This looks just like the picture, and putting it together isn’t bad at all. I did have one person helping me, but I probably could’ve done it myself, and all we had to use was a screwdriver. That said, the actual function of the drawers on this are TERRIBLE. I don’t know if it’s just mine, but I’m probably going to have to replace all the runners on the drawers because not a single one opens more than about an inch without a wrestling match. We’ve tried switching them, taking them apart to make sure we put them together correctly (how hard it is it, really??) but they just don’t slide in and out easily. If I could easily have returned this, I would have just because of that. We only have 3 drawers in our kitchen, but I wish I would’ve just put the money toward getting some more actual drawers instead of this. Super disappointed, even though it looks nice.

This product was fairly easy to assemble. I think its possible to do it yourself but two of us worked together and got it done. We had no major issues with putting it together.
The product LOOKS great. Beautiful piece of furniture all around. Lots of storage space and a little extra prep space

This cart is cheap BUT it fits our needs perfectly. We needed additional storage in our kitchen and didn’t want to spend a lot of money. The cart is very functional and looks good from a distance but again it’s cheap. The drawers and door operate nicely but they feel cheap. We didn’t expect top quality at this price. As a kitchen island with heavy use I think this thing might fall apart or get dinged up pretty easily. We opted to leave the wheels, towel bar and outside shelf off and use it as a piece of furniture. It looks pretty good but if you get up close you can see a quarter inch gap between the two doors. Not a deal breaker but if you are into details it will annoy you. Ours came with one of the doors already dented but I just used a sharpie and now we never notice the issue.
Be warned that the box this thing comes in weighs at least 120 lbs. I found it much easier to open the box and carry all the pieces inside for assembly. Assembly probably took me an hour to an hour and a half. It’s not hard just time consuming because there are a lot of parts. After it is fully assembled its actually quite sturdy. I would have no problem standing on it.

Great cart for dollar amount. I was a bit sacred when the package came damaged but the packaging on the cart kept it safe. WE put it together easily and it has lots of space. Moves easily across the hardwood floor.

I did my research. I read all of the reviews, so there were no surprises when it arrived. I’ve assembled a lot of furniture pieces and I will say that the assembly was a lot easier than imagined. The instructions were straightforward and easy to follow. The most difficult part (and it wasn’t “difficult” at all) was getting all the pieces out of the box. With two trash bags near (one for recycleable pieces, and one for trash) it went smoothly. By using a damp, microfiber cloth to lightly wipe down each piece , I was able to keep the stray static-filled styrofoam at bay by just wiping it into the bag.
There was no “out-gassing” as others have noted; maybe I was lucky.
It took about 2-hours for two people, slowly and methodically, to assemble. There was no bloodshed, no tears, and surprisingly, very little swearing. I didn’t give it 5-stars because of the half-dozen dings, cracks, and blemishes. I have requested replacement parts from the manufacturer, so we will see. Some were pieces that won’t be seen unless pointed out, and some can be addressed with touch-up paint. The biggest problem was a drawer front that was just poorly created and passed for “OK” (not square).
While I initially purchased to use as a coffee bar, I love its versatility and can’t decide if I want to dedicate it to one area!
All in all, this piece is strong and sturdy; I’m very happy with the quality of the unit. I did my homework and found the best deal, for this unit, on Amazon.

This was a really good purchase and something I needed for kitchen storage. The top is solid and it looks good, I just wish the leaf holders were more sturdy. They don’t sit flush with the leaf which doesn’t make me feel safe for chopping food on it, but I wasn’t intending to use the leaf daily anyways so over all I’m happy. Just be aware it will take a while to install, there are a lot of parts to this. The instructions are good, and it’s well labelled just time consuming.

i give it a 5 star even if i had to get 2 men to bring it up cause they left it at the bottom of my stairs they didnt take the time to bring it up stairs cause i do live up stairs. took 2 hours put it together looks cheap but when all together looks real nice nothing missing or broke i love it , thank you Amazon

I haven’t put it together yet I was so excited to receive it, just came a day earlier than projected! Super happy, open my account and look and the price dropped to $414 from the $529 I paid-This is absolute crap! The product I’m sure is great but seriously beyond disappointed.

