I bought this for my daughter’s 1st birthday. The bag does not have much filling, so I can see that I will need to buy more in the future. For a 1 year old, though, it should work well. I didn’t want a chair high off the ground anyway. You can see sizing with the attached photo of my 3 and 1 year olds.

We’ve owned three different chair-style Big Joe beanbags that have held up to years of use (needing some refills along the way), but this one is terrible by comparison. It arrived with a mis-sewn handle so a raw edge of fabric is exposed. Each end of the handle is sewn into a seam of the bag, and when it arrived one side had a 3-inch wide gap where the seam was coming apart. Thankfully it’s double-stiched so the interior of the seam is keeping the beans inside for now, but the exterior will continue to come apart (even after a repair). It was on sale for $25 so is fine for my toddler and for his sisters to use as a footrest with their dorm-style Big Joes, but this thing is not going to hold up and is not worth the retail price.

I bought this to see how my 5 and 3 year old daughters would take to it, if at all. They love it! They run and jump onto it, and I think that it holds up well. It also satisfies a need for compression for my 3 year old.
As far as cleaning it….I’m so impressed! My youngest daughter has a semi-fresh rug burn on her wrist. As I mentioned before, both of my girls love to run and jump onto it. Last night was no exception. Unfortunately, whatever the material the chair is made out of caused the rug burn to open and bleed. As soon as I noticed it, I took the chair away. I was a bit upset. We had only had this chair for days. Days! Why did the first stain have to be blood?? I went back into Amazon and read the product description. It stated it’s easy to clean, stain and water resistant. Ok, we shall see…in the morning. Yup. I let the stain sit overnight. The blood stain! Let! It! Sit! This morning, my first attempt was with a baby wipe. I wasn’t expecting much…but it’s gone!! No more blood stain! Yes! This product IS stain resistant and easy to clean!!!

Sadly the 2 bean bag chairs that I purchased for a Kindergarten Class are now flat as a pancake! They have only been in the class for 4 months and the beans inside have not stood up to the daily wear and tear of the kids. The students are very sad as these chairs had become a very important component of their “chill zone.” IF we could get new inside filling that would be lovely.

My 3 year old adores this product. It has helped him to calm down and read books at bedtime. He has also taken to running and leaping on it, and so far it has held up (it’s been about 2 weeks). It’s small, but I can sit in it comfortably too (not beside my son, though).

Been looking everywhere for an actual bean bag, finally found this one and decided to buy it.
Not bad; material’s thick so it seems durable and I believe it’s washable. Good size, and just right for what I was looking for. I like sitting on the floor and don’t like the restrictions of being stuck in one place as with a chair, so a bean bag seemed fit. What I like about this bean bag is that’s it’s easy to mold into what you want.
Fast delivery; just arrived today. Was excited and placed it in my room right away. Came in my room a few minutes ago to sit on it and found a bead… not a good sign, but couldn’t find a hole it came out of.
For now… it’s a 5/5.
*UPDATE May 26,2018*
So it’s been 25 days since I first got my bean bag. Sadly, I returned it yesterday. Didn’t hold up since the first time I got it. No longer plump and supportive as seen in the earlier pictures. When sitting on it, you’d be able to feel the floor below you. Lost its shape. Still want a bean bag, so I’ll probably be putting my money towards a foam bean bag instead.

It’s okay. Very durable fabric not very soft, canvas/teflon/bullet-proof feeling. It is comfortable and very easy to clean. I actually prefer this to the velvety or suede fabrics- FOR SURE!
The Filling is stiff, it is only made of solid styrofoam beads which may have felt soft in our 80’s giant bags is very rock like in such a small form factor. The size is small as intended but stuffing the same size beads in a much smaller bag with stiffer fabric result in a hard fall or slouch. I can’t fit in it but my toddlers can find a cozy pose every time.
First bought the spicy lime, went for another in black on sale. Green or any other color than black is the way to go. Black will show every stain and fiber your kids rake across it.
Update: July 2017. Bag is a pancake. Initially somewhat impressed with the lime bag and super price, I also purchased the black Big Joe a month later when on lightning/daily/unadvertised deal. To date, the lime bag has become just a bag -rather quickly I might add. Either my kids are eating styrofoam or it has just compressed so much that there is really no ‘bean’ left to it. The black one seems to be holding more bean power and not flattened as much as the lime color when considering the difference in purchase time/use.
Dropping from 4 stars to 2 on this one.

Looked to be somewhat comfortable upon arrival (a little flat so difficult to picture how it would hold its form) however shortly after using it, it immediately flattened out even more and the white styrofoam “beans” started coming out the seams. When we opened the box, we could see these styrofoam beans throughout but thought it was packaging styrofoam… little did we know it was the inside beans already coming out. Unable to contact Big Joe through my order details to inquire about replacement beans or chair. Very expensive for what you get. Would not recommend.

This product does not look like the picture of the description. This bag is small,hardly has enough beans, I can hold it with 1 finger and the zipper is broken. I am not pleased and will be requesting a refund

This product does not look like the one on the picture. It does not have enough pellets in it to be used as a seat. I would like to have it replaced. It is a misrepresentation.

The beans inside do squish and get deflated when kids jump on it. The outer cloth is very durable so beans can get replaced. Vibrant true colors. Easy to wipe off spills and dirt.

It is very disappointing that the bag does not come with a double layer that can be washed separately. I bought 2, and both are now dirty. Not easy to clean. I also found that they flatten quickly, and when I tried to open them to add fill, thousands of foam pellets literally went flying everywhere because of static charge. I expected better design for the money.

I love this beanbag! When it came I thought it was quite poorly filled as it seemed really light. But it is perfe try filled and my 4 year old LOVES it. Easy to wash material. Nice and sturdy. We will buy a second one for sure
