Bought a couple sets for a tree outside – just to try something new. They looked great! So much so that I ordered more. I’ve seen items like these before at other places – some were hard to see in certain directions and others you don’t really get the right effect – they start to cascade then quickly stop. But these are fantastic. Easy to hang as they have extra cord length. They are quite bright. You can see them in every direction; and, they have a nice cascade effect so you really getting that cascading illusion. These are great!

Warm white is maybe a little brighter than warm white but are good. I put two strings of 10 in a tree and found it was not enough. Mostly because lights are not always on at the same time so looked a little sparse. Added a third string and it is just enough lights. Tree crown area I am covering is about 12 feet in height and 12 feet around. Description says 3 strings of ten lights can be connected together which is correct as I am noticing some lights are just slightly dimmer with three strings together but still looks good. I like the longer length of wire given between lights. I just wrapped wires around branches to hang them as they Are not heavy at all. Only complaint with these is keeping them hanging straight down as they look better this way.

My Dad is 85 and not in good health and so is in and out of hospitals. He seen these lights on a christmas tree last year at one of the hospitals and thought it was just the greatest thing ever. I told him they come in different colours but he just loved the blue. I bought him three pks and hung them on the window, next to his chair. He is suppose to get out of the hospital on Dec 18th. I cant wait for him to see these gorgeous lights. They all fall at different times and are SO beautiful.

 ***Update*** 1 year later, garage-kept, all lights still functional and bright. They were used last year for 6 hrs/day for 6 weeks.

They look so amazing in the dark! They look great even when it’s just cloudy. The tubes and strings do stand out awkwardly in trees in the daylight, though. However, this will not deter me from putting up more and making this a theme to our lights every year.

The spacing between the tubes on this set is perfect if you want to install them in a tree. And one set goes a long way for that very reason. We have 3 sets connected in our front tree and two sets connected in another tree (in the background to the left in the video).
You do begin to notice a slight difference in brightness at the 3rd set attached. I wouldn’t recommend attaching more than 3 sets together for this reason. The 4th and 5th sets are noticeably dimmed. Easily fixed with a splitter cord, if you know what you’re doing.

You’ll want to ensure the tubes hang down as straight as possible. If one is slightly tilted, it will stand out noticeably and deter from the natural “falling” effect of the lights in that tube.

To “waterproof”, we tightly taped each connection point between sets with electrical tape.

If hanging these tube lights in a large tree, I would recommend an extension pole and some time. If you have randomness in the tree’s branching heights and widths or lots of tiny, fragile branches (like in our Cottonwood), expect some frustrations with trial and error during hanging. It is worth it, though.

Countless cars have slowed down and stopped by our home to admire them, and our neighbors have complimented them. We enjoy watching the beautiful blue falling lights through our windows, as well. They truly are mesmerizing to watch.

Esperaba un poco más, son lindas pero la extensión es algo corta, son ligeras así que para mí eso fue lo mejor del producto porque las sujete del techo con solo una grapa.
Lo que no me gustó es que el efecto que promete de cometa, pues a mí parecer no lo consigue, parece el efecto de otra cortina o cascada. A mí no me incluyo ningún control remoto entonces para cambiar la función había que subir por la escalera y elegirlo cada vez que se conectaba.

 We first saw this type of light at a big Christmas display and instantly fell in love with it. I was nervous buying them online, not really knowing if they would shower at a speed I was happy with, if their color temperature would look good, or anything else.

I thought it might help if you saw a video of them being used how most people will likely want to use them – hanging in a tree. This is a small plum tree, perhaps 12′ tall and wide in all directions. There are 3 sets of lights on this tree, wired in series, one to another. As such, they all come on at the same time, but you can see they look rather independent of one another.

In the background are warm white LED lights from the local major hardware store. As you can see, they compliment each other just fine.

The polar bears in the front are the cool white which, while they look pure white, photograph at a more blue hue.

One odd note: The pictures for the lights in the listing show them hung in trees and the descriptions mention how they are the “perfect choice for outdoor tree decorations”. Yet, upon arrival, a note is included which says that the plug itself is not waterproof. It felt a bit vague on whether or not it could be used outdoors, or what. However, a little bit of plastic sheathing and some electrical tape fixed any concern of that being an issue. I just felt they should be more clear on this topic – otherwise the product looks great and functions well.

I really enjoyed these this season. I’ve had them outside in -40 weather and they still work great. Neighbors have asked me where I got my great lights. I hope they still work next year.
