I ordered the 6 x 9 pad for a new shag rug I purchased for my living room. At first glance, it looks like a really good rug pad. It’s heavy and thick. This weekend, I decided to unbox it and lay it out. But I immediately started noticing issues. First, it was MUCH bigger than the advertised 72 by 108 inches. It actually measures 81 by 119 inches. This may be a pro for some, but the thought of having to cut a straight line along this giant rug pad is extremely irritating. I ended up just pushing the extra pad area under furniture for the time being. Second, it slips and slides all over my luxury vinyl plank flooring despite the weight. I can’t believe this is advertised as non-slip. Last but not least, I developed an itchy rash and nearly fainted from the fumes after handling the rug pad! I was on all fours on top of the bare rug pad trying to get it to lay flat and straight. There was some pretty strong off gassing so I started getting very lightheaded. I stood up slowly, and nearly fainted. I had to take a break and sit down for a while. Then, I moved my air purifier closer to the rug pad, ran some fans, and opened some more windows. Still, the air purifier sensed the fumes and the air quality sensor turned from blue to red which proves the fumes were strong. While I was resting, I started getting a rash (similar to a rash one might get when exposed to dust mites) on my forearms and my feet, the two areas that touched the rug pad the most while I was on top of the pad. I’ve uploaded photos of the rash on my foot and forearm; foot photo is right after rinsing off the rash in cool water and the forearm photo was taken 30 min after I noticed the rash. It has been a couple of hours now, and I’m still itchy and dizzy. I definitely do NOT recommend this rug pad! I will be submitting a complaint and getting rid of this thing before it makes anyone else sick!

Purchased the 6’1”x9’ to give better cushion to a low profile area rug and is exactly what we hoped it would be/do. It might be slightly larger than what the description says but that’s better than being smaller (and it was easy to cut off excess). One side has the non-slip rubber and the other is just felt. Had no odor and was packaged well. It comes folded (not rolled) but easily lays flat on hardwood. Arrived quickly and did not disappoint.

This pad is thick, soft, the perfect size for the 8×11 rug I bought and doesn’t slip or slide around. The ONLY NEGATIVE is that it off gasses a bit but it goes away in a few days. Would definitely purchase again.

this is a great underlay / upper side feels rough to the touch, but perfectly grabs the undeside of my rug, and rug stays put with a nice layer of padding. Was well packaged.

Arrived in a bag, in a box. Yes, folded, but that wasn’t an issue. I just unfolded it and it laid fairly flat. No strange odor. It seemed clean and well cut. I ordered smaller than I needed based on other reviews saying it was too large. It was actually exactly the dimensions they have listed. It’s worked perfectly for a while now in my home on hardwood with a relatively thin wool rug on top. No slipping. No sticky residue on the wood floor. Really excellent.

I purchased 2 pads. Neither was an exact rectangle and both were much smaller then they were listed to be. The Neither package had the dimensions listed on the products. So I had no idea which was which until I opened the items. The smaller pad was barely usable for the smaller area rug I purchased it for but because I needed in order to put heavy furniture on (movers only available at that time). So I kept the smaller pad. I returned the larger of the 2 pads and listed that as the one I was returning. Now the seller is reversing the charges and saying I returned the smaller of the two!! So not only are the products not correct when they arrive, but the seller decides which one can be credited? Unbelievable. Now I have to call Amazon and try to straighten this out! What a waste of time and money.

This felt pad with non skid backing works great under a thin rug. I usually buy the foamy mesh non-skid cheap rug pad especially for small throw rugs, but not anymore. This adds just enough padding and makes a thin rug feel a little thicker.
It doesn’t move under the rug and there is no weird odor at all attached to it.

The rug pad slipped on our tile floor without a rubber backing Otherwise it provides softness and protection for our wool rug. Placing furniture on the rug prevented sliding.

I bought a 6’9 rug that was $200, it’s alright for the money, but yes– you can tell the cost of the rug when you walked on it. There’s nothing like a quality rug where your feet sink into it a bit, almost as if there’s memory foam underneath it. That’s when I decided to look into rug pads. This Mohawk rug pad did the trick! The rug feels so much nicer now, it’s so nice to have a rug pad, that I will never buy a rug without a mohawk rug pad again. I read some bad reviews on this product.. I don’t get it. My rug does not slip and slide on top of the rug pad, and I use it on a hardwood floor. I also did not smell any chemicals. I appreciate the product, and would recommend it to my friends.

Without knowing how long (or not) the nonslip side holds together I can’t give it more than the 4 stars awarded. I hope it stays correct (without turning brittle) for a long time. The non slip material reminds me of what may be the same as other area rugs. It comes down to what the non slip material is they use, and that is not clearly specified. Only time will tell.
Otherwise it arrived without any delay. As expected it is shipped in folded package needing some time to lay flat. I gave it a week in the basement to get the folds out, and it does the job needed well now.
