I had this installed in my Ram truck. It was mounted on the windshield. It worked very well for approx. 18 months then one day I found it had lost its stick. I did try and re-secure it but finally advised the seller I was having problems. They refunded me immediately even after having it for all this time. As I have found nothing to replace I ordered the same item and giving it 4 stars because of service received

I bought this mount for my Garman GPS in March it is now the beginning of May I have had it less than two months in use and the suction cup is totally failed it will not produce any suction at all. Once it got hot the adhesive used on it also melted away and it’s Already out of its return window. The construction of the moment Self is great but it will not stick to the windshield failed on that so basically it’s a very crappy product and I would not recommend it to anyone. If they read this review and they want to send me a new one that works I will upgrade my review but as of right now I would give it less than one star if possible.

I like it so far, much better than the one that came with the Garmin GPS. The problem I had with the Garmin one is that when I adjust to lower the angle it comes right off. This one solved that problem for me. I also have more options with it like pulling closer. I highly recommend it

Well, I just finished a 3,600km trip from Toronto to PEI and there was not a wobble from this thing. Never budged. Now I tend not to give “premature” reviews (long term is what matters right?) but I have to say I’m very impressed with it so far. Having said that its been my experience that they fail (fall off the windshield) in either extreme heat (heat wave) or when its really cold and we haven’t had any exceedingly hot weather over the trip so we shall see come winter.

Two of these mounts have been in use for several months with a large (7 inch, Garmin 760).
There was no place on the rearward facing dash to mount the gps with Garmin’s mount.
They have functioned well, holding the gps securely.
The underside of the ‘suction cup’ comes coated with a sticky, glue-like substance which may become an issue if this dries out, hardens and leaks air.
At that point this ‘glue’ would be removed.

Suction appears good so far, but lets see how it does in Canadian winter. I leave it on so I only need to attach the GPS when needed. Its a good product as long as it works.

I used this to hold my Garmin Dezl GPS with a 7 inch screen. It was attached using the suction cup to my windshield. It is important that the window surface is clean, otherwise it will not hold strong suction. A big rig isn’t as smooth a ride as a car is and I did have problems with the unit remaining affixed to the windshield if I had the telescoping part fully extended which was kind of a bummer. In the end, the heat finally did it in. The rubber suction cup actually started to melt, and where it attaches to the plastic, it came off so I had a donut shaped piece of the suction cup on my windshield. BTW, I purchased this mount in January 2019 and it failed in July 2019. Part of me wants to say, “Couldn’t they foresee that the mount would be subject to extreme temperatures if affixed to a windshield and make a better product” while the other part of me understands that extreme heat puts undue stress on anything. So for $10 it’s not a bad purchase though I will do some serious research to see if I can find a better product that will hold up longer.

I’ve had a lot of mounts but this one significantly stands out. The first day i made mistake to mount it on the leather on the dashboard and it had such strong suction that it left a mark. After that I placed it on the window and it’s there approximately 8 months now and still in the same spot when I mount it the first time. Neither it ever fell off nor it slipped.

GPS Dash Mount, APPS2Car Dashboard Windshield Sticky Suction Mount was/is for my Garmin Drive Smart 55 GPS that just replaced an older Tomtom unit. I needed a mount for a lower position on my windshield or dash, not wanting to be shot for having something like an air freshener obscuring my vision. I liked the ability to mount it low and closer to the dash and the pivot and extension gives just the right angle for using it. Be warned, this is no one handed removable item. When they advertise “Sticky” suction mount, they do not meant the suction itself, but the mount BEFORE suction. The downside to most suction mounts is temperature change, especially when it gets really cold. This baby will pull the ball mount off the back of your Drive Smart before it budges from the window with the suction removed. My old mount I would just remove the whole thing and store it out of sight when parking. With this one, I remove the GPS from the mount, holding the mount with one hand and the gps socket with the other as I pull on the gps. I then loosen the pivot, retract the ball mount and swivel it down so my windshield shades can be used. On my last trip home I thought I’d remove the whole thing and store it with my gps, HA. There is a vacuum release on the suction unit and even a tab on the soft sticky part. Nothing is “released” you have to force an escape for the device stuck to your windshield, using both hands and most of the vocabulary learned in 4 years with the navy, you pull and swear and finally if the planets and moon are properly aligned it will be freed. I kid you not, never, never in jest place that sticky mount on any part of any ones body. Doing so you would anticipate following up with a 911 call. Just keep the bag it came in and put it back. Love the mount, am wary of the sticky pad, but am leaving it as is, in case I have to drive to Alaska in the winter, I know it won’t fall off.

The suction cup is a super flexible rubber, that mounts onto the rough curved surface of on my dashboard without the need for gluing the included mounting disk. I really didn’t want to permanently install the circular mounting that came with the mount, so it was great that is wasn’t required! The mount has a wide range of angular adjustment, and telescoping. It was easy to adjust and stays put. The ball also stays firmly in place Garmin Nuvi 750 and Nuvi 755.
