Works AWESOME. Our family is not always able to eat at the same time. This rice cooker will keep the rice warm and perfect for 12 hours. We LOVE using this cooker. The rice stays moist and never dries out. The veggies can sit above the rice in the veggie tray keeping them warm too. We’re totally happy with this product.

I have used it twice to cook white Basmati long grain & both times it spewed starchy water out the top vent which puddled all over the surface the cooker was sitting on. The first time I was so a anxious to try out the cooker I forgot to pre-wash the rice & thought this may be the problem. However, the rice was washed the second time with the same result. Both times I used the measure cup supplied for 4 cups & water to exactly the 4 cup line on the cooking bowl. I had to use a flashlight in order to see when the water reached the mark.
After the cooking cycle was finished, I left the cooker on “keep warm” for about 15 minutes & the rice was cooked perfectly to my taste.

I had a 4 cup B&D rice maker, didn’t last more than 6 uses. So I purchased this Hamilton Beach 37541 Digital Simplicity 4-20 Cup Rice Cooker and Food Steamer, Silver. I have used it twice already and works great ! It says 4-20 cups but that’s going by the cup they give you which that cup is actually 3/4 of a real cup. It’s very light to handle and easy to clean. Comes with a 5 year warranty… ***NOTE but that’s only for USA, people in Canada only get 1 year ! I bought it for the 5 yr warranty but that’s not the case for me. (I’m in Canada).
** Update after using it a few times, it hard making the perfect rice. Always overcooked .. cooking time of 45 minutes way too long

I own 2 Hamilton beach rice cookers and they work great. I make rice pilaf and many different recipes, no issues. Make sure when cooking brown rice to put in only 1.5 cups of water per cup of rice not 2 cups so that the rice is fluffy!!!!!!!!

Works great! Except that it burns/browns the bottom of the rice. My rice cooker came with a small scratch on the bottom of the inner pot and I never bothered to ask for a replacement since I didn’t think it would matter too much. I really wish there was a way to buy just the inner pot itself, but sadly I don’t see one.

I had this almost exact same model for over 7 years, but we bent and eventually ripped the cord. If anything, the cord should be much longer so that the wire isn’t bent back and forth until it breaks. Dead easy to use. remember to soak the rice for 20 mins before starting. Not sure if it’s a placebo, but it does seem to make the rice taste better and fluffier.

I needed a bigger rice cooker for the holiday parties that I volunteered for. Cooking for 70 is not easy however this made is easier for me to cook 10(uncooked) cups of rice at a time. I love that it always take only 45 minutes to cook. The con would be the bottom does burn a little is left too long on warm.

This pot is not a great deal. I bought it and in about a year, it just stopped working even though I took very good care of it. I’m the only user, but it just stopped working. My sisters have had other brands for several years now, and their pots still work vrry efficiently. Hamilton Beach did not build this pot well. Dont purchase it. I will stay far from this pot.

Had to find a replacement from my zojirushi rice cooker I used for 5 years and I’d have to say it’s definitely a downgrade. You get what you pay for.
Rice brown easily at the bottom or becomes mushy with this rice cooker. This rice cooker is not as forgiving and the rice texture doesn’t come out as good as my old zojirushi but if you are not a picky rice eater this is a pretty good value rice cooker where u can steam and simmer simple stuff with. I picked this rice cooker over other cheap ones because of the simmer feature.

The product is great! I am using this rice cooker to make white rice and probably will only use it to do this one thing.
It does the job and make chewy, sweet rice.
On the other hand…
Item Weight 2.7 Kg
Product Dimensions 26.9 x 28.7 x 29 cm
These two pieces of info trolled me so bad. I didn’t expect a giant to be delivered to my place haha. The real size and weight are much bigger.

I used to have a Hamilton Beach 14 cup rice cooker that was extremely similar to this one. I no longer have it (don’t worry, it didn’t break), but since then I’ve upgrade to this 20 cup model, and I am thoroughly pleased with it. I frequently use it to cook white rice, which can be done in just three button clicks. Sometimes I use it with the steamer basket to cook vegetables or dumplings. I find that it can cook rice very well between 3 and 16 cups. Making less than 3 cups can be done, but then it seems to be more sensitive to small errors in measurement. It defaults to 45 minutes for white rice, but depending on how much rice you’re making and how much water you put it it’ll automatically adjust the cooking time. It’s really nice to be able to just set it and forget it while it cooks for you. The rice paddle it came with is great for serving rice, or making large dumplings, and can sit in its holder on the side of the rice cooker.