I must say, usually these knock down type pieces are furniture are a pain to put together but this kitchen island was the easiest ever! The unit was carefully packed, not one scratch on it. every piece was labeled correctly. Every hole lined up properly and after assembly it is so very sturdy! I’m not sure what units some of these reviews are talking about though. It was childs play! Only reason why I gave it a 4.5 rating is that it was all in one box and this old lady had a hell of a time getting it from point a to point b. Thank you HomeSense and thank you Amazon! Well worth the money! Perfect for our Cabin!

The Good.
Exceptionally well constructed for this class of furniture.
Lots of space.
Very attractive. The pictures don’t do it justice.
The packaging is amazing. Each part is individually wrapped with foam, and plenty of packing material to keep it from moving around during shipping. The box is heavy (126 pounds), so get someone to help you lift it.
The Not-so-good
Assembly is not for beginners. It’s not worth the $140 that Amazon wants to put it together for you, though. Find a friend who has some experience with cabinetry. The instructions are OK, but they could be better.
It has an unpleasant odor. This is likely because they didn’t let the paint fully cure before packaging it. After you put it together, let it stand with the doors and drawers open for a day or two.
Some things will need adjustment. The holes in the mounting plates for the casters didn’t align. I had to bore the holes out on the casters to make them fit. The divider in the middle was a bit skewed. It required some wrestling to get the dowels to line up on the top and bottom. That little bit of skew meant that the doors don’t quite line up. Also, the screw holes for the magnets that hold the doors closed were too far back. I had to drill new holes.
Tips:
Do not put the top on until you put the doors on. The doors have to slide down the hinges and you won’t be able to do that with the top installed.
Don’t try to put the drawer frames together and then slide the bottoms in. Things won’t line up and everything will be loose. Assemble each drawer with the bottom in the slots in each side.
The front of the drawer looks like it could go on either way. I can’t. One side of the raised part has a bevel. That needs to go up.
You’re going to have a bunch of leftover hardware. Don’t let that throw you.

So Home Styles did send me the missing pieces that were not included in the original packaging, and it took about a week and a half (which includes time to contact and send the pieces). I got that last bit installed and was sort of disappointed. All of the drawers are off, like I put them together exactly as the instructions showed but they hang slightly lower than they should. The only other part that I’m dissatisfied with is that it actually smells… and it smells really bad. I’ve cleaned the wood as directed, but no matter what it has this very horrible factory scent. Hoping that goes away, but wanted anyone with a sensitive nose to know.
Overall, it’s a pretty good kitchen island, but it could have been better (like if everything was shipped int he same package and if the drawers hung correctly)

As far as construction, this was a pain in the *** to build. Besides having instructions with terrible pictures and the steps (in my opinion) out of order, it’s also a million little pieces with things that can go wrong. For instance, I had trouble getting the entire frame to come together when I put the top on (which is the last part of the frame you put on). It barely fit and then I had to screw in the final pieces. Oh, and then after doing that, the instructions said attach the door. Too bad you can’t put the door on if the frame is fully assembled… so I had to pull the top off again, put the doors on, and then reinsert the top. In other words, read all the instructions in a “step” and then decide what sounds smartest to you first… Its not as intuitive as you would hope they company would make it.
As far as build, this is a solid product (minus my missing drawer bottoms). Its really stable, the wood top looks great, and the whole thing is really nice looking. It compliments all my black, much easier to build and came with all the parts Ikea furniture. But even outside of that, I just like how this thing came together and works overall. I’m actually writing this review standing with my laptop on it right now, and it’s at the perfect height to do so. So build it good (IE, once you get it together, its pretty awesome). The only thing I don’t like is the wheels aren’t as swivelly as I had hoped, meaning they will scratch a wood floor if you hear them dragging. Just a warning (and yes, they were unlocked when I moved it).

I can’t say enough good things, I love it, it’s gorgeous (exactly as pictured), I feel like I just double the size of my kitchen. Best if you have two people to assemble it.
