If you like wood and are looking for a mortar and pestle, this is gorgeous. The colors of the woods are beautiful, a little bit of food grade oil really brings them out. I bought as a gift, but I think I’ll buy one for me too. Really nice!
MR BM Taylor –
great quality with a tight fitting lid, looks great and keeps the salt dry
C. Kaufman –
Raw wood with no real finish. Screw hole not covered. Works but could be a bit classier.
Jo Hardy –
Stunning item. Makes a fantastic salt cellar. I even knocked it on the floor and nothing spilled because it didn’t open. It’s so be8

When I ordered this I wasn’t expecting how nice it would be when it arrived. It is a beautiful wood piece and a perfect salt cellar for convenience. It is easily opened with 1 hand and the sliding mechanism works great. On top of that, it is a beautiful piece to display in my kitchen.

Love this salt cellar. works great and looks great. I rubbed some olive oil all over the wood (minus the inside) when I first got it as I live in a dry climate and wanted it to be protected (I will do this every other month prob) and keep its dark rich colour. Very happy with this and would recommend it with some specialty salt as a housewarming or anniversary gift.

Fit and finish could be better, but wood will warp over time and shipping between climactic zones.
I used the warm oven to heat mine before giving it a few treatments of food grade mineral oil, much like you would a butcher block or cutting board.

Disappointed in this salt pig for the excessive cost that it was in comparison to other wooden boxes. The screw that they’ve used for the lid to pivot looks very cheap & brassy. Most disappointing though is the smell of the wood. It’s Aweful! I’ve had it empty on the counter for 2 weeks now in the Hope’s it only needed to air out. Smells as bad as the 1st day it arrived. Nervous to put salt in it in the event the smell absorbs into the salt & affects the flavour. Regretting this purchase entirely

These are tops if you’re doing any sort of serious cooking. Having pre-ground pepper in one and a bunch of sea salt in another means you always have your seasonings available and fresh on the counter. Highly recommend.

We were looking for something convenient, yet nice for storing sea salt for cooking. This is perfect for the job and has a nice rustic look.

I’ve thought about getting a salt box for a long time, and when this one came up at a nice discount @Warehouse Deals I ordered it. I really like it. So much nicer than trying to measure salt from a cardboard box with a pouring spout. Now, I can spoon it up and level it without needing another bowl to catch the spills. Excellent purchase. 🙂
Compradora –
