I paid extra because I saw “digital and programmable” (and because the unit was much more expensive than other models). I fully admit that I should have read more carefully, but, seriously, why did they bother making a digital thermostat and not make it a normal programmable thermostat like any other programmable thermostat (i.e. with a clock and day and night settings)? Insane and not worth the cost. Also it makes annoyingly loud beeps.

I came to this thing from $80 fan based heater and I really wish I did not go for the cheaper option. This unit is great. You can set up both timers to shut it off or when to start it, which is great if you want to save on electric bill.
Temperature control is not perfect, but way better than I expected. I usually need to try + or – 40 Fahrenheit before I settle on temp setting. In here it just worked for me in the first go. Please notice, that this thing is powerful, but not for a fast heating. If you want to heat things up you will need 30-120 minutes depending on the size of the room and temperature.
Also, have some non-obvious feature. If you hold plus and minus it will enable the block, so if you have a little kid running around, he will not turn it on accidentally.
It has a little sound when it starts, as any other heater that based on oil. Same with a bit of smell at the beginning. It is oil and freshly painted metal, make sure to run it with windows opened the first couple of hours.
The only con I see is not really the con, but desired feature to set up the schedule. So you can set up the work week and weekends and heater will go on and off with a schedule. You can do it with timers, but it would be better to be able set it up once and not to touch it again.

I live in a old 2 story Canadian home in snow country that has always had heating issues.
FIRST THINGS FIRST – don’t expect wonders if you have poor insulation or expect performance like a forced air blower heater, or place it in a large room, then this product is NOT for you.
If you have decent insulation, and your room is around 250 sq feet, this heater will beat out any other heater you can buy in terms of performance, heating ability, and reasonable price.
PROS:
COMFORT – This product has multiple ways it delivers its heat, represented by the 3 red bars on the LCD screen on the front. Think of it like how aggressively you want to rise to that set temp.
1 bar is a slow heat up similar to radiant heating. Uses the least energy as well. For people sensitive to fast temp changes, you can really dial in the main temp to one you will like all the time rather than messing with the temp over and over.
2 Bars is more like a normal oil filled radiator. It gets hot sooner but not too aggressively. I liken it similar to sun warming up a room through a window. Uses second most energy.
3 Bars is actively fighting the cold It’s full power and heats a 250 sq ft room in sub zero temps with no problem.
EFFICIENCY – The big thing about this radiator is it’s design and how it uses energy wisely. This radiator holds more oil than your regular heater, which means it has more fluid to heat and stay warm longer, even when the heating element is shut off. This means the 1500 watt element only kicks in to keep the oil warm while it releases it heat. Think of it like kicking a fly wheel to keep it spinning. Bigger the wheel, the longer it spins on it’s own.
The baffles on the side of the tank is the real secret sauce. It does 2 things. 1) it focuses the heat, 2) it insulates the tank so it holds heat longer on its own. There is an icon that shows you when the heating element is on and off.
When used properly in a 250 sq ft room, you will barely see that element kick in for more than 5 to 10 minutes in an hour after the tank is warmed up.
I have seen my electric bill cut in half over the winter vs the old ceramic and baseboard heaters.
There is an “ECO” mode which cuts power completely when tank temp is reached vs the normally mode that has the element on all the time but constantly adjusted from low watts to high watts on the fly to maintain temp. There is a distinct different is power consumption and comfort. While you use much less energy, it feels more like turning on and off a heater in a room vs the constant comfort of not being in eco mode. Honestly, it’s really not that big of a different but worth noting.
QUALITY – This thing is built rock solid. The only weak point is the weak point I see is the plastic wheels The rest is metal and built for quality.
CONCLUSION – While this heater is more on the higher price tag, I have found through many brutal Canadian winters and many different kinds of cheap heaters, that spending money to keep yourself from freezing is an investment worth taking seriously. The quality of life for my family has greatly improved. we used to buy cheap WalMart heaters, but when you add up all the heaters and how much energy they use to do a poor job, then the price tag of this heater is really a great deal I have one in each bedroom of my home and now everyone is comfortable all winter long without killing my energy bill.
BOTTOMLINE – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

I have two oil heaters from this company, the other one is the very basic control mode. It is better than this one.
This one makes a very very loud clicking sound when its heating up. The other one is much quiter.
The digital controls are nice to dial in a temperature, but the timer isnt that great. Its either a delayed start or a delayed stop, not something you can program a schedule on

as -40. For years, we have relied upon Delongie oil radiators to heat parts of our home. They have worked well – no complaints.
We bought this heater this year. Not used much in spring, summer but now it is fall. It looks better than the older models, to be sure, BUT IT DOES NOT HEAT A ROOM NEARLY AS WELL as the older units. In fact, Even with a higher setting, the heat is insufficient for heating a bedroom. We are very disappointed with this product. At $169 we should get a heater that works better than our old “wire” Delongie heater. Instead we are wondering what if any purpose this unit can be used for. Very disappointed in this product.
