These are an awesome source for cooking Or baking! I can’t say it replaces parchment paper because they CANNOT GO ON BROIL, learned the hard way… But they can happily bake with no issue. Cleaning is well a little awkward depending on your sink size, sometimes it’s messy and they move around like a slippery snake and splash water all over (Regardless of how gentle you are washing). I do love these all in all, and make tons of cookies or sheet pan meals with them. I shouldn’t need to buy them again because these should last a life time

After years of use, our non-stick baking sheets were due for replacement. We bought some aluminum sheet pans from Canadian Tire, and had been lining them with aluminum foil to allow for easy clean up, but we were going through a lot of aluminum foil and it felt wasteful. I ordered this set of silicone baking mats because they were the perfect size to line our sheet pans, and my sister said they were very good at preventing food from sticking.

They have proven to be very good at preventing food sticking, with everything from chicken wings to cookies peeling right off. That’s great, because I believe most teflon non-stick is designed to either prevent protein (food) or sugar (baked goods) from sticking, so you might find that savoury foods stick while sweet foods don’t, but these silicone liners don’t stick to anything.

Clean up is fairly easy, I usually wipe any residual food or oil off the mat with a paper towel, then scrub the silicone mat with soap and water, then rinse and leave it to dry. If you use a scrub brush to clean the mat, you may find it doesn’t clean all the residue off, so you may still have an oily coating on the mat. I’d recommend using a cloth or sponge to clean the mats to prevent an oily film from clinging to them.

While these baking mats are the correct size to line the bottom of the sheet pans, I do wish they went up the sides of the pans to keep the sides clean if the food rolls around or spatters during cooking.

As others report, these are substandard products. Both of mine have discolored and become ineffective after use at 350 for making English muffins. The last batch stuck badly, and the silicone appears to be permanently transferred to the high-end half-sheet baking pans. See attached photos. These mats worked only briefly before deteriorating and ruining a baking project.

Releases horrible smoky fumes that give us all a headache and that’s at a low temperature. Was hoping this would reduce over time but on the 4th use and still smoking.

Ok… I didn’t have amazingly high hopes for these but boy, was I surprised! I go through a TON of parchment paper (actually not anymore, now that I use these!) and these are an awesome asset to any kitchen. If you bake a lot, roast veggies, make croutons, bake buns, breads, etc… these will be your best friend. They are slightly bigger than your standard Bakers Secret type rectangular pan, which is actually awesome because the edges prevent anything you’re cooking on the mats, from running underneath & making a mess. Bonus… you never have to wash the pan underneath! I usually bake oven fries (potato wedges) on these, and that means some oil, lots of parsley & spices, °425 heat, etc….. the potatoes brown very nicely, you can use waaaaaaaayyyyyy less oil… and if there are crispy bits or browned areas on the mats, they come right off after you dunk them in some hot soapy water. I usually do that immediately after removing the potatoes, but one night I forgot & they came clean just as easily the next day! All you need is a dishrag to wipe them well, and they’re good to go! They may discolor slightly… if using regularly at higher temperatures, but for the most part… after about 100 uses they look & perform like brand new! Extremely impressed with the quality!

First off, I have to say that I love parchment paper — it’s super versatile in terms of what food you can cook, from bacon to cookies. So when I saw these baking silicone mats, I decided to take a chance and buy them, because if they could replace parchment paper, I’d get a lot of mileage out of them.

Well, I’ve used them for baking chicken, cookies, brownies and veggies… and it’s like each time it goes in the oven, a piece of the food bakes itself in the mat! I wash all my utensils and cookware immediately after any meal, but no amount of scrubbing could remove the first large stain (chocolate). I didn’t want to give up, so I soaked it for a bit and then ran it through the dishwasher. It came out basically the same. And after multiple uses, it’s worked up a greasy feeling to it that seems really hard to wash away.

Maybe I’m doing something wrong with the mats, but I think I’m going back to parchment paper — cleaner, easier to dispose of, and you can pick the size of the sheet, unlike these baking mats which are one-size-fits-a-very-specific-size. From a value-to-usage ratio, these mats are at the bottom of my list.

I’ve has silicone mats in the past that just get really sticky after a use or two, but these ones are so much better. They fit my trays well – just a little taller than the trays but there’s no overlap. I’ve made cookies on them, and buffalo cauliflower, which is horrible about sticking to stuff, and it didn’t stick at all plus it browned better. I wish they came with closure tie to keep them rolled up but I have little ones from the dollar store I use and it makes them easy to store.

I have a SILPAT mat I purchased from Sur La Table and it works so well that I thought I’d purchase another. While searching for one on amazon I came across the amazon basics mat. Based on the reviews and price point I thought this was too good to be true and ordered a set to see for myself.

Needless to say I was extremely disappointed and in hindsight really wish I hadn’t opened the package right after breakfast. The mat came with a long hair half fused into the product. As in half the hair is dangling off the mat and the other half is baked right into the silicone. 🤢🤮 It wouldn’t be as disgusting if this wasn’t a product I ‘d be using to prepare food.

No sure how a such a big successful company can let something like this happen. Especially when it’s marketed as food grade silicone. This is what I CAN see, what can I not. Makes you wonder about the condition of the facility it was manufactured in.
