Surdas was a 16th-century blind Hindu devotional poet and singer, who has written and sung in praise of Lord Krishna. He was a great poet and an exceptional singer. Surdas was a disciple of Shri Vallabhacharya who popularized the belief that even householders could achieve salvation, the kind that was assumed to be only limited to ascetics.
