I’m not thrilled with this digital frame, the picture quality is only OK and not all of the features work as described – primarily, I’ve tried everything I can find & followed the provided instructions, and I cannot make the slideshow randomize. It only plays images in order.
You can randomize the shift from image to image, but you cannot randomize the order displayed.
Also, as I mentioned, image quality is pretty mediocre. Colors appear slightly off, and brightness on several outdoor images is blown out. Images are not as crisp as they are on a laptop monitor.
I doubt I’d buy it again, I’d probably pony up the extra money for a higher quality display.

The product itself works. It displays your collection of photos in a slideshow format with simple transitions.
The quality of the photos displayed on the screen is nothing remarkable. I would compare it to the type of quality our TV screens we had in the early 2010s. The distressed wood is fake plastic. You would have to manually crop all of your photos if you want it to look clean on the display since it will display your photos in the rotation and orientation as it was uploaded to the card/drive. All-in-all it’s not terrible as long as you know what you are paying for upfront. There’s a bit of dirt behind the glass which slightly bothers me but not enough to warrant a return.

While easy enough to turn on and figure out how to use, most of the photos on my memory card were pixelated. I guess this cheap, plastic wood-look frame is made for photos of equally low quality. Also, after changing/adjusting the slideshow settings, the frame would still display the photos using whatever time length and transition effects it wanted. However, what made this item an immediate return/refund was the fact that it was missing pieces. The box says it should include the frame, a frame stand, power adapter and instructions. The only items in the box were the frame and power adapter. Can’t really set this frame anywhere without the stand! Save yourself the headache: Drop a little more dough on a better frame.

UPDATE: My frame stopped working 2 weeks after purchase. 😢 Although plugged in, it acts as if it has no power…and, yes, I have checked to make sure the outlet is working.
I wanted a digital photo frame that was so easy to use that my mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s could easily view family photos. I was not looking for bells and whistles, just a large viewing area with crisp photos where I could program a simple transition between photos (there are more elaborate transitions available on this unit but I just wanted a simple swipe) and pick how long the photo displayed. When I turn if off, I wanted it to go back to the same thing when I turned it on. My mom is in an assisted living facility and I am not always there to help her so I needed the frame to be as simple as power on and power off. This one is. The only problem I had in setting it up was that initially I could not see the pictures that I put on the SD card or a thumb drive. I had to google a bit to find out that my resolution was too high. Once I reduced the resolution everything worked perfectly. I had the resolution so high that I could have displayed the photos 10 feet high and, of course, this is not necessary in an 8″ frame. I looked at a plethora of frames and read twice as many reviews and settled on this frame. I am glad that I did.

I purchased this frame primarily because its rustic wood frame would go well with my decor. I was also very pleased with the picture quality. I returned it because there is no random order display option, and the transition effects are kind of annoying. I was looking for a simple “fade”, but that option is not available, and even the “no effect” didn’t work but instead resulted in a tacky rotation between slides.

A very thoughtful gift and it does the job, but shop around before settling on this one especially considering the price tag vs quality.
The stand points the frame up rather high and it has limited good viewing angle.. the picture cannot be seen without significant colour distortion if you view it at anything below a direct viewing angle. In the other direction it’s mildly white-washed which isn’t so bad, but the non-adjustable stand points the frame up rather high, so unless you have it on a low table you’re going to run into the colour distortion issue. For example, having it on my desk, it’s pointed up too high and the pictures appear dark, are hard to see and look weird. So I need to prop a book under the stand foot to see the pictures properly and the whole setup just looks messy. It’s really too bad the stand isn’t adjustable because that alone would have helped significantly.
A good picture frame simply shouldn’t do this.
Resolution could be higher – otherwise stunning high res. pictures look just ok but won’t have the same effect.
The software on the machine is somewhat limited, most expected features are there, but it will only rotate through pictures in the order they appear on your memory stick. You can’t randomize them. The menus and buttons aren’t very responsive. In other words, you can’t quickly navigate the menus. It takes a small moment for each button click to do anything which isn’t a big deal, but as a result when I want to skip a series of photos it takes forever.
Sometimes photos do appear distorted or cut off, but it’s only once in a while – not a constant issue in my experience.
I gave it 2 stars instead of one because it technically does work.
