the best £12 ive ever spent. didnt expect it to be this high powered. Spent all day looking at different stuff, Carpet, my hair, even a dead spider. Seriously. get high and spend all day looking at anything and everything.

I bought this mini microscope for my 10 year old son as an Easter gift. He loved it and was quite pleased that it fit in his pocket, so he could take it with him on nature walks. He found it was especially good for looking at the lichen on a fallen log up close. We also had fun looking at sugar that had been spilled on the table. Th magnification is good and clear, and I thought it was a good purchase for the money.
However, after only using this microscope carefully for three days, it stopped working. Specifically, the light would no longer come on. My husband took it apart and found that the tiny bulb had burnt out, but that it was impossible to replace it as it was a part of the circuitry of the microscope. Unfortunately it seems that Amazon is out of stock of these, because I would like to get another for my son. At the moment only outside sellers seem to have them and they are much more expensive. Very disappointing.

I have purchased over 1000 items from Amazon, ranging in price from $10 to a few hundred dollars. THIS IS THE MOST USEFUL, AMAZING, AND MY FAVORITE, Item out of everything I have purchased. The clarity this shows, along with the magnification and l.e.d. light, is beyond words. I used it to examine trichomes on my plants to determine ripeness. What is not visible, becomes a forest ofClear trichomes that seem like skyscrapers. Unopened it anhour ago, and I have just ordered another one. I can’t put it down.

Amazing clarity! Very impressed! Took me 2 seconds to get it in focus!
Works perfect. Highly recommend.
Remember people this is a microscope not to be used the same manner like a magnifier. Set it down.
This is what I thought just a speck of nothing so used microscope…so I wanna know what THAT is! Same “specimen” next to a quarter for size comparison.

When the picture is clear and adjusted it is amazing, but unfortunately it is extremely hard to adjust this device!
It is not for kids or outdoors. It also cause headache after few minutes of use.
You MUST use it in a flat surface without any movement. The object that you try to view should be a flat and very small (I think the viewable area is like 1mm *1mm). You have to tear the object you inspect to get a very small piece of it to be able to see it.
The image is mirrored, if you want to see a little bit toward the right then you have to move the microscope to the left!
The worst thing is that it is not eligible for return!!

I use this to see trichomes on my plants and this works amazing for that.

I read some reviews where people were unhappy and couldn’t get this product to work. I don’t know how that could be, since I just tried it and freaked out at how cool it was! You need to remember that since it is so small, it is easy to move around and you can get motion sickness if you do that too much, oops! But, it works with or without the bright LED light (bright sunlight would probably work well). I can see very small things like how shiny my hair is and the pattern of the material in my clothes or the different overlapping fibres in cardboard. Perfect for just looking at small things and easy to use. I am not sure the super zoom works amazingly but it is a neat little thing and works great. Well worth the price! I have included a shot of my couch cover (fibers) and a dog hair on top of a piece of blue printed cardboard. Those are all the little dots of ink. I find this microscope to be better than a printer’s loupe.

Update:
I contacted amazon support because there was no return option. They were nice enough to send me a replacement for no charge. That one also had a broken LED. Like, what are the chances? Or is the product really that bad?
Original:
The LED does not work. I added a battery and pressed the LED button and nothing happened. How can I know if it works properly if I can’t even get the light on?
The fact that there’s no return policy for this item sucks. I mean, I’m willing to exchange it for a new one instead of returning it outright, but that doesn’t seem possible either. What a waste.

I usually rely on a 40X jewelry loupe for magnification. This is much better as I can see more clearly and 60X is way more effective. This work like a true microscope, so up&down seems/feel (spoon reflection effect) reversed as well as left&right. So it’s hard to navigate at first when trying to see and focus at the same time. Not easy to use freehand, better results standing on it’s own self and viewing laying on a flat surface.
I am very satisfied! Better than I thought. Great combo with a loupe.

It cost less than a tenner!!…so I really wasn’t expecting too much, so imagine my surprise when this little beauty came…I was really pleased with the quality for such a low cost scope, obviously it can’t compete with my desktop or digital binocular microscopes I have but then they cost a few hundred pounds…this one was for carrying in my backpack and for that it is perfect….some folks have said they have difficulty focusing…what I do is put it on a flat surface and focus it in on a piece of paper (the text) and usually leave it set, then when I come to look at something I find it easier to just raise and lower the scope little amounts to get the subject in focus instead of turning the wheel and that seems to work for me 99% of the time, and I also like the fact it uses a normal battery and not one of the button batteries that some LED’s use, speaking of which…it is a well powered LED not one of the little crappy dim ones that barely light the subject up, this one has more than enough power and on more than one occasion I have used it as a little torch to find stuff in the dark, that should tell you something of the power…So basically if your looking for a top performance scope this one is not for you, go and spend a few hundred quid and get a proper one…but…if you just want something to take on the trail with you in case you come across anything interesting and you need to just (have a nosey) then this is right up your street…it may take a short time to get used to it but once you do you will love it…I did…all the best and happy er…er…scoping.???…
