Vonoprazan is used in the treatment of stomach ulcers and gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) . Vonoprazan works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach makes. Decreasing excess stomach acid can help ulcers heal and relieve symptoms such as heartburn and stomach pain. Vonoprazan is a potassium-competitive acid blocker used in the treatment of acid-related disorders and as an adjunct to Helicobacter pylori eradication. Used in combination with amoxicillin (dual therapy) or in combination with amoxicillin and clarithromycin (triple therapy) for the treatment of Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection in adults. Vonoprazan is used to treat erosive esophagitis and heartburn , conditions where there is too much acid in the stomach. This medicine is also used to treat heartburn caused by non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
