I’m not sure why there are many reviews saying it won’t transfer data, it’s not a Garmin cable, it doesn’t work … none of this is true of the cable I received. It transfers data, charges the GPS, and in every way I can tell, works just like the original Garmin cable. Tested on a GPSMAP 64SC.
There are also a few reviews from people who mistakenly thought their inability to buy the correct cable meant that there was something wrong with the cable itself … and therefore rated their competency in buying the correct product instead … so look at the pictures … if it’s not the same as what your device uses, then don’t buy it. But for the rest of us, yes, it works just fine.

Arrived perfect and in great time. It is used for my Garmin GPS in car. Unfortunately, the cord is too short
and GPS sits in my cup holder not on the dashboard which would make it easier to look at. Other than the shortness of cord it works fine.

Don’t pay ANY attention to the reviews! I think Amazon takes reviews and applies them to any product they want. This cable will NOT download data. It will hook up to the power input only! I already had several of these. I needed the data transfer cable and the reviews said this would do it. Wrong! If you want to charge your device off of your computer this will do it. If you want to update your maps forget it.

This is the standard (old style) connector , not a USB mini connector that is used by current:/modern device. It also is not made by Garmin. Totally misleading product description and a waste of money.

Download site will not recognize my device. I think I know why but it’s a guess – the small end is the wrong shape to fit into the correct port on this device. There are two of them – one on the “mounting” device which snaps onto the back of the device and accepts the cable from the cigarette lighter of the car when in use. (This cable fits this port.) The other port is located on the outer edge of the device but looks a tiny bit smaller and is sort of an elongated octagon or oval shape. This I think is the data connection port. The small end of the cable looks sort of like a trapezoid. Whatever, they don’t match. My device is an NUVi2797LMT. Check your device before you order!

This was a Garmin Product as described. I ordered it for my Garmin Nuvi 255w so I could connect
the Nuvi 255w to the computer USB Port to do Map Updates .It work perfect no problems at all updating
the Garmin Nuvi 255W.
