I’ve got and love 7 wyze cams and have setup another dozen+ at friends and family homes but they have started to falter with their services and I’ve had a few of them brick themselves during a firmware update and corrupt SD cards beyond repair.
This Eufy has a far superior picture quality, better wifi reception (it has a full or strong signal where Wyze cams are weak or medium strength), the person and pet detection is built into the camera’s AI instead of you having to pay for a cloud service, the notifications are FAST even on LTE with hardly any cool down at all. It also features NAS recording built in without having to fool with a custom firmware (which may be fixed now) but record to a NAS is easily setup in the recording menu of the EUFY and works perfectly.
I do have 2 gripes with the camera…
The main one is that there is no 2 factor authentication for my Eufy account. This is concerning because despite not being able to directly view footage or feed from a website, if you use a weak password, someone can theoretically login to the eufy app on their own smart phone and gain access to your camera. Fair enough so use a strong password right? What happens if a hacker decides they want to contact support posing as me and gives them a different email address and has customer support reset the password? I’ve experienced this and 2FA saved me. What security protocols does Anker support have to follow to ensure that they don’t unknowingly unlock my account to someone else?
Germany and Canada just recently got 2FA so hopefully the US is close behind. I will not be buying more of these until they get it and will be sticking with wyze until they implement 2fa. If they don’t have it by the end of the year, I will update my indoor cams with something else, which may be a shame because right now, no one offers anything NEAR this good of image quality for the price. Maybe ring and Arlo will have an affordable 2k camera by then if Eufy/Anker don’t get 2FA established for US customers.
Gripe number 2 is that I wish the tilt could tilt a little lower. I tested the cam on a bookshelf and my mantle and it seems like it should be able to look down further than it does so you’d have to prop it up with something under the camera or something like that to get a better look if it’s high on a shelf.
Honestly, all cloud devices run a risk of some form of security breach. Nothing is bulletproof. I think that I’d be comfortable sticking these in the garage, a workshop, patio, etc.. somewhere outside but nothing on the inside of my home just yet until I know for sure that Anker support couldn’t be socially engineered to give access to my account to someone besides me.

Installation fast and simple.
I only put 4 stars because recording quality is not very good when you enable HomeKit… as soon as you disconnect HomeKit, recording quality greatly improve even at 1080p
I initially gave 4 stars… but put 1 start now because today, both of my camera started to boot loop… they are unusable… I suspect that an automatic firmware update broke both camera.
I contracted support… hopefully they can fix this issue quickly.

I am suddenly unable to access my cameras, BUT I am able to access someone else’s! The photo is of someone else’s doorbell camera. I have full access to all their videos, camera and account settings. The app revealed their email address and name. I am assume at this point the same has happened to my info and data and so should you if you buy this compromised product! I am demanded full refund of this compromised product with ZERO security!!!

We just moved and needed a new indoor surveillance camera. We have a Wyze but feel it’s kind of limited. Then I noticed Eufy and eventually figured it was actually a sub-brand from Anker. As a long term Anker fan I immediately put an order to try it out. Well, we are very satisfied after two weeks of use.
For the price point I think it’s unbeatable for what we get. Besides all the standard features of an 360° indoor cam including intuitive UX and motion detection, its AI based human, pet, and crying detection is working very well, which is a huge value adding. Let alone the 2K video quality — man, that’s really clear!
We are using microSD for local storage for now. But the cloud storage doesn’t sound too expensive so we may try it out too. The app also provides access to the user community which is quite interesting TBH, that we can talk to other users and get information about other awesome products.
So basically I have zero complaints and 100% satisfaction for this small beautiful indoor cam from Eufy aka. Anker. Highly recommend! We will buy several more to mount on the ceiling. And I see they have outdoor cam too. I am going to try it too!

While it is stated this functions with Apple HomeKit, and it does – you cannot use half of the functionality when you use it with HomeKit. They don’t tell you that part.
The pan and tilt, auto/movement tracking, and several other functions are completely negated if you choose to use it with HomeKit. Otherwise you may use it with the app to get full functionality, but not with the app and HomeKit.
I wrote this review once already and was surprised to find it was deleted. I am hoping this one makes it to the page.

The camera was easy to install, the app works very well and integrates with Alexa, the picture quality is very good with a wide angle and the notifications are very fast. It seems to have excellent build quality. The motion tracking works very well.
It works as well as my Wyze Cam Pan, but is missing the ability to autoscan to preset way points and do time lapse photos. It uses the same USB connector as the Wyze Cam, so it is easy to interchange systems.
Overall, I put it on par with my Wyze Cam Pan when the price is similar, but would put it at a higher value if it could have increased functionality.

Overall awesome Product, love this when compared to other pan&tilt came. Only worry is price is doubled when compared to US( $51 which is 4000 approximately after conversion.. but in india it cost around 9k.. doubled.
Pros:
1.motion tracking :following the motion
2. Alert on detection on all / human / pet
3.Playback feature is awesome with speed 1X to 16X.
4.cloud recording ( cheap when compared to arlo)
5.quality of the product is robust
6.camera quality excellent ( in Day ,Dark with light ,with inbuilt camera lights very clear.)attached pic taken by camera with external light and built in.

