This is a great grinder. It is a bit noisy, but it’s a lower pitch than many if tried. I love the glass grind catcher, you don’t wind up with grounds stuck everywhere from static like you do with plastic catchers. Also, the grounds enter straight down from the top, so it does not hit the side and stick like side entry ones. You can set and forget the timer where you want it, and when you push the grind button it grinds to the preset time. Nice and consistent, say for my French press. The whole metal burr assembly can be easily disassembled for cleaning, which is great if you like oily dark roasts.

Sorry but this grinder is no good. My wife and I have been using this 2-3 times a day since July but it just broke inside the assembly that attaches the hopper to the grinder. The white plastic piece snapped in half adjusting the grind and it all fell apart when I attempted to clean it. The whole thing feels pretty cheaply made overall…wouldn’t recommend this one:(

Después de tener un molino de aspas decidí ir hacia adelante y comprar un molino de muelas, los modelos más económicos no me terminaban de convencer y los molinos profesionales aún me parecían un salto demasiado grande, después de mucho investigar me decidí por este modelo y hasta la fecha no me ha decepcionado, la molienda se vuelve uniforme después de unos cuantos usos y la taza que se logra es muy superior a lo que lograba con el de aspas.
Aspectos importantes a considerar: No llega a moler demasiado fino, lo cual es comprensible por el rango de precio; su uso es limitado a 20 segundos, está en el manual y 20 segundos es más que suficiente para moler el café que vayamos a utilizar en el momento. Obviamente requiere darle limpieza para su buen funcionamiento.
Si buscan un molino para usar con prensa francesa, chemex, v60, moka o similares, este molino es una excelente opción dándole un uso adecuado.

If I had to re-buy a burr grinder, I would pay way closer attention to the reviews of the volume. This does a great job grinding, but it’s awfully loud.
Other reviews mention it’s loud – it is. It’s quite loud. Loud enough I’ve actually got it in the basement, away from the kitchen in our split-level house so I don’t wake my small children in the morning when they’re sleeping and I absolutely want to grind my beans to drink my coffee in peace and quiet.
Make no mistake, though. Burr grinders will improve your coffee drinking life. Get one. Maybe not this one, if you want a quiet model, but definitely get one.

Love it. Am writing this a year after we got it just to make sure it lasted. So far so good. Static issue with the grinds wasn’t that much of an issue with regular cleaning of the glass receptacle, and was only ever an issue when we lived on the dry prairies. Living on the coast solved that.
The only issue we’ve had was when the grind setting was ‘in between’ thicknesses. The grinder seemed to stop working, but with a rotation of the adjuster and a stern talking to, it starting working and hasn’t talked back since.

Overall, I’m pleased with this grinder, which is far better than blade grinders I’ve owned. This Bodum unit grinds the coffee beans very consistently, is relatively quiet and I like the automatic timer, so I don’t have to measure the coffee when putting it in the pot’s filter. My only issue is that after a week of daily use, excess coffee grounds starting clogging up inside and fly out onto the counter, creating a mess. However, this is easily fixed in just a few minutes by taking the unit apart and cleaning everything with a brush, such as a toothbrush or makeup foundation brush.
Here’s a cleaning TIP I saw on YouTube: After cleaning and reassembling the unit, grind 2-3 tablespoons of Minute Rice through it. The rice kernels do a great job of cleaning out any remaining grounds around the burr gears. I imagine this trick would work for any burr grinder.

Overall, I love the performance of this grinder. It grinds the coffee very finely with much less noise than my previous Oster burr grinder. The glass ground coffee container affords less static electricity meaning there is very little coffee stuck to the sides. However, I have taken a star off because the Bodum Bistro could become the ideal grinder if they would make the bean hopper out of glass (not plastic), increase the hopper capacity and change the hopper lid to a more user friendly design. It is very difficult to seal the hopper lid without pressing down VERY FIRMLY and frankly, I’m apprehensive about pushing too hard and breaking the plastic hopper. Are you listening Bodum???

Molino doméstico, muy fácil de operar y de limpiar. La molienda es uniforme y hasta ahora no he tenido ningún problema. Además es muy bonito y más pequeño de lo que esperaba, pero no te dejes confundir por el tamaño, es impresionante lo bien que funciona.

Using as a daily grinder the first week it performed as expected but within the next few weeks the grind started getting inconsistent which is a shame because this grinder is very convenient. I had purchased this machine while it was on sale and I would still recommend it just because it’s easy to use and very easy to clean.
Edit July 12th : I’ve dropped the rating to a 1 star because now the grinder has stopped grinding the proper amount entirely and is not consistent at all even after cleaning.

This grinder is SO much better than the Hamilton Beach grinder that I returned. It had a plastic cup that had so much electricity that the ground coffee flew everywhere. And the grinding was horrible…..big pieces in the fine grind. This Bodum grinder has a glass cup so pretty much no coffee flying all over your counter. Also it grinds the coffee extremely fine to coarse. We love it.
