We love using our Instant Pot to slow cook, so much so that we gave away our old slow cooker. The only drawback to slow cooking is that the pressure cooker lid is kind of big and awkward to use, especially if you want to open it to see what is going on with your food.
This lid is a great solution to that. It is actually made by Instant Pot so it fits perfectly. It also feels really well made and is much lighter than the pressure cooker lid making it easier to open when you need to stir. And if you don’t need to open, it is glass so you can keep an eye on the progress of your food without losing heat from inside the pot. If you want to slow cook with your Instant Pot, get this lid.

I am really glad I bought this extra lid. You don’t need to use the big lid provided with the main pot all the time when using it as a slow cooker., you just have to keep an eye on the level of the liquid in the bottom. I have found it a good idea to use the main lid for the first half of the cooking time and then pop this one on for the second. half. That way you can concentrate the flavours.

Somehow I do feel just a tiny bit smug I have this lid. It fits like a glove (or indeed like a lid should) and looks great. Once my IP has finished cooking, if I want the meal to cool on the worktop I pop my lid on and am safe knowing I won’t have kitty paw prints in it, or even a casually resting tail (from said kitty) dipping in it.
I think it’s well made, and looks really smart too. It washes well too, I don’t have a dishwasher so it gets plonked in the bowl with the rest of the washing up. I don’t get those horrid left over drips you often get with a wire rimmed lid. Sometimes I rinse with cold water if not drying up immediately.
So there we go, it functions well and looks good. What’s not to like?

Great addition to the Instant Pot. Also works with some other pressure cookers and some pots. Handy once things are finished cooking, you can put this lid on it which is less awkward than the big steel pressure cooking lid. Also useful for slow-cooking or fermenting where you need some ventilation and no pressure.

It’s a lid, well made, but a lid. Not very exciting, but it works. It is definitely worth purchasing for the Instant Pot because there are times when you won’t want to use the opaque pressure cooker lid. So in all seriousness, I do highly recommend purchasing it.

The handle rivet looked defective when I received it, but I thought it would last. Used it three times through 2020 and the handle popped off recently. I had no need to use it frequently. I was not hard on it and at no point did I abuse the handle. Very sad that I did not return it when I received the Instant Pot glass lid. Glass is fine, as is the handle. However, the handle rivet was not on completely, as I found out after the three uses. Gave a three star rating for this reason.

If you slow cook with the regular lid there is unlikely to be as much evaporation as the recipe intended – sure you can adjust the liquid, but I for one can’t be bothered. Also the little water bottle at the back kept filling up and I never noticed so it went nasty a few times.
I gave away my old slow cooker after buying the instantpot, but regretted that until I got this lid – now happy again.

The instant pot should come with this lid, but of course, it doesn’t. As much as I absolutely LOVE my instant pot I have almost spent half what I paid for it for the accessories. Yes, you don’t necessarily need them but you want them and so you find all these excuses why you should have them – and you get them – and they’re all brilliant and that’s where I leave this review. The lids fits perfectly and I have used it a lot in the last couple of weeks: Keeping food farm, in slow cook mode, as well as on low saute and even storing in the fridge. It is expensive but you are going to use it and it is a pretty decent lid so yes, I do recommend.

This lid fits perfectly on my IP Duo 8 quart. You can tell it is well-made as it has very thick glass and the handle is very secure. I love being able to leave the remainder of a meal in the pot knowing my cats won’t get at it while we eat supper and it’s also great for those times when you need to leave food on the ‘keep warm’ setting at a potluck or for people coming home late for supper. I highly recommend this to IP owners!

Found the lid to be really useful when using Saute … I think it is a very expensive add on to the Instant Pot product but it is useful to have if you saute a lot of things. Something like this should come with the Instant pot when you purchase it not be an added (expensive) extra. Having said that I would still recommend it as it looks attractive with the ‘Instant Pot’ wording on the lid and obviously does the job expected well.

As advertised. The quality is excellent and heavy-duty. Fits perfectly and very handy to have. When a soup or whatever is finished cooking, you can serve out portions, then put this glass lid on the pot during dinner, and before the leftovers are transferred to a container for the fridge. I will also be using this lid for the slow cooker function, but I haven’t gotten to doing that yet. I don’t anticipate any issues with using the lid that way either.

I started utilizing the Slow Cook option on my Instant Pot, and after some reading online, seemed like many were saying to get the Instant Pot glass lid. The pressure cooker lid will of course work with slow cook mode, but as it seals the pot quite well, you don’t get the little bit release of heat that slow cooking requires. Anyway, I got this lid and I feel like I have upped my slow cooking game! It’s official Instant Pot product so it fits perfectly. I can check my food easily now without having to take off the clunky pressure cooking lid. And it has the little steam release hole. Would definitely recommend if you want to slow cook with your Instant Pot!

This works perfectly with the 8 qt Instant Pot. I use this when I am not using the pressure functions so that I can see how the food is cooking. The lid is not heavy and easy to clean. One thing I would’ve liked is to be able to put the lid away inside the pot when it’s not in use. I don’t like having the lid separate from the pot.