Cons:
1. When power / electricity goes off and comes back you need wifi – internet connection to continue the recording in cloud or memory card.in that case ,you need to make sure internet is on permanently to avoid missing of any recording.
2. Playback speed 1X.. 2X..up to 16X was working fine with 4G network but now it is asking to connect wifi internet to have this facility . till 8th January it was working fine. Post global issue on January 9th on 4 G network.. issue started.( attached screen shot 3rd one)
3. Even though motion tracking is good but there are some demerits .. like if camera follow the motion and meantime if you find any other motion on other side it will not detect as camera is following the other motion.
4. Cloud is not accessible via app , may be due to country specific issue. I need to send mail.

WARNING. The MAC addresses printed on the bottom of these cameras are not necessarily accurate!
My router has a MAC address filter enabled for greater security. When I added the MAC address printed on the bottom of the camera to the filter on my router, that camera would not connect to the network, and then became completely unresponsive to the app, even when I tried to hard reset the camera. After many many days of troubleshooting the issue with Eufy support (who sent me 2 replacement cameras only for the same thing to happen), we discovered that the MAC address printed on the camera and the actual MAC address of the camera are not the same. Only the MAC address shown in the app once the camera is installed is correct. If you use a MAC address filter, first connect and install your camera to a network WITHOUT a MAC filter first, and then record the MAC address listed for the camera in the app. THAT is the real MAC to use for your MAC whitelist on your router!
Beyond that major frustration, this is a fantastic camera. The video quality and feature set blow many cameras that are double or triple the price out of the water, but it’s only around $80! Take my warning in hand, and buy this camera!

Unlike true, local storage systems, I felt like there was no way to really use this without having major privacy concerns. You have to install their mobile app to get to the terms, privacy policy, and data policy and to setup the camera. Their policies are unsurprisingly vague in key ways while also enumerating many different ways they can and will use your data – including some very broadly stated data collection practices (for example, collecting information about all WiFi networks in your area and about your mobile network service).
Nevertheless, I was interested in seeing how secure and private their system could be so I started the installation process only to be stopped immediately after setting up an account. Their mobile app *requires* that you give it access to your device’s location data. There is no way to provide your location in any other way. Worse, the app says “To find the optimal server to login, Eufy Security App requests to access [sic] your location.” First, this is not a request, it’s a requirement. Second, there is absolutely no valid reason why they would need your location with that level of precision, and certainly not for the stated reason.

Have several eufy cameras at home and l love them. However, this one needs a lot of improvement. For example:
1. It’s not supporting Apple HomeKit perfectly. A lot of features (AI detection and etc.) will be disabled when using HomeKit.
2. No geofencing option. Unlike eufyCam 2C, security mode for this camera doesn’t include geofencing. That means you have to switch mode manually. (The new update makes geofencing option available, but it`s a beta version for now. 8/23/2020)
3. Doesn’t have position recall option. I used to have a TP-Link pan and tilt camera. It had a feature to let me set several target positions for the camera, which allowed me to view different parts of my large living room quickly.
Come on eufy, you can do better!!!
(UPDATE) The camera’s performance became inconsistent after one month of use. Sometimes it asked me to replug the SD card, sometimes it stoped playing live videos. Very disappointed…

I purchased this camera to use with HomeKit Secure Video (HKSV), with my priority being that I did not want any information from the camera to exit my network on to the internet. I was well aware that this would result in compromises in terms of functionality and video quality, but that was a trade-off I was prepared to make for privacy. However, this camera has not met my needs in that regard. First of all, it is not possible to set up the camera using the Home app only – you have to download the Eufy Security app and set up an account with Eufy. Then, the app insists on having access to your location “so it can select the correct server” (I did not see any way to bypass this and manually select a server). Then, there is no way to connect the camera to your network if you block the internet access for the camera (as I do on my IOT LAN), so I had to create an exception in my firewall rules for the camera. Once I finally got it set up in the Eufy app, I had to update the firmware, and then I was on to the HomeKit connection phase. This took several tries to get working, and each time, I had to remove the camera from the Eufy Security app and start from scratch, while resetting the camera. I finally got the camera added to HomeKit, verified it was working, and then I re-initiated the block of the internet connection for the camera. Alas, after doing do, it is no longer possible to obtain a live snap shot of the camera on the main screen of the Home App, and live streaming is hit and miss (miss a lot more than hit, though). At least the HKSV recording works OK.
Overall, if you are looking for a privacy-centric HKSV camera, I would suggest looking elsewhere. I have been very disappointed with my experience with this camera, and plan to look elsewhere to see if I can do better (the much more expensive Logitech Circle View may be what I need). Rating – 1/10 at best.
Update (Aug 23, 2020): I read on another site that there was updated firmware (2.0.8.3) released for the camera, so I wanted to see if this would address my issues. After installing the firmware, what I discovered is that the camera requires an internet connection when booting (based n my packet capture, it looks like the camera is reaching out to Google DNS servers and to Eufy servers), but after it is online, the internet connection can be blocked and the camera will function in HomeKit. Livestreaming now works OK, motion-triggered recording works fine, but thumbnails do not update. If the camera is rebooted, it will remain offline until internet access is allowed for a brief period (following which it can be blocked again). So there has been some improvement, but the camera is still not completely functional in a privacy-conscious mode using HKSV. I will increase my rating to 2/10.
