These caps work similar to the kit lens cap that comes with the Sony a6000. You pinch the center of the lens cap to release the grips that hold the lens cap into place (or to put it back on). On these replacement caps, there are no lips on the plastic where you pinch the lens, so there is nothing to really hold on to. I would have never thought to look for this until I actually tried putting on and taking off the lens cap. The Sony branded one is significantly easier to add or remove thanks to this extra plastic. With this replacement, I have to fumble the cap into place and fear I could damage the lens in the process. In my opinion and experience, its worth the extra money to get the Sony branded lens caps.
There are no instructions as to how to loop the cord into the cap (or how to unloop the cord from the sticker adhesive that comes attached). While this may be common sense to some, I couldn’t figure it out in a reasonable amount of time. It comes with a sticker adhesive to attach which works fine, but adds bulk to the lens cap.

I bought this pair of 62mm lens caps in case I lose my original one. That skinny cord that you can attach to the lens cap and to the camera, I do not use it. Some people thought it would break very easily, well let me tell you that’s far from the truth. I wrapped it on two of my fingers on both hands, I huffed and I puffed, to no avail could I break it. I don’t know what it’s made of, it’s like braid fishing line, very thin and very STRONG!

The caps fit well on my 16-70 Zeiss lens. The little leash seems to fit well. I’m not sure why they included the little adhesive pad, when there is a hole in the cap itself to directly anchor the leash to instead of praying that the sticky pad won’t come loose. Toss the pad and attach it directly through the hole and you won’t have any worries.

I’m going to start by letting you know to make sure you get the right size for your camera.
This cover is better that the original one that came with my camera.
So yeah it works. There nothing else to say about it.
If you’re curious I use it for my Canon T6i. Fits perfectly and is a good deal.

The cap is deep enough to grab well, and grips to the threads. Not flimsy at all. The lanyard sits well on the focus ring. Even the outside diameter fits well enough that it looks like a factory-included component. The package comes with 2 caps and 2 lanyards. The caps have a lanyard connection point built in, but come with adhesive connection points as well, so I used the second lanyard on the factory lens cap for my other lens! I’m very happy with the quality and how well it stays on.

Although I miss the Nikon logo on the front, they fit well. The cord has sticky tape on one end, for the lens cap. Then you can secure them to the lenses with the little string. (Don’t stick the tape to your lens and try to tie the lens cap with the string. If you’re that stupid, give me your Nikon!)

These caps fit snugly, more so than the original. For those who say they don’t, I wonder if they bought the right size.
For those who say that the cap is hard to pinch, this is correct – it’s a drawback to the snug fit. HOWEVER, simply pinch the cap on the outside edge rather than the center and voila! Comes off easily, but without falling off. Works great like that. (With the original just a touch and the cap sometimes came off.)
I didn’t attach the lanyard with the adhesive. Instead I looped the lanyard through the hole provided in the cap. The elastic fits perfectly around my lens put I don’t want anything dangling from my lens, so I will simply slip the elastic on my wrist. So lots of options. Give it a try!

The pinch tabs on this cap are not high enough, so if you’re buying these caps for the purpose of using the caps inside a deep hood, look somewhere else. I intended it to use those on a Panasonic 20mm f1.7 with a JJC LH-46GFII hood, and it’s a total fail there. I’m thinking of gluing something on there to make it usable, but as it is now, it’s terribly tricky to get the cap off, or on for that matter. One extra star for the price.
There are lumix pinch caps available for about 7 bucks somewhere else, a big photo equipment site starting with b and ending with h. They have 5 star reviews.

Better than the original. with the strap to hold the cap while taking pictures. I don’t know why Sony did not have a strap in the first place. Seems like they want you to loose the cap so that you can buy another one. Not sure about the glue that sticks the string onto the cap. Seems firm enough at this time. But I can see it coming off, if tucked accidentally.

I ordered the JJC product for my M50 Canon. I’d rather lose one of these caps than the ridiculously expensive OEM cap that comes with the camera! I order two caps, as I usually carry extra caps for my lenses. Worth every penny compared to a damaged UV filter or lens itself.
I recommend removing the tiny adhesive panel and just drawing the lanyard string through the hole provided (it does not interfere with the operation of the lens cap). The plastic bag that the product comes in is perfect for holding the spare and other misc items in my camera bag. Would be nice to have an extra 2-3 lanyards for my other lens caps!!
The elastic retainer band is rugged and provides enough give so it doesn’t interfere with focusing.

I like these, a lot. When I saw the pics where they recommended pinching the cap slides near the center, I had my doubts; I didn’t think that would give you very much leverage against the spring action. And, well, when I got them, I found that to be the case–pinching near the center wasn’t very practical at all. But the good news is that you can pinch them from the outer edge just fine. And with my lenses, these aftermarket caps are easier to remove and to replace than the stock lens caps. I liked these caps so much that I bought a couple more.
One last thing. I also like the little lanyard attachment point. I prefer that over the adhesive attachment option. It takes a little patience to get the lanyard to loop through the holes, but the finished result looks much cleaner and less obtrusive. Anyway, that’s my four cents. Good product. Nice low-cost alternative to name brand.

FIts perfectly. Each strap comes with a sticky base for outside of lens cap, which is very helpful since the cap is pretty small and some cameras have nowhere convenient to attach the other end of the strap on a retractable lens. One end of strap can be looped through shoulder strap.

Nice cap, but read this review if you are buying it!. The stick-on piece is pure laziness on their part. Look at the pictures and you can see that the cap already has a nice hole designed to thread a cord through. I bought the 37mm and 46mm versions for my Olympus cameras, and rather than sticking on the tabs I just removed them and threaded the cords through the hole in the caps. It is MUCH better solution as it will never come loose, but on the 37mm it was a little finicky to do and I ended up fishing it out from the other end with the point of a needle. Did they throw in the stick on piece to save assembly time? Throw it away and connect the cord directly!
