AB+ is the blood group which is a universal acceptor since it has both kinds of antigens, which are Antigen A and Antigen B. People having a blood group of AB+ can accept blood from any person of any blood group. AB-positive blood group is a universal acceptor or recipient. They can receive blood from all blood groups, such as A, B, O, and AB, regardless of having Rh antigen or not. To determine which blood groups are universal donors and universal acceptors, we need to understand the characteristics of different blood groups and their compatibility. The universal acceptor blood group is type O negative (O-) and the universal donor blood group is type AB positive (AB+). Type O negative (O-) blood is considered the universal acceptor because it lacks any antigens on the surface of the red blood cells.
