Didnt use it, but looks really great so far, I just want to brag about the fact that I mix/grind my spice, but in fact I buy pre mixed package!

It’s really easy to use not hard for the hand, fingers or wrist. Easy to clean with water Lifetime warranty 😉 it will last a lifetime 🤣 it’s pretty well done. Not to heavy the perfect size & no need to kill your seeds or your wrist it does the job so smoothly. I had a wood one & it was killing me!! This is just PERFECT thank you Amazon

The product arrived well packed. As to durability I have only used for a little over a month so I have not rated durability. I can state that the granite is polished beautifully on the outside. The granite does not display any flaw or defects so I anticipate no issues.

I’ve used this a handful of times since purchasing – it did not do well with a bunch of herbs in one go but was great when used with cloves, pepper and other small whole spices. The process of grinding was reminded me of watching my grandma in Goa, India grinding masala for vindalo and sorpatel, the same look, feel and sound. Would recommend if you have small batches of spices and prefer not to disturb the whole family with an electric spice grinder.

This Mortar and Pestle is extremely sturdy and effective at performing its function. It was larger than I anticipated but that was a pleasant surprise given its budget price. Another surprise was just how beautiful it is. The smooth, polished exterior nicely complements the rougher working surface on both the mortar and pestle. Highly recommended,

Ground some salt to show the discolouration. Dont know if it’s granite or something else thats coming off.
The packaging looked like it was opened or used before I received it. Nothing wrong with the actual product, looked quality. I immediately saw a green colour on the grinding surface. Cleaned it a couple of times and its still there.
I ground some salt to show how the pure white turns coloured when its ground.

My concern was being able to grind spices for cooking into powder without having to use much pressure due to
osteo arthritis of the finger and thumb joints – I remembered someone felling me about a mortar and pestle set that was gifted to her, and that the set was so heavy in itself, that her spices almost ground themselves. I checked out the mortar and pestle sets on Amazon.ca and voila! I found a set made of pure granite, placed an order with Prime and it was delivered the very next day – it looked beautiful, but I was concerned it was all second hand as was one of the options on the site – I called up an agent on Amazon who said it could be sent back and I could returned with the Amazon.ca label – so I ordered a new one, and still the packaging looked used – I understood comparing the two parcels and sets that the sets were hand carved probably in Italy, beautifully done and measured, each a little unique, and that the packaging was hand taped, not second hand. I will keep my second set and send back the first, with new appreciation, And yes, the part of the set you do the grinding with barely needs any effort, you simply hold on and rotate around the spices, sometimes adding a ‘dropping’ action onto harder spices such as whole peppercorns, then use the rotating motion – fragrant powdered spices in seconds. Please pay attention to the instruction paper – no soap ever, just warm water rinse. It’s an all natural stone, worth taking good care of, and it will last your lifetime – made by the Logastina company so you really get high quality.
