This pan is worth the money.. heavy duty, easy to handle/clean.
I got it on a recommendation from my sister.
I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality pan.

    Added 2 updates below.
Got home from work and was excited to see my package on the porch. Excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I opened the box. My pan is full off scratches, see pic. I probably would have lived with the few small surface scratches but these are extensive and the deep scratch in the bottom is horrible and the non-stick coating will quikly start peeling. The shipping box was fine but the product package had a smashed corner with some broken styrofoam inside but this did not cause any damage to the pan. There was nothing loose inside the package to scratch the pan so it was packaged in this condition, sad.
I thought DeLonghi was more reputable and I was getting a higher quality product including some quality control.

Update on 8/13/17, last four pics
Returned the first skillet for exchange, kudos to Amazon for making it quick and easy.
When the second Skillet came the cardboard was torn and the styrofoam insert was broken in half. It had obviously been opened and most likely a returned item for the same reason I returned mine. Upon inspecting the pan it appeared dirty and scratched as bad as the first one. At this point I was fairly angry for receiving not only one but two shoddy products in a row and was about to return it for a refund and go with another brand. Since there were no deep scratches down to the metal I decided to clean it instead of throwing in the towel. The skillet cleaned up relatively well except for a few scratches, most of the light ones are barely visible but two scratches are shown in the last picture.
I want to like this skillet and although it was scratched all to hell and excessively dirty right out of the box it seems to be built fairly well and because of all the 5-star reviews I may try to cook with it before returning. Hopefully this thing can cook better than it gives a first (and 2nd) impression. If it cooks as well as the reviewer say I might just keep it.
I will update again after using.

    9/26/17 update
Razed my rating to 4 stars from 2
The aluminum pan thickness distributes heat evenly thus cooks without hot spots. The DeLonghi skillet is in fact the thickest I’ve seen and thicker than another name brand a friend uses at work and cost $10 more. The heat control work good and seems to be very accurate.
I will in fact buy another one to put in my camper.
Honesty I would give 10 stars if DeLonghi took more care to protect it from damage.
PS. I work in manufacturing and I suspect that these pans are being stacked inside each other during the manufacturing process, if you get one off the top it will be good, one’s from the bottom will be increasingly damaged.
NOTE to DeLonghi: I hope you don’t go down the cheaper for higher profit margin path. I gladly pay more for “real” quality.

My parents have a Hamilton Beach electric skillet that we used when we were camping this past summer. I was impressed with how easy it was to use and clean. I came home and searched Amazon for a quality skillet…and landed on this gem. As always, I checked out the reviews and knew that there are always reviews from people who got a “lemon”. However, there were far more positive reviews so I decided to order it. Best decision ever! It DOES cook evenly. The temperature control DOES work properly. The non-stick coating DOES stay on. There are NO nicks, NO dings, NO scratches on the surface. It IS super easy to wash either by hand or in the dishwasher. In my opinion (for whatever it’s worth) this skillet is well worth the price!

Has many hot spots and uneven heating. e.g. Needed to rearrange bacon frequently – still unevenly cooked. Some under-cooked, others slices burnt. Thermostat erratic. “minimum setting” did not keep pancakes warm – kept cooking and blacked some. Could not leave for even a few minutes. Cleans well in dishwasher. Will return.

I love the size of this frying pan. It is 3” deep as well so it holds quite a bit. Because it has an element on the bottom the heating is a bit uneven but all of them are like that. Otherwise it is a great product

Did not even use the De’Longhi Electric Skillet. Out of the box it is missing teflon coating is several areas and has chips of teflon missing where I can see bare metal. I don’t know if it is refurbished or used, but there was no quality control in sending this item out. I have a replacement coming out and hoping it is in better condition. I will update when the new one is received.

I received the replacement skillet in December and there were no signs of wear to it, so cosmetically it looked brand new in box. I typically use the electric skillet 4 times a month for cooking bacon or pancakes only, making quantities of both to freeze. The replacement killet was used 7 times before it started to act up by not maintaining heat setting. For example, my pancakes are made at 425 deg F. IMO the skillet took an inordinate time to reach near 425. After the batter was poured, the skillet would drop to well under 250, and start to oscillate up to less than 400 and back down to 250ish. The pancakes should have taken 2 mintues to cook, but 12 minutes later the very light pancakes were taken off the skillet and put in the oven. I checked the De’Longhi site and was led to who appears to be only authorized repair facility for warranty work: The Coffee Boss in Lancaster SC. I emailed The Coffee Boss for instructions and boxed up the skilled based on their packing instructions. USPS postage was $49+. Needless to say, I didn’t mail the skillet. I took it home and it is sitting on a shelf in the basement. When I clean out the basement during our township’s annual bulk throw out day it will go out with the rest of the trash accumilated over the winter.

This electric frypan can do SO MUCH. I grew up with an excellent one, and tried to find one just as good. This is it! It’s great to be able to set the temperature precisely. Burgers, pancakes, grilled cheese, stew, and on and on. Nonstick surface of the inside AND outside make this EASY to clean. Glass cover let’s one see how dinner is progressing. Cannot beat the price for how well this works. Very satisfied.

Great addition for my little basement suite kitchen. Between it and my Toaster oven, I can manage any meal for two of us. I am saddened though that the knob of the lid constantly has to be tightened. I guess it doesn’t matter how much money you spend on something anymore, it’s all made in china regardless of the brand name. Apart from that nuisance problem, the Delonghi electric skillet suits my needs and I have made a few nice meals already, including a rib eye steak with onions and zucchini zuddles.

Use mainly for bacon and eggs. It will not simmer something like a pot roast. The temperature control is an on/off switch so either it is full on or full off and the temperature swing means it stays on at full blast for about 15 seconds boiling graving and liquids and then off for about a minute with no simmering or bubbling. With the control on the right side the further away side is the hottest, the closest a little cooler and the middle more cooler. You have to move stuff like bacon or sausage around else some cooks faster. Looking for something better even if it cost a little more.

Heats quickly and works ad well as the high priced models. The higher sides of the pan are great for stews or stir fry. Great value forn the price

Great skillet. Maintains temperature well. Very large and easy to mix stuff without spilling all over the counter. I mainly use it for casseroles so have not noticed any unique hot or cold spots.
After about 6 months of very light use the nonstick coating is coming off. I have always just gently hand washed the skillet.

After just one year, in spite of taking care of it and making sure we used cooking oil or butter when frying, things started to stick. Now they stick badly. I mean, how can you screw up a grilled ham and cheese sandwich? I did! After buttering the outside of the bread and plopping it on a buttery sizzling surface, when I checked it just minutes later, the bread completely came apart and stuck to the pan. Avoid! Don’t get STUCK with poor quality.
