stable (not too shaky) and the glass is clear. One of my priorities was to get glass covers for the front & back. The back glass (smallest) is not held on with a strap, so could be lost, but the front (larger) glass cover is tethered to the monocular. Eye peace works for me as I wear glasses but my friends at work don’t so they adjust the eye piece out as needed. Case is a little tight, but figure it will stretch out in time. Fairly compact, good monocular for the price. Would recommend to a friend. In fact, believe some of my friends at work are interested in picking one up for their work bags. Gave it 4 stars as the monocular covers are not both tethered and the bag is a little tight. a belt loop on the bag would be a good improvement for hiking.

I am amazed! Great monocular at any price. Having just returned 2 monoculars costing MANY times more, I am impressed. Lens caps on both ends – and secured. Viewing strap. Easy focus. Great clarity. At this price, I was leery but the reviews gave me hope. One small missing feature – no close focusing, like 6. In short, what a great bargain. Just BUY it!

Hard to believe this sells for just 30 bucks?! High quality and even has strap to which you can connect the two lens covers. (I was always losing my binocular covers which were not attached.) Not much else to say other than you will not regret this purchase! I use my monocular mainly to observe jet traffic at 30-40K feet out here in the boondocks. I look up at those jets and thank God I am not on one of them!!:) –Tuco
