VJTI Mumbai, established in 1887 as the Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, has been a trailblazer in India's engineering education, research, and training landscape. Prior to independence, VJTI played a crucial role in fostering industrial development across united India. Following independence, it was instrumental in the establishment of prestigious institutions like the IITs and RECs, contributing significantly to the nation's technological advancement. Admissions to VJTI , Mumbai are strictly based on merit only through on-line centralised admission process as per the guidelines of Government of Maharashtra and are conducted by Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra. VJTI is an academically and administratively autonomous institute, but it is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The institute is financially supported by the Government of Maharashtra.
