After looking up on YouTube and finding a video on how to replace the units battery, things turned out to be great, battery fits and hooks up to the gps unit just like the old one. I do recommend finding a video on how to do it, its not overly complicated but trying to describe the procedure w/out pictures would be a little difficult.
So far the battery has lasted at the same rate the as old original battery when it was new, so for use in the car its great, out on a hike I think the battery life would be to short- a few hours at best.(same as when the gps unit was new).
Also I have found by not charging the battery(gps unit) until its depleted, will carry its life much longer.
Am so very happy to find this battery and give new life to my ol gps unit, which has many places saved and I have no idea how I would have saved those places on a new unit if that had been the case. Please note once your old battery is fully gone and wont take a charge, your computer can’t recognize the device, and I’m not sure if those old saved places I’ve been are saved anywhere else other than the gps.

I found the connection to be incorrect (3 prong instead of 2). I contacted the company and received an answer within 15 minutes. I considered that REAL GOOD customer service and the service was 5 star.. I was advised to cut the yellow wire and splice the remaining to the old connector. I did it works fine. The 3 star was because of the work I needed to do to make it operable. The wiring on these are very fine and need special attention when cutting/splicing.

Not a stock battery whatsoever. It powers the GPS and was easy to install.
Stock Garmin batteries have a pin that enables them to work right I believe, with this installed I get the message that the accessory is not supported repeatedly. It could be my 7 year old GPS is damage, or it could be the battery.
Pros : cheap and a replacement for the OE battery
Cons : May be the reason my old GPS acts funky.

I tried to replace the old dead battery on my GPS Garmin Nuvi 255W. The Up Start battery would not connect to my Nuvi 255W even though it claimed it was compatible The connection power cable was 2 and a half inch long. The original old battery cable on my Nuvi 255W was about a half inch long. The Up Start battery where it connected to the Nuvi 255W was incompatible with the original internal connection and in no way would connect to the internal Nuvi 255W female connector. The Up Start connector did resembled the old battery connector. The Up Start battery dimensions were identical but not the cable male bttery connector.
The only way the Up Stat battery could be used to power the Nuvi 255W is by cutting the cable on the old battery and and the Up Start battery cable and solder the old battery connector to the Up Start cable wires.
Unfortunately I would like to give the Up Start battery a zero.

Installed it this week, and it’s working so far. The battery in my GPS was stuck in with adhesive which was not reusable, so I had to supply my own double-sided tape. The product would be better if it came with a small piece of adhesive, because it’s the only thing that’s missing.

On the really early models the batteries lasted forever — not true with the later series — they go down if you look at them crossways — this batt brand offers good value, if you keep your older model in service, learn how to do the replacement and expect this every 2 or 3 years — and you will need a #5 torx. Instead of double sided tape a pea-sized measure of any popular “mounting putty” will do, just squish it down. Many how to videos online.

I have had my Garmin 265W GPS for quite a while and it has lifetime updates so I didn’t see any reason to get a newer model. When the battery stopped holding a charge, I ordered this one and it has been working great for quite couple of years now. The battery was purchased in May 2015.
It was very easy to replace the battery in the Garmin. You just have to be gentle with the cables to not damage anything when you do open the unit.
Although phones can replace these stand alone GPS units, I still prefer to use the Garmin on longer trips. I don’t use the unit often but when I do, the battery is still working great.
I would recommend this replacement battery to anyone.

Excellent replacement for my Garmin Nuvi 265w.
This set does not come with tools but I was able to use my miniature screwdriver that cam with my glasses to get the GPS open.
Within seconds of plugging the new battery in my GPS fired up after being dead for 6 months and being told by garmin to first buy a new plug and then that I had to buy an entirely new GPS system.

I have not used my GPS in awhile ever since smart phones have been around, but I like having it as a backup. So when I used my GPS ( its a Garmin nuvi 765t) I realized it wasn’t holding a charge anymore. Then I learned I could replace the battery by myself and came here to find one. I chose this based on that it was compatible with my GPS. I was able to replace the battery and now my GPS has found new life.
